Happy hump day everyone! I can’t believe is the last of the regular season, 6 months just flew by. A large chunk of teams have started resting players. We’ve seen plenty of guys go on the IL over the last couple days as well. Teams you should be safe to pick from include Yankees, Mariners, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Dodgers, Giants, Phillies, Braves, and Astros. It’s okay to go elsewhere but look at game logs and lineups to see how their respective teams are managing them.

Hard to believe there’s only 9 days left in the MLB season. It truly has been a grind and I hope your hard work has paid off. As we try to finish strong, keep an eye on the standings and matchups. Teams have already started to limit young and high-risk players’ PA and innings. Innings and PA are the life blood of fantasy baseball and especially DFS. Opportunity is king just as much as talent and we don’t want to lose it because of oversight. We shouldn’t have much of that to worry about tonight as all the contenders on the slate still have something to play for.

As we start to wind down the season, it will important to recognize teams and players who are still pushing for the playoffs or single season awards. Teams with nothing to play for will start to rest guys and remove them late in games. We don’t want to be sacrificing precious ABs because of oversight. There should be plenty of offense to go around tonight. There is an abundance of mediocre pitching tonight and many of them find themselves in hitters parks.

There should be plenty of offense to go around tonight. Pitching will be tough to come by. The top 5 pitchers in terms of salary all have warts in my eyes. Wainwright shouldn’t be $10k, much less against the Dodgers. Eovaldi is far from elite and the Rays have the 4th best wRC+ against RHP since the trade deadline. Manoah is Yankee stadium; Peralta’s pitch count will likely continue. Shane McClanahan is tempting but he gave up 4 ERs to Boston in his last start and LHP tend to struggle in Fenway.

We are scheduled for a 10-game slate, however, I think that will be 9 with rain forecasted all night in Philly. It’s a tough slate to gauge. Carlos Rodon and Chris Sale continue to work their way back off the IL, Rodon will be on a pitch count, Sale has hovered around 80 pitches in the last couple of starts. Aaron Nola is likely not an option because of the weather, leaving the rest of the starting pitcher pool fairly bare in terms of depth.

Happy Ohtani day to all those who observe. The playoff picture is rounding into form as we near the end of August. There’s a big series in Milwaukee as the Reds try to keep their division hopes alive against the Brewers. The Padres play host to the Dodgers as they try to keep their playoff bid alive. We’ll also get a MLB pitching debut along with a handful of aces, both past and present.

We should have a full slate of 10 games tonight as the weather shouldn’t play a factor. There’s a nice blend of up-and-coming aces in Freddy Peralta, Shohei Ohtani, and Jack Flaherty along with the old guard of Lance Lynn, Charlie Morton, and Zack Greinke. There is also plenty of mediocre pitching to attack as well. Sheerly from a fan of the game, this might be one of the best slates to watch of the year. Let’s build a winning lineup and sit back and soak it up. After all, we’re only 6 weeks away from the postseason.

We are officially into the dog days of summers. Where has the time gone? NFL teams are all in camp and the Hall of fame game was last week. Tonight, however, we will have a full 10 game slate. Pitching will be hard to come by tonight. There aren’t any true aces on the slate and plenty of mediocre pitchers toeing the rubber. That, along with a heatwave over the central and eastern parts of the country, offense should be plentiful.

Happy hump day everyone! The first week of DFS after the deadline is always an interesting one. Pay close attention not only to playing time, but where they are batting in the order. The Cubs are the prime example, shipping out 3 of their stars, opening plenty of prime real estate at the top of their order. After all, fantasy sports, above all else, is about opportunity.

My biggest advice for tonight and in the coming days is to pay close attention to lineup updates by beat writers. Only a couple of days left until the trade deadline and I suspect it will be a very busy one. Fantasy, especially DFS is all about opportunity and maximizing PAs. We don’t want to lose a player by “setting and forgetting” and have someone scratched right before the first pitch. Personally, I use @fantasylabsmlb and turn on notifications. They post lineups as well as updates and trades. Could save you some time if you don’t feel like stalking multiple beat writer accounts.
