A big “Thank You” to VinWins for stepping in last week, what a guy!  Vin’s post are what I strive for each and every week, so I hope you enjoyed him last week, because it’s back to mediocre drivel this week!  The trading deadline has now come and gone in the RCLs and it went out with a bit of a whimper.  A couple of our top teams made some moves, but it wasn’t the 30 trade onslaught I was anticipating.  If you weren’t able to find a dance partner, fear not.  We are about to enter the silly season of fantasy baseball, where everything is needs based.  Travis Jankowski won’t help you any if you’re already leading your leagues in steals and Aaron Judge is on the wire.  Ditto for those teams that have used all or most of their Games Started limit.  Starting pitchers should start dropping like flies in the next few weeks, making for a streamers paradise.  Kudos to you if you’ve paced yourself well, now good luck avoiding the Cleveland Streamer.  A new overall leader emerged from the fray this week, it took having the highest league score to do it, but it shows someone from a, “not so competitive RCL”, has shot at the title if they put up huge league numbers.  With seven weeks left, expect some big changes to the overall standings as teams use up those GS or teams that have used all their GS get caught.  There’s still plenty of time to make some noise, so get rowdy.  But first, check out the rest of the week that was, Week 19:

‘PERTY ‘PERTS

Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts & other industry names to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land.  We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them.  Click the heading above to check out the ‘Perts League home page and follow along.

Team McLeod was the biggest point gainer this week as the outsider opened up an even bigger lead on his competition.  With 5 points this week, Team McLeod now holds a 12.5 point lead over the nearest threat, Big Magoo.  I’m incredibly impressed with the show Team McLeod is putting on.  The RCLs are a different animal, and to come into Razzball’s house and hold a 12.5 point lead with seven weeks to go is no easy task.  I’m still not convinced Team McLeod holds on, but the fact they are where they are has me dishing out props.

A week after touching Magoo’s coat tails in a tie for second place, J-FOH fell back to 3rd after dropping 3 points.  Magoo himself dropped 1.5 points, so the race for second still remains tight.  Our Fantasy Master Lathario remains 0.5 points ahead of JB, but now sits in 4th place, 3 points behind J-FOH.

Yahoo’s Triple D was the biggest loser in the standings this week, dropping two places to 6th place thanks to a 3 point loss.

Rudy’s offensive woes have left him mired in the bottom half of the standings, he currently sits 9th overall as he’s been passed in GS by most teams.  With only 100 GS used, Rudy has some serious streaming to do or else conceed points in Wins and Strikeouts.

As I mentioned above, a new name, Team Levy, graces the top of the leaderboard this week.  Levy has overcome being in a league with Tehol, so he should get bonus points for that alone.  Somehow, All Hail Beddict Tha God has an LCI above 100.  Clearly this league has worked double time to make up for the Tehol factor and the 108 Levy is throwing out there is pretty impressive.  Backdoor Sliders and Cram It are joined by Big Magoo, making Team Levy as uncomfortable as possible in the catbird seat.  The only change in the top 10 teams from last week is Team Son changing places with You had to make it weird as they swapped 9th for 12th (or 12th for 9th depending on how you look at it).

All the trades that have gone down in the past week.  Public ridicule is not only allowed, but encouraged.

8/12/16 Play with FOH Team bacon traded Starling Marte to The People’s Champ for Chris Davis and Joc Pederson (Team bacon dropped Rick Porcello)

As I mentioned, not the most trades we’ve had in a week.

Interesting that Billy Hamilton was involved in 4 trades this week.  His recent splurge of SBs has likely set his owners up nicely in the steals department and they can ship him off to some less fortunate stolen base squad.

Backdoor Sliders I swapped Hamilton’s speed for Mike Napoli’s old man power.

Speaking of old man power, former top 10 team, AK FortySevens also traded Billy Ham for some in the form of David Ortiz.

Someone traded Kershaw and Kuechel for Rajai Davis, who’d have thought that would happen back in week 1?

Team Morrison had used all of their GS, but still, I’d think Max Scherzer could have netted more than Fatt Kemp and DJ Jazzy LeMahieu.

WEEKLY LEADERS

The best of the best from the week that was.

SB – 20 – Channel 4 News Team (Take on the JayWrong #4)

AVG – .393 – Team Redknapp (12 Monkeys Clicking)

WHIP (Min. 40 IP) – 0.74 – This Lil’ Puigy Went To Market (Effectively Hide my Thunder)

We have a new weekly record in batting average thanks to Team RedKnapp.  They were oh so close to chasing down Ted Williams and his .400 weekly batting average back in fantasy week 18 of 1942.

We start to see the procrastinators come out now.  Where we had teams burning GS early on and racking up Ks and Wins, now we have teams playing catch-up and doing the same.  Johnny Utahs has several teams under or around 100 GS, so plenty of streaming work to be done there.  Expect several of his teams to frequent these lists to finish out the season.

J-FOH is playing a little catch-up as well and for the second time his ‘Perts league team makes and appearance in the weekly wins leader column.

You might recall Calgary Cannons from leading in Wins and Ks early in the year.  They blew through their 180 GS and now it’s all relievers, all the time.  They traded for a couple, added a few more, gained a couple at the MLB trade deadline and are poised to rack up the saves from here on out.

Shout out to New Zealand Steve and his silent protest of Vetard Strength…Late Boomers still makes more sense to me too Steve!

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.

Team: Johnny Utahs

League: FOHs Fantasy Funride

Stats:   H/AB: 102/323, AVG: .316, R: 55, HR: 25, RBI: 65, SB: 3

IP: 105.2, ERA: 3.32, WHIP: 1.18, K: 94, W: 8, SV: 11

Summary:  Another of the Utahs squads that’s streaming like a banshee.  This version is sitting at 90 GS and 5th place in FOHs Fantasy Funride.  It’s pretty impressive to rack up all those ABs, with those power numbers (only 1 away from RCL weekly lead) and also rake in 105.2 IP.  With only 11 points separating Utahs from first place, it’s going to be a fun finish.
