It’s Thursday, August 25th, 2022 and there is a six-game Main Slate on FanDuel at 7:05 pm Eastern time. There are some studs on the mound like Aaron Nola, Lance Lynn, Kevin Gausman, and Jacob deGrom. Aaron Judge ($4,800) is on a home run hitting streak and I am interested in him tonight! I wrote something down on my notecard this morning. It said, “Aaron Judge no matter what”. For real. There are some straight-up gas cans on the mound to take advantage of. It should make for a fun slate. There are DFS lineups to be made, so let’s make them!

Jameson Taillon, SP: $9,400 – Is Taillon the best pitcher on the slate? Heck no. But this is FanDuel where the win matters. Taillon is the fifth-most expensive pitcher yet has the second-best win odds and pitches in a great pitching park in Oakland. His 20.7% strikeout rate won’t win you a GPP but for a cash game, he should have a good floor on FanDuel.
Aaron Nola, SP: $10,800 – Jacob deGrom has a 45% strikeout rate and has crazy upside. His salary is also crazy high at $12.5K. Nola has the next highest strikeout rate on the slate at 28.5%. Is the extra 2-3 strikeouts worth $1,700 extra dollars? I am not sure about that as in a GPP I want to be able to have money to build a couple of stacks. For the price, Nola is my favorite pitcher tonight.
Daniel Vogelbach, C/1B: $2,800 – The Mets face Ryan Feltner with his 4.23 SIERA but also allows 1.59 HR/9. Vogelbach has a .354 OBP and a .213 ISO this season.
Rhys Hoskins, C/1B: $3,200 – Hoskins has a .340 OBP, a .227 ISO, and is facing Justin Dunn who has a 5.81 SIERA and is allowing 3.38 HR/9. Philadelphia all around is in a good spot here.
DJ LeMahieu, 2B: $3,000 – I want the batter that will bat ahead of Aaron Judge, especially when facing a pitcher in James Kaprielian that has a 5.11 SIERA. Oh and that .374 OBP definitely is great too.
Alec Bohm, 3B: $3,000 – Is Alec Bohm good now? He has a .362 wOBA in the second half of the season with four home runs.
Play Whoever You Want, SS: $2,000 – $3,000 – I generally don’t like this position tonight. When I don’t like a position, I just punt it as low as I can on a team with a good offense. That might mean going Oswaldo Cabrera or Isiah Kiner-Fafela for example. Ok, I lied. I like Francisco Lindor, but not at $3,700
Gavin Sheets, OF: $2,300 – We have to punt if we want to play Judge tonight. Sheets, batting in the middle of the order against Jordan Lyles, seems like the best punt play. I supposed you could go Jackie Bradley Junior at $2,100 playing back in Boston maybe having something special planned for the fans while hitting at the bottom of the order. You never know. I certainly don’t.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
No rain in the forecast. Should be a stress-free evening of lineup setting!
Doing Lines In Vegas
I will take Baltimore at +100. I am high on the White Sox tonight which means they will probably disappoint me so why not hedge here right?
