We’re really coming down to the wire now with less than two weeks left in the season so it’s time to pull out all the stops and just go for it. Even though the season is winding down, there are still lots of available hitters who are heating up. Don’t let football distract you from the championship you’ve been chasing all season. You need to make your moves now and the guys below can help carry you there. Now go win that trophy.
Lane Thomas has appeared here previously but he’s still very under rostered. He just keeps hitting batting .321 over his last seven and .306 if we go back two weeks. Son wrote a great in depth piece about him that I suggest you check out. He bring the upside for those chunk games where he puts up 3 or 4 points at a time. Those are the performances that can swing a match up for you and you don’t want to look across the and see him on the opposing roster.
Frank Schwindel is finally starting to get some love with his roster percentage jumping 10% but I think that’s still too low. He’s taking full advantage of the opportunity he has due to all the deadline action and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. He’s way to hot to be left on the wire so grab him while you still can.
Brandon Belt just declared himself the captain of your fantasy team, he even taped the C on his chest and everything. He’s on a power binge right now with 5 over his last eight games and that’s when you want him. The rest of the lineup is rolling as well so Belt should have plenty of opportunities to rack up runs and RBIs.
Ian Happ looks like a whole new man since the calendar flipped to August with 12 of his 22 bombs in that stretch. Hopefully he can carry his strong performance over into next season and not take this long to get his swing figured out. We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. Take advantage of his hot bat and close out this season on a high note.
Alejandro Kirk has been showing off his pop and sometimes that’s really all you can ask of your backstop. His upside is capped because, like most catchers he heads to bench frequently. However, when he’s in the lineup, he can mash. That kind of bat can help with your catcher woes.
Bobby Dalbec should not be as available as he currently is. He has a big bat and can put up points in a hurry. You want him while he’s hot and right now he is just that. I wouldn’t let him sit on the wire for much longer.
Yoshi Tsutsugo looks pretty good in a Pirates uniform, or as good as any batter can. Since changing teams he’s blasted all 7 of his home runs and is carrying a solid average to go along with it. He’s about as close to free as you can get and you’ll enjoy having him on your roster if you need help at corner infield or outfield.
Nicky Lopez may be on the Royals but he’s still been pretty good for fantasy. He doesn’t have the power that you usually want but he puts the ball in play and does have some speed. He was riding a nice 10 game hitting streak and his season numbers look pretty good as well. You could definitely do worse at middle infield.
Bryan De La Cruz is really enjoying September. Actually I imagine that he’s been enjoying everything since being called up to the show in July. He’s got regular at bats and that’s resulted in fantasy points. Not a ton of power or speed but he puts the ball in play and that generally leads to good things.
Lamonte Wade Jr. is a classic Giants player this season. Another cast off that has found a home in San Fran is for some reason is just crushing it. He’s been showing off his power because the Giants are a power team now, just as we all expected. Wade also carries a solid average and has smacked some doubles as well. Mix that all together and we’ve got a hitter who should not be available in over 90% of leagues.
