This is it, time to push all your chips to center and go all in. With that in mind here are some last minute pickups that can help you bring it home. We’ve got quite a few repeat names on this list as we did last week but these guys are still out there in too many leagues and you can pick them up and put them directly into your lineup. There’s not enough time left in the season to stash guys for later. There is no later, you need points and you need them now. It’s been a fun season, now let’s take it home.
Catcher
Dauton Varsho has been pretty good over the past couple weeks and pretty good will get it done for catcher. He does have some tough matchups coming up against the Dodgers but the points have been there recently and he can score in a variety of ways. He has the power and speed to smack some doubles and that’s enough to make him a target.
Keibert Ruiz has just been hitting non stop since taking over behind the dish in Washington. He hasn’t shown his off power yet but he did hit 21 in the minors this year so the dongs will come. Even without the long ball he’s been red hot and can elevate your catcher spot from a meh to a strength. I would grab him immediately if you’re not happy with the projection you’ve been getting.
Corner Infield
Brandon Belt is the points league hero that you need. Since returning from the IL he’s been piling up fantasy points. He’s not a flashy option but he gets the job done. He’s a threat to go on a homer barrage at any time and already has a career high. Who knows he may even hit the 30 home run plateau. Another strength is his eye in the box. He sees the ball well and isn’t afraid to work the count and take a free pass.
Frank Schwindel could already be rostered in your league but he is still out there in 35% of leagues so it’s worth taking a look. He just keeps hitting since he got an everyday job. If you’re in a league where he’s still available, at least pick him up so your opponent doesn’t.
Hunter Dozier had some hype in the preseason but that never fully materialized. He’s been solid but not someone you would roster outside of deep leagues. Right now he’s hot at the plate, batting .333 with 5 bombs in the past couple weeks. He’s eligible at both corner infield spots so that’s a nice bonus.
Middle Infield
Nicky Lopez was on this list last week and I still like him this week. He’s a hot bat right now and I would feel comfortable rolling him out in deeper leagues.
Gavin Lux will be seeing time in outfield which should mean regular at bats. He’s a top prospect and he’s been hotter than the center of a hot pocket since early September. This is the kind of upside you want going into a championship.
Outfield
Jesus Sanchez is walking on water. Ok, that one was too easy, but he has been a pretty good fantasy bat of late. He’s a sneaky start in a championship round who could pay off in a big way.
Andrew Benintendi is probably on a roster, but he’s been pretty hot in September and that means he should e on a roster if he’s out there. That’s the kind of hotness you want.
Jerred Kelenic has finally arrived. The young gun has finally arrived. Get in on this train and right it all the way home.
