“Face down (in Statcast) and Keasc up? That’s the way I like my fantasy baseball sleepers!” That’s Uncle Luke, the original unc. Smart to see what others are saying first, so, here’s what I found first from Jeremy Brewer, “For all the rookies making a big impact on the fantasy game this year, Luke Keaschall has flown under the radar in part due to a broken forearm he suffered shortly after his April call-up. That setback has limited him to just 28 games in 2025, but the results have still been impressive as he’s produced 65% above league average while manning second base for the Minnesota Twins. In that short sample, he’s tallied four homers, seven steals, 31 combined runs and RBI, and a .324 batting average. Just as importantly, Keaschall has nearly walked as much as he’s struck out, carrying over a hallmark trait from his minor league track record. Flash back to 2024, when he hit .303 with 15 homers and 23 steals across multiple minor league levels. That profile established him as a potential 20/30 threat, and the early returns in Minnesota suggest he’s carrying that same skill set into the majors where he’s already batting third or fourth on most nights for the Twins.

Digging deeper, the speed is real, backed by an 82nd-percentile sprint speed. His plate discipline should draw comparisons to Alex Bregman, and he’s shown little trouble handling a variety of pitches at the major-league level. There are a few areas to monitor, such as struggles against left-handed pitching in a limited sample and a below-average bat speed. Still, for a player who’s likely to be drafted in the late rounds next year, there’s a lot to like. With a full season of playing time, Keaschall has a very real path to making a significant fantasy impact.” Welp, what more do I need to say? Okay, fine, I’ll try. So, what can we expect from Luke Keaschall for 2026 fantasy baseball and what makes him a sleeper?

PSYCHE! I’m currently rolling out my 2026 fantasy baseball rankings on the Patreon. Don’t wait for the rankings to come out next month. Anyway II, the Luke Keaschall sleeper:

His Statcast page looks like the polar opposite of my Addison Barger sleeper.

Mostly how his exit velocities are meh but he’s squaring everything up. It reminds me of Caleb Durbin too. These Statcast color sliders aren’t everything though. Here’s another guy’s:

Any guesses? I bet you an over-the-internet million dollars that you’ll never guess who it is. “An over-the-internet million dollars” means you’ll never collect so don’t work too hard to figure it out. It’s Jose Altuve. Keaschall is better than Altuve in 2026? One could say that.

On fastballs, Luke Keaschall hit .318, .407 on offspeed, and .208 on breaking balls. That was in 182 ABs. How long does it take for MLB pitchers to figure out to throw a guy more breaking balls? You could guess 183 at-bats. You might be right about that. That’s my big concern. Twins stunk up the joint and no one cared to figure out how to get out Keaschall. If he’s hitting out of the three or two-hole on Opening Day, there might be more incentive to figure out how to pitch him. That doesn’t change he had a 14% strikeout rate on the year and 17.2% last year in the minors as a 21-year-old. He’s 23 now; he skipped age 22? No, please learn ages. Also, in 464 MiLB at-bats in 2024, he went 15/23/.303. It was mostly at Double-A, but he hit .302 last year in the majors. Average doesn’t seem to be a big concern. He had a 60-grade hit tool and he is incredibly poised at the plate for a young kid. He had a .382 OBP as a 22-year-old in the majors. Who is this, Juan Soto with speed? No, he’s a righty and he might not have the power

ACKSUALLY, Luke Keaschall’s power seems less that he doesn’t have it and more that he doesn’t flex it. Sometimes those guys don’t hit for power to begin with and come on later. Maybe not later as in this year. If he can hit that homer above, I think he can hit 20 homers without trying that hard. He really shouldn’t have expired his rookie eligibility, but did likely because Baldelli was realizing he was going to get fired unless something miraculous happened, so he tried for a miracle by starting Keaschall every day. Oh, speaking of which, Keaschall is a righty. Uppercase Yay, no platoons!

Let’s recap quickly: Speed real; plate discipline very real; power looks real but maybe more 15-homer than 30; potential real gorgeous spot in the lineup; Real Love by Mary J. Blige but about me singing for Luke Keaschall. I like Luke. This feels like a no-brainer sleeper. You’re looking at a guy who might be a top five 2nd baseman and drafted as an afterthought. For 2026 fantasy baseball, I’ll give Luke Keaschall projections of 74/16/71/.283/32 in 547 ABs with a chance for much more, especially on power.

Great stuff. Fantasy baseball never sleeps! Looking forward to January Grey. 12 team points league. We use two UTs and three outfielders (LF, CF, RF). We can keep b/w 6-10 players (keep forever, no draft round forfeit). I am leaning towards:

1. Bobby Witt, Jr. – SS, KCR (700 pts)
2. FTJ – RF, SDP (685 pts)
3. Kyle Tucker – RF, CHC (634 pts)
4. Vinnie Pasquantino – 1B, KCR (623 pts)
5. Bo Bichette – SS, TOR (583 pts)
6. Steven Kwan – LF, CLE (580 pts)
7. Tarik Skubal – SP, DET (24 ppg)
8. Cole Ragans – SP, KCR

I also have Byron Buxton CF, Ozzie Albies 2B, Nolan McLean SP, and Jacob Misiorowski SP.

Would you add any of those three as keepers? If you don’t keep your full slate of 10 keepers, you get to pick first, based on last year’s finish (I was 3rd place). My thoughts was, If I don’t keep all 10, maybe a player I really cover (like Keaschal) will be available to me.

I know, tough to predict and lots of variables. Just wanted to see if you would absolutely keep any of the above. Buxton was “relatively” healthy last year. Do I want to bank on that again!?

Thanks boss1

In a keep-by-round H2H Categories league. 8 keepers. Who would you keep and who would you throw back (pick 3 from below)? My league has a “Winter Meetings” coming up so trying to plan out who I might keep and who I might trade away. Keeping already: Shohei Ohtani, Bobby Witt Jr, Bryce Harper, Junior Caminero, Kyle Schwarber.

Riley Greene (round 7)
Corey Seager (round 1)
Kyle Bradish (round 25)
Cam Schlittler (round 25)
Trey Yesavage (round 25)

Appreciate your opinion! I kind of had the same overall lean and the Schlittler vs Yesavage debate is a tough one. Feels like one of those where whichever one I don’t choose ends up being an ace haha.

Off this subject; why did Phili sign Adolis Garcia? Castellanos has more in the tank…. Do you think this affects Crawford, or is CF his?

He plays better than his talent level. Plus, he now has Josh Bell to protect him. Pittsburgh must be seething to see their DH, sign with MN….. Is Pitt going to land the last unwanted-unsigned-over priced free agent, for too much money, then quit buying, and say they are trying? Josh Bell! Geez.

Love Keasch this year…would it be crazy to keep him in a deep roto OBP league over PCA if the prices were similar?
