Everybody in the DFS world always talks about stacking Coors. Home runs fly out of there faster than a toupee in a hurricane. Nobody talks about the ill affects of Coors on the the offense that plays half of their games there. The Rockies are so fun to pick on away from home. They strikeout against lefties at one of the highest rates in baseball (heck Brett Anderson struck out 8 in 5.1 innings before the rain delay just last night). Less than 8 punch-outs for a man named Clayton Kershaw will be a disappointment today and he has an upside of 12 or more.

Julio Teheran, P: $8,200 – Marlins Park (and the Marlins offense) tends to do wonders for pitchers that are struggling. I think Teheran could return to his 2014 form today.
Jake Odorizzi, P: $7,900 – The Twins are near the bottom of the league in just about every statistical category that matters (K%, ISO, wOBA, Hard hit %, etc. etc. etc. etc.). Jake Odorizzi meanwhile sports a 2.09 ERA this season. This is a severe under-pricing.
Chase Anderson, P: $6,000 – (Insert mediocre pitcher facing the Phillies here)
Carlos Rodon, P: $5,600 – Rodon is an outstanding prospect who has been excellent out of the pen this year and is finally getting to start. The most difficult thing about the Athletics offense this season has been striking them out, but Rodon should have his fair share of those. He does in fact have 13.9 K/9 in his minor league career.
Buster Posey, 1B/C: $4,900 – Buster’s salary had dropped due to a slow start to the season, but it’s back up now thanks to a monster game on Wednesday. He is heating up, and we all know what MVPosey can do when he is hitting the ball well.
Lucas Duda, 1B: $3,900 – What am I missing here? Duda is a career slugger against righties and Kyle Lohse has already given up 10 HRs this year. $3,900 is too cheap.
Robinson Cano, 2B: $3,900 – Cano has consistently scored average amounts of DraftKings points over the last 8 games. He is slashing .344/.406/.794 over that time frame. He’s a very safe play with a lot of upside against a struggling Buchholz tonight.
Matt Carpenter, 3B: $4,500 – Matt Carpenter is almost always a good play. His floor is very high in DFS because he always gets on base and he scores a ton of runs. At $4,500, he’s a great play to guarantee you some points in your cash games.
Manny Machado, 3B: $4,000 – Machado hits righties way better than he hits lefties. I write about playing guys against Jered Weaver every Friday. Manny has an OPS of 1.006 over his last 8 games. I think you can put 2 and 2 together and figure out that he is a very good play.
Andrelton Simmons, SS: $4,100 – Andrelton has been on fire, so DraftKings jacked his price up to $4,700 for Wednesday’s game with the Reds only to see him go 0-4. His price came immediately back to earth. He’s a solid play today at a weak SS position.
Hanley Ramirez, OF/SS: $4,200 – HanRam had an outstanding game last night while most of us were sleeping going 4 for 5 with a double. His price will probably shoot up tomorrow, so you can have him for a discount today.
Bryce Harper, OF: $5,200 – If I would have wrote about DraftKings every day this week, Bryce Harper might have been on here every day. He walks enough to have a high floor and holds the MLB home run lead which speaks to his ceiling. Oh, and he is smoking the ball right now.
Joc Pederson, OF: $4,500 -Walks, Strikeouts, Home Runs. Theses are the only 3 things that Joc Pederson does. Eddie Butler has a 5.5 K/9 this year. Do all of the maths.
Mark Trumbo, 1B/OF: $4,300 – Mark Trumbo goes on these 3 to 4 game stretches of hammering the baseball, and then hits like .150 the rest of the season. He is on one of those power surges, so play him while you can.
Jacoby Ellsbury, OF: $5,000 – Chris Young will return to earth today. All of the advanced stats say he has to eventually. The Yankees hit righties so well that I think today is the day.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
I don’t think there will be any postponements today, but it would be a good idea to keep an eye on St. Louis/Detroit and Texas/Cleveland today
Doing Lines In Vegas
Vegas says today will be a low scoring day in general. That typically means you should find cheap pitching and pay for hitting (since runs come at a premium). The only games with an Over/Under of 9 are Angels/Orioles and Rangers/Indians
