On a special edition Razzball Baseball Pod, I get to sit down with Rudy Gamble and break down his 2016 15-team mixed LABR draft.  Huzzah for the deep leagues!  We first start with headlines in baseball that got all sorts of out-of-date due to news right after we recorded, then talked some of Rudy’s draft strategy and break down most of his picks and the machine-like decision making that went into them.  “It’s IN the computer!”  The first-round selection of Kris Bryant drew a lot of flack, Rudy goes through who he felt were value picks, and a few prospect selections he made at the end of the draft.  Here’s our latest edition of the Razzball Baseball Podcast:

PS – Starting tomorrow, we’re moving the Podcasts to Tuesday mornings!  Unlike our former pre-taping timeline, we’re now going to record much closer to the publish date to give you the Razzball goods without being in our time machine.  So we’ll be back tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM EST!

Can’t wait to have the publish closer to the record date. Who doesn’t love listening to 5 minutes of Fowler to the Orioles, to have that not actually happen.

Still all good, always look forward to listening.

@Grant: Hah yeah I pressured Grey into it last week, and as soon as the Fowler news hit that he was back to Chicago I was like… Yeahhhh we shoulda done this sooner. Locked in now though! Just recorded for tomo AM!

I just kept corey seager ,noah, arrietta, boagarts ,and schwarb. Yahoo leage points with obp kbb. It was a 12 team and was just changed to a 16 . 3outfileder should I vote for 2 utilities or to keep just the one. Since now its 16 and I have two shortstops. Also should I try drafting a decent catcher and plan shwarber to be in the outfield.

@gangreen: Ummm, I would prob just vote for one. And O’d probably wait on catcher unless a value came early, then you can reasses next yr when Schwarb loses it

I’m relatively new to the Podcast nation, so I apologize if I’m late to the party…but the only thing I could focus on during this whole show was that JB somehow was able to interview George McFly about fantasy baseball! Seriously, is Rudy’s real name Crispin Glover? If not, he has a legitimate chance for voice-over work if they ever make Back to the Future 4! HA

    • damn, i’ve been biff’d.

@Pager24: @Rudy Gamble: Hhahaha, at least Rudy could do ADR work in Willard 2.

Yea, so now what do you think of the Orioles now? Trumbo and Soo-Kim now have assurred playing time, right? I say Trumbo gets at least 130-140 games, and Soo-Kim becomes leadoff for more than 150. Keep in mind, Trumbo had an 800+ ops for 5 out of 6 months last year, and now moves to the AL East and Baltimore in particular. 30 homers and 90 Rbis are very possible for a OF-1B player.

@napster: It def hurts them. I def think Kim does, yeah I like that breakdown as your mention. Trumbo just could be really streaky too and tough to own, but yeah I buy 30/90 as very possible. Maybe like .250
