While his overall results haven’t been ideal, Mets starter Zack Wheeler ($10,700) has been fire this season. His 3.50 FIP and 3.24 Deserved Run Average suggest that he’s pitched much better than his ERA, and his 26.0% K-rate and 6.1% walk-rate are both career bests. Wheeler dominated the White Sox for seven scoreless innings his last time out, and should have another big performance tonight at home against the Marlins. Miami has been the worst offense in baseball against right-handed pitching according to their awful .281 wOBA, and their 25.3% strikeout-rate is extremely high. Wheeler is well worth the investment as your ace tonight.

Dinelson Lamet, SP: $6,500– If you’re looking to save at starting pitcher, Lamet is one of the cheapest options at the position and can provide a valuable start. He’s got 30 strikeouts in 23 innings, and faces a Mariners lineup that has a 26.9% K-rate in the last month, the second-highest mark in that span.
Mike Ford, 1B: $2,300– Ford batted fifth for the Yankees last night, which is a tremendous spot for RBI production against the abysmal Orioles pitching staff. He had a 1.007 OPS in triple-A prior to his call up, already went deep in yesterday’s contest, and can be had for nearly the minimum price.
Rougned Odor, 2B: $3,300– It seems like every year that Odor has a stretch where he’s one of the best fantasy players in the league. We’re in the midst of that right now, as he’s been unstoppable over the last two weeks, batting .333 with a 1.119 OPS and six home runs. Consider him in GPP tournaments for his upside against Zach Plesac, owner of a 5.23 FIP.
Matt Chapman, 3B: $3,400 – Chapman has dominated left-handed pitching this year with a 152 wRC+. He faces a southpaw in Jon Lester and is in a great position to rack up counting stats batting third for the A’s.
Tim Anderson, SS: $3,000– Anderson will be batting second against a lefty this afternoon, which is much better for his production than his usual spot in the seven-hole. He’s having a breakout season, batting .312 with 12 homers and 15 steals, and gets an easy matchup in opposing starter Daniel Norris, who has a 4.67 ERA.
Jarrod Dyson, OF: $3,000– Dyson hasn’t really been a good hitter this year, but he’s still batting leadoff for the Diamondbacks. That makes him an attractive play in cash games, as an extra plate appearance or two significantly raises his floor. Additionally, he should be able to score against Jake Arrieta and his 4.87 FIP.
Hunter Renfroe, OF: $2,900– Renfroe is another lefty-masher we can take advantage of, as he’s got a 1.049 OPS against left-handed pitching with just an 18.9% K-rate. Mariners starter Wade LeBlanc has a 1.97 HR/9 and a 5.17 ERA, so Renfroe can do lots of damage batting cleanup.
Jorge Soler, OF: $3,200– Soler already has 29 home runs this year, and his power can be fully unleashed in an extreme hitter’s environment in Boston. Andrew Cashner has a 7.34 ERA since joining the Red Sox, giving Soler lots of upside tonight.
