Happy All Star break, RCLers! We’re almost 60% of the way now and this little lull in the action is a perfect time to regroup, analyze our teams and our league standings, and formulate a plan for the rest of the season. Are you up by 40 steals? Well, maybe look to move a stolen base threat for some power. Are you down 40 steals? Maybe see if an Esteury Ruiz manager is looking to move him for cheap now that he’s on the IL. I”m looking to move closers and semi-closers in several leagues right now. Guys with loose holds on jobs or ones who may get traded and lose out on saves are perfect for this. See if a team wants Scott McGough, Andrew Chafin could be back in the saddle in three weeks, who knows? Will Smith and A.J. Puk are a blown save or three from losing their jobs. Scott Barlow could be traded, the Dodgers could pull the trigger on a veteran closer leaving Evan Phillips without save chances. Things to think about when looking to wheel and deal. Let’s take a look at all that happened in the week that was, week 14:
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.
A shakeup at the top this week as Cram It gained four points and Son lost 2.5. The two swapped places and Cram It takes the lead. Cram It has had a rough go the past couple seasons in Perts so it’s nice to see him making a charge here, we’ll see if he can hold on as he just swung a potentially risky trade for Max Fried. The Great Knoche actually had the best week in the league though leading in HR, RBI, and average while co-leading in Wins and Saves. The big week was good for six points as Knoche now sits just 5.5 points out of second. The worst week belongs to Coolwhip who lost 6.5 points but held onto fifth place.
Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.
The top six remain the same this week but the big news this week is Razzball’s own, MarmosDad sneaking into the top ten overall! MarmosDad and Grimey holding it down for Team Razzball. Well done, lads. Michael Waldo was the biggest gainer this week, picking up 753 points and moving up 38 places to 39th overall. This was the last week to make a move, the top six in each league will move on with the top three making it to the championship bracket and the next three making it to the Wild Card bracket. Seventh through twelfth aren’t out yet, they all get thrown in a bracket with the top team able to advance back into the playoffs. Of course…I finished seventh in my league. The Razzslam is not my bag. Good luck to all our teams in the playoffs.

Seven trades this week with Austin Riley and Max Muncy each moving twice. I made a pair of moves this week to help get some IPs in leagues where I’m lagging. I like Gore a lot and Rizzo was odd man out of my roster. I also needed some steals and Whit Merrifield fit the bill. You can peep Cram’s trade here. I fear Max Fried is going to be hurt again and shut down, but we’ll see. As a Braves fan, I’d love if he’s an ace the rest of the way, but I’m skeptical.
WEEKLY LEADERS
The best of the best from the week that was.
R – 65 – GMoney Squared (FCL)
HR –25 – Fly147 (RCL 19)
RBIs – 66 – Finkelstein Basements (RCL 15)
SB – 23 – Tuck It In (RCL 29)
AVG – .345 – smehlis (RCL 9)
K – 102 – FANTASY ICON (DFSers Anonymous) & Gwildor’s Wearhouse (RCL 33)
W – 9 – Stoeln Vortex (RCL 6), Ripken Randos (RCL 21), & Jeremy Gibbs (RCL 27)
SV – 11 – FANTASY ICON (DFSers Anonymous)
ERA (Min. 40 IP) – 0.56 – FLIBWIP (RCL 12) (in 48 IP)
WHIP (Min. 40 IP) – 0.667 – FLIBWIP (RCL 12)
The HR record was tied this week and we bust new records in steals (by two) and ERA (by 0.10). I can’t recall a week where the steals leader has been more than the HR leader, but I could see it happening this year.
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: Sho me 2 Ohtani’s
League: RCL 30
Stats: AVG: .267, R: 47, HR: 22, RBI: 60, SB: 16
IP: 72.2, ERA: 2.48, WHIP: 1.197, K: 81, W: 5, SV: 4
Summary: Sho me put on their best Shohei impression this week, hitting dingers, stealing bags and pitching impressive ratios with a nice K/9. RCL 30 is incredibly close heading into the ASB with Sho me sitting in fourth place with 83.5 points (up from fifth place with 78.5 points last week). Razzball’s Kirskey (CableBoxScore) is leading the league with 86.5 points. This is anybody’s race heading down the stretch and more weeks like this will go a long way. Willy Adames (4 HRs) and Bobby Witt Jr. (2 HRs, 4 SBs) led the offense while Blake Snell threw 11 clean innings and racked up 18 strikeouts. Nice work, Sho me, and good luck in the second half!
