Hey! What you say let’s play 3 today. Not quite the ring of the ole doubleheader phrase but we got to work with what we have and that’s what MLB has bestowed on us this lovely Monday afternoon. 3 whole games! So if you had a rough week and wanted to take a day off from DFS or betting I guess this one is good as any. Most of us press on and today as the title suggests, It’s Pablo Time ladies and gentlemen. Miami travels to Boston for this makeup game smack dab in the middle of the day and Fan Duel does have it on its main games so I’m going with it and starting Pablo Lopez ($9,600). Pablo has performed admirably so far this season with not a lot to show for it with only one victory. He’s had a couple of stinkers thrown in there but has given his team more often than not a pathway to win the game and the Marlins just haven’t come through for him in the end. Pablo limits the hard contact by commanding five pitches (4 seam, change up, cutter, curve, sinker) and mixes them well. Pablo throws his changeup more than any other pitch and when it is on it is a devastating pitch to a right-hand hitter. The Marlins just got swept by those pesky Pirates and with the late-night game last night that Boston won against the Yankees and had to travel back home for this one makeup game before hosting the Astros for 3 games starting on Tuesday. I haven’t seen a lineup yet but I figure some of the regular Boston players will get a breather and Lopez is more than capable of shutting down a lineup for 6-7 innings. I’m penciling in Lopez for 7 Innings today, 5 hits, 2 ER, and 9 K’s.

SP- Dylan Bundy ($7,300) It hasn’t been pretty for Bundy this season and as a season-long owner in one of my leagues this year it has been maddening to figure out what is going on with Bundy this year. Bundy’s fastball which he throws almost half of the time has not been good this year hovering around 92 MPH. Bundy’s best pitches this year are his curveball and slider which can keep the hitters from sitting on his fastball if he is commanding them well. The problem is most of the time he has not commanded his pitches well leading to BB’s and hitters feasting on his below-average fastball. I normally wouldn’t even look at him on a slate but with the limited options, I think this is a spot where you can ride him today and YOLO it. People are going to be squeamish about playing him and is a way to be different than the majority of players. I don’t think he gets rocked today and performs like he did the last outing against the Royals going 6 INN 3 ER 7K’s which would allow you a decent base and then hitting on a couple of hitters. I do think the Angels win as well here so a possibility for a win is also in play here.

C/1B- Jared Walsh-($3,700) Walsh looks like the chalk here but for good reason. The Royals are starting their #4 prospect in Jackson Kowar who is lighting it up for the Omaha Storm Chasers (AAA) and figured now is a good time to get out of Omaha joining his fellow 2018 draft class members Bubic, Singer, and Lynch. Walsh has been lighting it up as well on the offensive side and is feasting on off-speed pitches especially this year. Walsh’s Max Exit Velocity has been elite this year and is barreling up his share of balls leading to his .924 OPS so far this season. You can afford him so why not play him right?

2B- Jazz Chisholm Jr. ($3,100) Jazz has cooled off a bit and still strikes out more than you would like, he always seems to do at least a little something for you when he is out there. He has 9 SB this season and none so far in June so you got to think a few are en route to his stat page soon.

3B- Manny Machado ($4,000) Manny is hitting the ball extremely hard but right at people who catch the ball in their glove otherwise known as the other team. He had a rough day on Saturday against Degrom who struck him out 3 times and then got the day off yesterday against Stroman. I think he was getting frustrated and just needed a mental breather and will be back in the lineup today against Alzolay and the Cubs. I think the day off will be fruitful and Manny takes one deep today.

SS-Xander Bogaerts ($3,500) Xander has recovered nicely from his 0-24 slump and had the key hit yesterday against the Yankees in extra innings to propel them to victory. I think even with the short turnaround for the makeup game if he is in the lineup he is such a professional I think he has a couple of hits and drives in a run today.

OF- Justin Upton ($3,200) Upton has been hitting the ball well of late and has a little 4 game hitting streak going and had a great series against the Mariners this past weekend hitting 3 HR’s in 4 games. His K rate is still pretty awful but he is as streaky as they come and you just have to ride the wave.

OF- Wil Myers ($2,700) Wil had a chance to see Alzolay last week on the 2nd when they played each other in Wrigley and I think he gets on base against him as most of Myers success so far this year has been against righties.  Myers hasn’t stolen a base since April and I think he is itching to steal another one so don’t be surprised to see him get the green light and steal a base today for you.

OF- Whit Merrifield ($3,600) Although Whit’s average is a bit down from where you would like to see it, everybody that has him rostered is happy with his 17 steals so far and has only been caught one time. Whit still makes great contact and although I mentioned Bundy above as a possible start for you, Whit is too good to go 0-4 and I think he gets on base a couple of times and wrecks havoc on the base paths today.

UTIL-Starling Marte ($3,600) Marte has been hitting it well since returning from the IL getting knocks in 6 out of the 8 games he has played. He has 1 HR and 1 SB in those games and seems to never have a terrible game. Marte is as steady Eddie as they come. Pivetta who he will face has had a good year so far but is usually around the plate where Marte will no doubt be waiting for one.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

Weather looks great and it will be hot hot hot in Boston today reaching into the 90s. Let the hitting commence!

Doing Lines in Vegas

Miami/Boston FF U5 -110

I don’t think the bats get going until the later innings. Makeup game and you might not see the regulars in.

Appreciate that my man! I assume P Lopez home vs Rockies (Sensatela) would be better than all of them?
