Don’t be confused, I don’t want you to pass on Alex Cobb today. I want you to inhale his awesomeness and value today and play play play him. Usually an $8,100 play on an off day Monday should be reason enough to convince many of you to go with the Cobb. Oh no J-FOH, he has to go on the road to Oaktown and face the Amazing A’s!  I know I know diligent commenter but over his short career he owns a 1.80 ERA at the O.Co with 13 K’s in 15 innings. Career against them he sports a 2.78 ERA over 35.2 innings with 28 K’s. The only player on the A’s that has been his killer is Coco Crisp who has been out with a nagging neck injury. I like the start a lot and Stream-O-Nator is pretty neutral on him at a $7.5 dollar play. Cobb has been getting back into the form (July stats: 2.23 ERA in 32.1 innings with 36 K’s) that made him such a highly touted pitcher coming into the year. To close out 2013 he had a mid 2 ERA with 58K’s in 59.2 innings and is looking like he has found himself again. You could say he is hitting his montage scene for 2014.  Montage? Hhmmmm… Ok I’m inspired now and here are some classic 80’s montage’s off the top of my head for you guys to have some fun with: Real Genius, Back to School, Better off Dead, and the greatest motivator for you to finish 2014 strong montage. Speaking of 80’s movies, my buddy the Birdman’s buddy Chazz, who I met at the bachelor party, looks like the perfect 80’s campy movie villain. He would be an Alpha Beta in Revenge of the Nerds or challenge me to ski the K-12 in Better Off Dead or even get the other Cobra Kai’s to hold me so he can kick my ass. Chazz is rad to the max to hang with. For realzzz.

If you still aren’t sure about DraftKings then lets change the words around and say let’s play King of the Draft. How’s that for you? You think you have what it takes to be king of the hill? The high hog of the trough? The top of the heap? You get what I’m saying. The worst thing that happens is you lose a few bucks you would of spent on something else you don’t need in your life and if you are a stickler for the monthly budget then live a little and mix it up. I’m kidding though, you can also play for free but why not throw down a little scratch and challenge some readers and writers at Razzball and take our pride and money. Ralph has been really good at roaming the comments to pick up any new players that post their info so go sign up, post your handle and Ralph will get you in. It’s that easy.

New to DraftKings? Scared of feeling like a small fish in a big pond? Well try out this 20 teamer of Razzball writers and friends to wet your DK whistle. Just remember to sign up through us before you do. It’s how we know you care!

Corey Kluber, SP: $9,800 – I love this guy but his price was too high for the lead. Kluber Lang has been one of the top dogs over the last month and just like in all other forms of fantasy you play the hot hand. I highly doubt I’m telling you anything you don’t know but I look for any chance to get a Mr.T clip into a post!

Tyler Flowers, C: $3,700 – It’s an off day and I’m going for a stack against the Rangers if it doesn’t rain. Flowers has been hot lately and like flowers in the house he makes everything smell better. Be prepared to swap out if it rains.

Adam LaRoche, 1B: $4,200 – With all the elite pitchers out there today, I’m gambling on the odds against the lower tiered. Kevin Gausman has already dished up a long ball to LaRoche in his only appearance against. Good enough for me. I’m always looking for value for you guys and 4 girl readers.

Ian Kinsler, 2B: $4,400 – I’m liking a Motown stack against Brandon McCarthey today who after putting on a clinic in July saw him give up 4 runs to the Rangers last time out. C’mon McCarthy, they are the worst team in baseball. Kinsler is what he is and that means pretty darn good this year. Who got the better end of that Fielder trade?

Miguel Cabrera, 1B/3B: $5,600 – The thinnest position on the day and I cant help but make Miggy the jewel of my roster. This is one of the plays when I talk about saving here to pay a little higher over there. Well this is over there. Welcome, Skipper will get you a cocktail and a nice seat with a view.

Dee Gordon, SS: $4, 400 – I’m raining dollars all over the place today and I like to play a speed card if I can. Dee has been on a blazing path lately (6 SB’s in the last 9 games) and I don’t see it slowing down. Today is a sorta rivalry game (not in my opinion) so I can see some runs getting scored.

Torii Hunter, OF: $4,300 – I’m stack attacking and I promise this is the last Tiger. He has the best career numbers of all the other Tigers vs. McCarthy (8 for 16 with 3 doubles and a HR). I hope this hunter will be gathering lots of stats today.

David Murphy, OF: $3, 500 – Hey I know this guy. I set you all up with him on a week long man-date yesterday. He rewarded my love with a dong yesterday and has been hotter than Sky’s new haircut (I’m only assuming he got it cut but we’re all pulling for it at the Razzball offices). I have a feeling the Indians are going to make some noise tomorrow against Alfredo “I don’t get it” Simon.

Bryce Harper, OF: $4,300 – this is my hunch pick today. A lefty on righty off day after a day off play. Harper is much better than he has been and I am waiting for things to change. Maybe getting the day off Sunday is the thing that gets this started.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

The TEX@CWS is the only game calling for rain today. With scattered thunder-storms before the game in the forecast and showers called for during the game leaves me a little pissed off. I like a White Sox stack if the game is on and like Flowers tomorrow if he plays so watch closely. Everywhere else is looking good with either sun or clouds but no chance for rain. There is a 11 mph wind blowing out to right field at the O.Co so get your lefties in the line up.

Doing Lines In Vegas

This is the lowest scoring day I have ever wrote about. My favorite stack is loved by Vegas too as the TEX@CWS comes in at 9. The DET@NYY is at 7 1/2 and I’m thinking most those runs will be scored by the Tigers with Mad Max on the hill. The rest of the games sit at 7 or 6 1/2 and that kinda blows for offenses. Let’s just hope we pick the guys that actually do something.
