The Royals lost 10-1 to the Yankees last night in a game where both Judge and Stanton went back-to-back. They are also on the verge of losing 4 straight games. The bats have to wake up and what better way to do it against the New York Yankees and Cody Poteet. Poteet’s outings have been inexplicably good, even against the Dodgers. This might be a risk, but tonight is the game he implodes, and the Royals are here to pounce. We’ll have a lot of Royals, but also find some other solid picks to create a winning lineup for tonight’s games that start at 7:10pm EST.

Bailey Falter, SP $6,500 – Prior to his last start, Falter was coming off a stretch of 4 straight quality starts, 3 of them providing 18 points or more. The last game was against the Dodgers, and that went about as expected. So, we’re banking on a nice bounce back game for Falter and hope that the Dodgers matchup isn’t a sign of his regression. The Cardinals offense has not been particularly good, and with Falter’s price at $6,500 that gives us plenty of opportunity to spend on some good bats.

Bryce Miller, SP: $9,00 – My Mariners fandom may backfire here, but Miller comes at a good price against the lowly White Sox. Like Falter, Miller is also coming off of a bad start where he gave up 7 runs in 5 innings. Miller can rack up the strikeouts in this one and should be able to keep the ball in the park against this weak White Sox lineup. If Luis Robert gets a day off, then this pick becomes even better.

Salvador Perez, C: $5,300 – Perez hasn’t hit a home run since May 29th, so it’s safe to say that he is due. His price point is a little high given his recent production, but we’re going to live and die by his long ball tonight. What more analysis do we need other than “he’s due”?

Jose Iglesias, 2B: $3,200 – When in the lineup, Iglesias has been solid for the Mets. He has a 1.002 OPS in 8 games. Lefty Braxton Garrett is on the mound for the Marlins, so Iglesias should get the start. This is a value pick due to spending some decent money on the Royals stack. We’d be quite satisfied if he reaches his average points of 7.1 tonight.

Maikel Garcia, 3B: $4,800 – Sticking with the Royals stack and we have a familiar face in this lineup of Maikel Garcia. There is potential that he gets an off-da, but assuming he’s in the lineup, we need him in the stack. He can get some steals, hit for power, and set the table for Witt and Perez. Hard to argue against having Garcia in the lineup when putting together a Royals stack.

Bobby Witt Jr, SS: $6,300 – What more needs to be said? Bobby Witt Jr. is a superstar and the catalyst for this Royals offense. We simply cannot stack the Royals without Witt in the mix. He puts up 11.2 FPPG and is no stranger to 20-point performances. I like grabbing players who can get us extra points with their legs. Witt has 19 steals on the season to go along with some nice power of 11 homers.

Wyatt Langford OF: $3,500 – Let’s have some fun with this one. Since returning from the IL, Langford has turned it around at the plate. He has 4 multi-hit games in his last 10, including a double and 2 triples. He’s starting to show some signs of the player we all thought he would be coming into the season. We can say we got in early when he wins us some money by getting him in our lineup at only $3,500.

Alex Verdugo, OF: $4,000 – We picked Verdugo last week at $4,300, so this just feels like we’re stealing him. He generally hits behind Soto and Judge, and when those guys aren’t mashing home runs, they’re getting on base and giving Verdugo the opportunity to drive in runs. I like him again in this lineup here today to have some solid production. I’ve said it a million times, teams HAVE to start pitching around Judge and Soto more, right?

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

As of 10am EST Wednesday, there is no potential for delays or rainouts. Right to left winds at about 10mph are predicted for the Cards/Pirates game. The wind seems to be blowing out for the Marlins/Mets game, so adding Pete Alonso to the lineup could be worthwhile. There are a plethora or options for players to swap out if needed. We went with Perez in the Catcher spot to leave some room for creativity at 1B. I’m not opposed to him being at 1B so that there’s more salary flexibility at the catcher position. Keep an eye on the lineups tonight because Luke Raley is a guy to keep an eye on at $3,600.

Doing Lines In Vegas

The Yankees/Royals have the highest over/under total of the slate at 10.5. This certainly has more to do with the Yankees than the Royals, but we’re being contrarian, so Royals it is. The Mariners are -245 against the White Sox with a total of only 7.5. Expect a solid outing from Miller.
