We’ve just got a quick hitter this week for our Razzball Commenter League update.  I considered just not doing a post this week, but small weeks need love too, so here we are.  With only three days in the previous week’s schedule thanks to the All Star break, everything is abbreviated.  There weren’t a lot of changes, but there are still some goodies to go over.  Plenty of trades were made and some decent mini-weeks were had as we’ll see in the weekly leaders.  It’s pretty impressive what teams can pull off in just three days.  Let’s jump into all the juicy data from our mini week that was, week 15:

‘PERTY ‘PERTS

Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land.  We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them.  The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.

We had a little shakeup in the short week with Son regaining his spot atop the league.  Cram It lost two points and Son picked up four to complete the switch.  MarmosDad somehow picked up 10.5 points in the three-day window, co-leading the league in HRs and leading in RBI and Wins.  That gain was good for a two-spot jump as Laura lost 3.5 points and fell two places this week.

RAZZSLAM STANDINGS UPDATE

Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam.  This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.

Here we are, starting somewhat fresh for the championship bracket version of the RazzSlam where the top 66 will duke it out to move onto round 2.  I say somewhat fresh because there is some secret sauce involved in the points where teams have some bit of carryover from the regular season.  That explains why our top ten is completely different today.  It was only three days, small sample size here, but things should equalize in the coming weeks.  Round 2 starts August 7th.

TRADES

All the trades that have gone down in the past week.  Public ridicule is not only allowed, but encouraged.

The All Star break is a great time to evaluate your teams and make some deals.  Vin is out here overpaying for closers, but sometimes you have to overpay for team needs and no one will remember that you overpaid when you win your league, believe me.

I shipped Vlad Jr. off, a move that could haunt me if he goes power crazy post HR Derby.  I have seen enough and need some speed.  Honestly, I’m pretty into Bobby Witt and Darvish doesn’t scare me.  I need IP and hope he can give me some quality ones.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.

Team: Blue Squadron 12

League: RCL 12

Stats:   AVG: .302, R: 26, HR: 9, RBI: 32, SB: 2

IP: 49, ERA: 2.57, WHIP: 0.939, K: 48, W: 3, SV: 2

Summary: Speaking of good work for three days, Blue Squadron 12 had a nice little mini-week thanks to Giancarlo visiting Coors, CJ Abrams hitting and stealing all the bases and Tanner Bibee having a surprisingly good start against the Rangers.  Heck, most of us would consider this a pretty solid seven days, never mind, three.  Nice work, Blue Squadron, way to start the second half strong.
