Master Standings are here.¬† They’ve been updated through Sunday, September 11.
Random ItalicizedVoice (RCL 5) and Better Lucky Than Good (Partially Torn RCL) continued their incredible seasons, sitting at 117 points each in individual league standings. With RCL 5 having the higher Competitive Index (CI) though, the Voice have stretched their lead in the overall standings to 6 points, 120-114, and will be tough to catch.
RIV had a solid week statistically, hitting .277 with 15 home runs and 56 RBI. They scored 54 runs and stole 9 bases. Victor Martinez hit 2 home runs and drove in 11 runs to lead the Voice, while Mike Morse hit 3 homers. Brett Lawrie had 2 long balls and 2 steals to continue an impressive start to his major league career.
On the pitching side, RIV recorded 4 wins and 5 saves, with an ERA of 1.91 and 1.17 WHIP. Joakim Soria pitched 4 scoreless innings and picked up 3 saves along the way. Nice outings from C.C. Sabathia, Jake Peavy, Aaron Harang, Roy Oswalt, and Mat Latos were enough to overcome Tim Hudson’s 6 inning 4-run performance Tuesday. Hudson was left on the bench Sunday, when he gave up 6 runs in 6 innings.
Pesky Pole Dancers (Trippin’ Baseballs) continue to hold on to third place with 112 points. Big Z’s Anger Management (RCL 33) is next with 108, followed by reverse schmohawks (RCL 17) and Nuclear Porcupines (RCL 3), who each have 107 points. Team Beefcake and Buchz and Dunn are tied atop the standings in Too Drunk to Call a Cabrera, and sit tied for 7th in the overall standings. Colicky Fuddruckers (League of Razz and Balls) and Bad Juju (Cracking The WHIP) round out the top 10.
The Buzz (Your Mom’s a Schmohawk) jumped from 96 to 105 points and moved up from 24th place to 12th. Retro Vertigo (ECFBL) gained 8 points and improved from 34th to 21st in the standings. The biggest jump of the week belonged to the Los Angeles Green Sox (Sonic Death Monkey), who went from 258th to 188th.

The ECFBL continues to have the highest CI, followed by The Dread Pirate Rides Again. Both leagues saw their index rise again this week, as they continue to compete while some leagues are seeing less activity as the season winds down.
There are now 17 days left in the season, which is plenty of time to improve your position in all categories. It is tough to gain in the ratio categories this late in the season, but it can be done. For instance, in the last 17 days, Lincecum in my Posey (The Beer League) hit .312 and raised their average from .261 to .267. True Blue Brew Crew    (Puff Puff Give) jumped from .263 to .268. Team Musz (RCL 34) lowered their ERA from 3.73 to 3.43 and their WHIP from 1.25 to 1.21. So, it is possible. Of course, the better your numbers are in these categories, the harder it is to improve them.
Good luck down the stretch!
