Jumped the gun a little on Christian Moore during the year. I was told by someone in the Angels’ Know-What that Christian Moore was being called up at the end of the year, then [raspberries lips]. Think it had less to do with me or that person in the Know-What being wrong and Moore’s non-promotion had, uh, more to do with his knee injury he suffered in September. He returned before the end of the year, and looks fine now. Excuse me, looking at his numbers and he’s more F-I-N-E like he’s being described in an R&B song. Before his knee injury and when I thought he was headed to the majors, I said, “Angels have been incredibly aggressive with prospects half as good as Neto and Schanuel, and Moore is actually a stud. He could’ve likely skipped the minors altogether. Christian Moore was a big baseball player in college — 33 HRs, 4SBs, .384, 14% K%. He made Itch’s top 50 prospects post-draft update.” And that’s me quoting me! His numbers this year in the minors: 6/2 in only 101 ABs with a .322 average in 23 Double-A games. He clobbered the ball everywhere he’s been. Let’s get on the other side of the segue and look at clips. So, what can we expect from Christian Moore for 2025 fantasy baseball?
Hey, good to see you again! Here’s Christian Moore pulverizing (the homer is at 00:45 if you don’t want to watch the whole thing):

I briefly mentioned in the opening that he had a knee injury. Christian Moore had a torn meniscus, so it wasn’t like he had an itsy bruise. Angels said he would return quickly and he did about two weeks later, so I guess he has Predator meniscuses (menii? Sung like 50 Cent, “Menii Men, wish death upon me…”). All offseason to recuperate should help him completely heal (one would hope), so I’m not overly concerned. ACKSUALLY, I’m more concerned about Ron Washington blowing a line off his Camaro dashboard and deciding Moore has to put in his time in the minors before he’s promoted. After Wash made Neto, Rengifo and Adell put in dues while Drury, Rendon and other vets sucked up the joint, I’m not convinced Moore won’t have to serve some time in Triple-A this year and then hit himself out of the eight-hole. Should he be up immediately and hitting third? Yes, he’s better than 75% of the Angels’ lineup right now.
His hit tool has been untested, which leaves us with: Can he be tested? Christian Moore has not found a level in baseball that he can’t handle. In Double-A, he had a 29.6% K%, which conservatively is going to translate to “Jo Adell type strikeouts” in the majors, but it was such a small sample size and he hits the ball so hard (he still hit .322 with a .429 BABIP) that his average can handle some Ks. In college, he had a 24.3 K% his sophomore year, but that was down to 14.2 K% his Junior and final year. So, all this together reads to me like a power-hitting 2nd baseman who might hit .230 his rookie year, and could break camp and struggle for counting stats if Wash wants him to prove himself to be better than Niko Kavadas (not a made-up name). It’s hard to say now. He’s worth a flyer in deeper leagues, in case he breaks camp, but he might be ticketed for the minors to start. For 2025 fantasy baseball, I’ll give Christian Moore projections of 36/12/33/.234/3 in 304 ABs with a chance for much Moore.
With a chance for much Moore. I see what you did there, you sly dog you.
Hehe
Nice! When should we expect the Kyren Paris and Ty France Outlooks for 2025?
Haha, not Nice, it’s too far! Just arrived at Kyren
Haha, time to paté…
Hahaha
For next year Connor Norby….Kristian Campbell or Christian Moore 13 team dynasty 5×5 thank you!!
Norby
Will Emmanuel Rodriguez be a player you profile? Curious to hear your thoughts on him.
He was written up, yup
looking forward to it. thanks.
No problem
Baltimore is moving left field back in. 20’ in one SPOT AND 9’ in an other but mostly about 11’. Not sure if that makes to much of a difference. Considering Mountcastle would have 11 more home runs more during the 3 year period. Does that change anyone draft positions on the O’s
It has changed some of the O’s ranks from ones I’ve done already
They’re expecting that Gleyber won’t be in the AL East to hurt them anymore. It’s safe to go back now.
Yes and hello again Mountcastle
