The season is over, but when you’re listening it wasn’t quite over for us!  So we still have a wrap up show on the docket, and on today’s fine programming we grace the airwaves with possible 2016 bounce backs, another edition of Higher/Lower, and players ending the year hotter than Devonta Freeman!  Wait, ummmm, no I’m not thinking about football right now!  “Say something I’m giving up on you!”  Here’s the latest edition of the Razzball Baseball Podcast:

In honor of this 2nd to last baseball podcast, I’d like to rank the greatest discussions of time in civilization:

    1) Jeff Spicoli’s explanation of ‘our time’ to the infamous Mr. Hand
    2) Mikey’s inspirational speech of ‘our time down here’ in Goonies
    3) Doc Brown’s explanation of alternative times & 4th dimensional thinking
    4) JB, Grey, & Rudy’s ability to exist on another timeline from us all & still provide all this wonderful information
    5) Stephen Hawking’s brief history of time, which ranks last only because it was neither brief nor had much time in yet (more space)

And as for what we will do for the next 90 days or so until 2016’s rankings begin dropping like they’re hot, the words of the late great Robin Williams in Good Morning, Vietnam come to mind: ‘Well, you’ll carry on, Montesquieu.’

@Clint: Haha, I’m pretty sure our explanation of time was more convoluted than the movie Primer. Although i still liked that one!

Well, one more Pod and I am doing my pitching rank review! Mostly just to gawk over my high Arrieta rank…

    Dynasty points H2H format:
    Votto
    Miggy
    Tulo
    Cano

From the above four players heading into 2016 you can tag (1) One Year Keeper (2) Two Year Keepers and (1) Five Year Keeper.

@NoonTime: Whew, that’s a toughie! I think I’m giving 5 years to Votto. 2 to Miggy. Then kinda leaning one to Cano, I know Tulo didn’t fall off a cliff, but Cano was sooooo good in the 2nd half

So, JB, you remember waaaaay back to first podcast of the year or so when you were pimping that Rotoderby site? Welp, I’m a sucker for shizz like that (Hence why I am a DFS junky) and it was a pretty sweet deal they were offering for Razzballers (buy two teams, get one free, plus an extra 15% off I believe). Well, I through down for 2 and got 1 free and made my lineups to the best of my ability. Then I basically completely forgot about them all summer except for once a month or so I’d say, “Oh ya” and go check it to find myself somewhere in 300-500th place typically. I did see you in 15th for April and said, “Good for JB”. Well, I just remembered to go check it and guess which Hippo is in first place for the month of September? This guy! I walloped the next closest guy by 21 points. Had to check it three times because I didn’t believe it. What a nice September surprise! Long story, short, don’t be surprised when there’s a crown and coke in your hand once rotoderby gets those funds to my account. I always tip the dealer when I win a big pot and am a big believer in karma. So, cheers JB, thanks for digging up the place and for the work you put in on the podcast this year. It was nice to have the old school podcast back in action. You rock my man.

@MattTruss: Yeah man, those guys are great! My team… not so much. Although I did win a free team the first month before it fell apart… Hah thanks for noticing, and damn NICE WORK! And awesome, thanks so much man!

Really appreciate that man! We had a blast just being ridiculous and talking baseball, nuts and bolts sorta thing, but through in Grey being crazy haha. Thanks again, looking forward to next year!

Yep that was me that pointed out JB called out Grey on the Souza over JD pick. I feel like all those hours spent slaving away on the keyboard in my mom’s basement have finally something something.

Now you guys made it seem like it was about JB having been especially high on JD — it wasn’t. Pretty sure JD was ranked several rounds ahead of Souza by nearly every ‘pert out there. Grey goofed plain and simple.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Manley Ramirez: Well, I don’t have ranks to refute anything, but I don’t know why you can claim it wasn’t me being high on him either… I ended up with him on 3-4 redrafts and got him before pick 100 which was well above ADP pretty sure. Although your final line is fully accurate haha.

      • Manley Ramirez says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: I don’t refute your JD love just wanted to point out how Grey craftily framed the conversation as your love for JD rather than his own overdraft of Souza /negligence of JD. And you fell into his trap JB haha!

I mean speaking of drafting guys before 100 and before their ADP, well, that’s what Grey did there with Souza….

@Manley Ramirez: DAMMIT! Grey and his ability to grow facial hair and your general man-ness has thwarted me again.

Hah yeah Souza definitely was buzzy, his K rate wasn’t for me though…
