Rudy and his robots are on vacation this week, which means we won’t have the usual weekly Razzball Commenter Leagues data to go over this week.  Do androids dream of electric beach? I can (and will!) still recap the ‘Perts League and we’ll go over the trades from the week. Next week, we’ll be back to regularly scheduled programming.  In the meantime I thought I’d toss out a friendly reminder about pacing yourself. No, this is not advice for becoming a competitive eater so put away the Sam’s Club industrial jug of mayonnaise.  This is about pacing your innings pitched. Some simple math tells us there are 25 weeks in the season and we need to get to 1400 IP. That means you should be looking at about 56 innings pitched per week in order to stay on track.  In other words, you should be sitting at about 170 IP as of this writing. FanTrax does offer you a glimpse of your current pace if you click the Min/Max button on your team screen. I’m not sure I trust their math though. I followed that calculation last year and with about a month and a half to go had to stream my arse off in just about every league to catch up.  I’m not sure where the breakdown was, but I’m doing my own tracking this season. With any luck, you’re reading this early enough this season that you won’t fall into the same trap.

‘PERTY ‘PERTS

Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land.  We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them.  The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.

Grey is still king of the ‘Perts world this week despite losing nine points.  It was fortunate timing for Grey as the second place team, Son, lost six points of his own.  There were a lot of big swings this week as Hot Rod lost eight and a half points, I lost ten and Malamoney lost ten and a half.  Those points went to B_Don (9), Donkey Teeth (9.5), Cram It (11.5) and the big winner of the week, Tehol (13.5). Tehol and Cram It tied for the most standings spots gained as they each moved up four places this week with their big point gains.  Malamoney was the biggest loser, losing 5 spots in the standings.  Speaking of losers, don’t bother looking at that team in eleventh, nothing to see there.

B_Don and Donkey Teeth pulled off a big trade this week, more on that later, it’s interesting that both of them made big jumps the same week.  Nice work fellas!

TRADES

All the trades that have gone down in the past week.  Public ridicule is not only allowed, but encouraged.

DATE LEAGUE DETAILS
4/15/2019 Perts
B-Don traded Trevor Story & Kevin Kiermaier to Donkey Teeth for Max Scherzer & Byron Buxton
4/16/2019 RCL #57
Diamond Archers traded Yusei Kikuchi, Clayton Kershaw & Jordan Hicks to All Rise for Ronald Acuna Jr.
4/17/2019 RCL #48
El_Marco traded Chris Paddack & Pete Alonso to Team Emsbems for Anthony Rizzo
4/18/2019 RCL #66
Honey Bunches of Sadness traded Max Kepler & Daniel Vogelbach to Mr Big and Bud Goode for Brandon Morrow & Franmil Reyes
4/20/2019 RCL #56
Team Squiz traded Kolten Wong, Ryan McMahon & Aaron Judge to Team vaughn for Carlos Correa & Paul Goldschmidt
4/21/2019 RCL #48
El_Marco traded Shane Bieber to Seaton Wolves for Eugenio Suarez

There is the ‘Perts League trade I mentioned above.  It’s basically Story for Scherzer as Donkey Teeth searched for offense.  Let’s quickly run this one through Rudy’s Trade Analyzer.  B_Don gets $39 in value while DT gets $35.50.  Not bad either way.

I’m surprisingly OK with trading Rizzo for Paddack and Alonso.  Usually I like getting the best player in a deal but I’m not so sure Emsbems didn’t here…

Tough time to trade for Aaron Judge.  Ouch.

                  Balls = bad.

Any chance my ECFBL team might have earned TotW?

Also, that exchange between you and Grey has my ears buzzing…

I saw that when I grabbed the ECFBL numbers, crazy good week, likely a TOW contender. You’ll just have to hang on for the two week TOW honor, but since I’m chasing you, I hope you don’t, haha.

I felt Rizzo is a safe bet for a .270 avg/.280 BABIP and a 25/80/100 line. Hopefully 30 HR. Alonso is hitting .325 with a .383 BABIP. He’s probably more like a .260/.300 hitter. His 50% hard contact is great but Rizzo is at 45%

Also, I was close to my first three way this week but I’m fairly certain that one of the owners didn’t see the offer. I will keep trying…

in fantrax how do you set your default league when entering the page. the fist league i signed up for was cancelled so when i connect in it still tries to display it. I want to set the current league as my default page.

As for the legaue format i’m still not finding a great pitching strategy. I guess i need more relief pitchers i have crappy starters eating up innings.

Hmmm, not sure on the FanTrax thing, I just bookmark my league home page URLs and go to those, but when I login to FanTrax.com I just get a big blue screen, not a league page.

RE: Pitching – I’ve always found RPs to be useful in this format, I have 5 SPs max, preferably 4 with a spot for streaming juicy match-ups, looking for vulture saves or just trying to pick up a scoreless inning and a couple Ks.

Thank Matt………..i look at a couple other rosters in the league i just don’t have a handle on balancing K’s vs Whip vs Saves and innings

        Bundy, Dylan
        Chirinos, Yonny
        Glasnow, Tyler
        Junis, Jakob
        Keller, Brad
        Minor, Mike
        Rodon, Carlos
        Stroman, Marcus
        Peacock, Brad
        Heaney, Andrew

        Foltynewicz, Mike
        Severino, Luis
        Wood, Alex

Unfortunately these are the relievers out there so it does’nt look too promising

        Gant, John
        Gaviglio, Sam
        Margevicius, Nick
        Woodruff, Brandon
        Means, John
        Trivino, Lou
        Brebbia, John
        Kelley, Shawn
        Brennan, Brandon
        Elias, Roenis
        Walden, Marcus
        Brooks, Aaron
        Beeks, Jalen

i get a blue screen with “League Deleted:” then i have to go to other leagues to the valid one
