I wonder if Samuel Basallo and Dylan Beavers know how much is riding on their success. If they don’t succeed, it will be added to the failures of Jackson Holliday, Adley Rutschman and Coby Mayo. Plus, Kyle Stowers needing to go to another team to ignite into something, and whatever happened to Gunnar and Westburg last year. At that point, Orioles’ entire system will be considered a failure and they will have rebuilt for nothing. Sung like Turned Down For What, “Rebuilt for nothing!” Shirts reading “Rebuilt for nothing,” might not sell as well as that one Etsy seller thinks, who is designing them. I haven’t bought any shirts from Orioles Hater 4 You on Etsy but I’m considering, “Rebuilt for Nothing!” and “The Ripkens were Al Qaeda.” Okay, okay, I’m being a hater, Gunnar and Westburg were injured and will be fine; Holliday can still connect; Basallo looks dope; Stowers was great but traded for an excellent (last year) Trevor Rogers; Beavers seems solid; Adley always sucked, and maybe Mayo still emulsifies the ball–excuse me, creams. Today, we’re dealing with Dylan Beavers, who looks like every ex-boyfriend of every friend, who is a girl. If you go to Razzball dot com, you can see his headshot from college when he was at UC Berkeley, where he went 35/17 in 424 ABs across two seasons, at the age of 19 and 20. Ancient history now. O’s drafted him in 2022 and away we go. Itch said earlier this year, “Beavers has been excellent for most of the season, but he’s kicked into a higher gear around mid-June. Beavers is a 6′ 5″, 206-pound lumberjack, who was the 33rd overall pick in the 2022 draft and that he looks more than ready for the next step, and I’d like to step on Grey’s head.” Not cool. So, what can we expect from Dylan Beavers for 2026 fantasy baseball?
Dylan Beavers hit his first MLB home run off Jason Alexander. What’s the opposite of shrinkage? That’s this ball:

Here’s one more, but there’s plenty:

Dylan Beavers is giving Cody Bellinger. You know what else I’m annoyed about, right? Same thing I’m annoyed about for every young, lefty hitter: platoons. Freakin’ platoons, man! Similar to Michael J. Fox after Casualties of War, an underrated gem, and he was like, “Freakin’ Platoon’s, man, getting all the buzz!” I hear ya, MJ! Beavers can’t hit lefties, supposedly, but, I don’t know, maybe if you gave him a chance? Haha, how foolish of me! Of course, he won’t get a chance vs. lefties!
So, Dylan Beavers went 18/23/.304 in 342 ABs in Triple-A and 4/2/.227 in limited 110 ABs on the majors. (Just squeezed in under wire for rookie eligibility.) He’s 24 and beyond ready. In Triple-A, he had a 16.3 BB% and 18.2 K% and 19% walk rate in the majors in those 110 ABs. That’s so funny. He really is Cody Bellinger. He’s about to be a .400 OBP as a rookie. In Triple-A, he had a 20.8% chase rate and 18.7% in the majors. Of course, Juan Soto’s the best on not chasing. His rate last year was only 16.2%. Beavers nearly matching The King of Not Swinging. 18.7% would’ve been 4th best in the majors. As a 24-year-old! I almost wonder if Beavers isn’t aggressive enough. Buck up, Beavers, and stop building dental dams in your mind.
Dylan Beavers’s projections systems seem to hate him, but they usually hate all rookies. Actually, they hate everyone. Leave us alone, projections systems, with your negativity! If Beavers can cut his K% to 24% and walks ~12%, then I don’t know how he hits under .250. If he jumps on fastballs like he was in the minors, then I don’t see how he hits less than 17 dongers in a full season. Did I mention he also stole 23 bags in Triple-A last year? I did? Well, how about again? Don’t dare me into repeating it a third time. There’s an outside chance we do get the projections systems’ Beavers — hey now! — and he goes 10/10/.240 in 100 games, but that seems absurdly low. Give him 415 ABs and let him do a sweet almost 20/20 with upside, meaning he could be 25/25/.275 and what you wanted from Michael Harris II for the last what, six years? Okay, maybe not that, but speed/power rules. For 2026 fantasy, I’ll give Dylan Beavers projections of 52/17/63/.256/15 in 411 ABs with a chance for more.
12 team ottoneu points league
My $15 Luzardo for his $14 King and $11 Muncy
This format doesn’t have CI, but does have MI and 5 OF. Muncy would be my UTL since I already have Machado. If King is healthy and reverts to his 2024 form, it could be a steal. Especially if the glasses really helped Muncy. No penalty for K in this format, so Muncy was actually tied for 7th with Machado for P/G at 3B. There is obviously also a chance Luzardo was tipping his pitches and his overall numbers could be a lot better. The biggest negative in this format is home runs allowed. Thanks.
Seems like a worthwhile gamble
I really like what you’re doing with this year’s Fantasy Outlook series, focusing on a bunch of second-year guys with breakout potential. It’s especially helpful for dynasty and keeper leagues. Keep up the good work!
Thanks!
12 team ottoneu points league 2 catchers
Currently have $12 S Perez, $4 Moreno and $3 Herrera. Who would you look to shop for an upgrade elsewhere? Thanks.
P/G on this format, Herrera was by far the best, and Moreno was slightly better than Perez. Shop the more expensive catcher and save some money?
Yes, that makes sense
Think Brett batty is the starter in 2026 and has a breakout year?
Yes, and as of right now he’s in line for majority of 3B at-bats…We’ll see if they bring back Alonso
Hi Grey, I’m thankful for you and Razzball this Thanksgiving! Any nfbc drafts upcoming for Patreon members?
Ah thanks! We usually do get our first started around then don’t we? I can set one up, for sure
10-Team Roto Dynasty 6×6 $260 Salary Cap QS/IP and OBP/SLG – 40 man rosters:
Team A
Kyle Tucker – $27
Gunnar Henderson – $13
Team B
Paul Skenes – $9
Wyatt Langford – $9
I am Team A and need to shed some salary. I just traded a $2 Cade Horton and a third round pick for a $5 Zach Neto. I also have Bobby Witt Jr and my two utilities are Shohei Ohtani and Yordan Alvarez so I do not have a place for Neto unless Alvarez gains OF eligibility or I use Ohtani as a pitcher once in awhile. What are your thoughts on making that trade offer?
I don’t mind it, it could go either way but if you have to shed salary it makes sense for you
Thank you – I also have to drop or trade Machado at $40.
What about Machado and Michael King at $11 for Christopher Sanchez at $4?
What about Joe Ryan at $13 for Brent Rooker at $5?
I like Sanchez there
I’d take Rooker there
Shrinkage, that episode had me pissing in my pants! Poor Jason.
Hehe
Traded $12 Baz for $8 Turang? Clear win? Had a ton of SP and needed middle infield badly.
Turang
Jackson Holliday is an official failure at 21 playing in the major leagues? Man, that makes me look at my accomplishments at 21 in a whole new light……..
Haha, and no he’s not
How bullish are you on Durbin? Looking to make an offseason trade (before your rankings come out) to secure a 3b with some speed. Where do you have his auction price in 14 team keeper?
I like Durbin a lot…Maybe around $12-14
Thanks! I got it done for Kenley Jansen ;)
I thought that was Dennis Reynolds. The D.Y.L.A.N system
Hahaha
Good stuff Grey! The Cobblers getting moist (eww? Not eww!) just thinking about Beavers!
Agree 1 Hunnert that these prospects must, at least bat against most same-handed pitchers. If teams want to shield a lefty hitter from the very elite LHP, that’s fine. But they need to gain experience in the majors. Players in their early 20s are still on the upside of the career arc. They can improve! (Lol. I’ve turned into a Grey cult member haven’t I!)
Hey now! It really makes no sense, because these teams are hoping to get the best out of a prospect right? So why not let them at least prove you wrong for a year or three? Like you said, they can improve
Also, at what point do you relax in your preparation as a young lefty bat?
Are kids still working with the VR setups and taking a bunch of looks at lefties around the league if they’re never seeing them in games?
Then Baltimore trades Grayson for Ward, and gets pumped for the upside O’Neil brings with his 72 games played. Phew!….. Beaver blockers, the lot of em!
Also….So, no pitching again this year Balti? Makes perfect sense. It amazes me how blind some of these franchises are.
Thanks as always for a good read.
Thanks! Yeah, it’s about as goofy of an organization can be…They need pitching desperately, so what do they trade away?
I thought that trade was AI when I first saw it
Or just, you know, photoshop
*pokes head in open window*
Did someone say Photoshop? Because y’all know I have a notification whenever that word is used.
Haha.
Haha
