Good Saturday to you folks.  With today being Derby Day you know everyone wants to get some action on the horses, but I’ve got some tips on getting in on tonight’s baseball action.  FanDuel has a sweet 10 game main slate tonight that includes a game at Coors field, so let’s jump right in. My favorite play for tonight is not for the faint of heart, but could put you at a distinct advantage against the field.  Yonny Chirinos ($7,600) won’t be listed a probable starter as the Rays will likely be deploying an “opener”.  This is important since most people have the box checked in FanDuel to “Only show probable pitchers”.  That means Yonny will be very low owned. On a slate with no sure-fire ace pitcher and honestly, a lot of “blah” at pitcher, Yonny could pay nice returns.  He’s facing the incredibly bad Orioles lineup, which should earn him a win in the 6 or so innings he’s likely to pitch. I like the risk vs. reward on this play, especially in a GPP.

New to FanDuel? Scared of feeling like a small fish in a big pond? Well, be sure to read our content and subscribe to the DFSBot for your daily baseball plays. Just remember to sign up through us before jumping into the fray. It’s how we know you care!

Jake Arrieta, SP: $9,200 – As I mentioned above, there’s no slam-dunk ace for a cash game play tonight, it’s a toss-up between Hill and Arrieta, but I’ll lean Arrieta due to home field advantage and not growing a new blister every other day.  The Nats have looked pretty punchless of late with no Rendon in the lineup. So, if you’re not feeling the risk of Yonny, fire up Jake.

Trevor Williams, SP: $7,900 – Williams comes in slightly safer and almost as cheap as my boy Yonny.  Williams is at home and facing the A’s, who have gotten out to a slow start. I’m digging the cheaper pitchers on this slate so you can load up on bats and just hope your pitcher doesn’t put you out of the running.

Pete Alonso, C/1B: $4,000 – There will be plenty of room for Coors bats, but we might as well squeeze in some Miller bats as well.  Alonso will be facing what’s left of Gio Gonzalez’s career and I like Pete’s chances.

Nate Lowe, C/1B: $2,400 – I love when rookies get called up on FanDuel and end up severely underpriced for a few days.  Lowe has enough pop to make this salary pay big returns.

Wilmer Flores, 2B: $3,100 – Here’s our first cheap Coors bat as Flores will have the platoon advantage on Kyle Freeland.

Rougned Odor, 2B: $2,600 – Cheaper still is Odor who gets to face something called a Sean Reid-Foley and the rest of the Blue Jays bullpen.  I’ll be looking to get some Ranges in tonight’s lineups.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., 3B: $2,700 – You’ll want to be in at the cheap price point for Vlad’s first monster game.

Andrelton Simmons, SS: $3,100 – Shortstop is a little rough tonight, I’m either eating the chalk with Story, going a little cheaper with Ahmed or dipping down here to pick on Wade Miley with Andrelton.

Adam Jones, OF: $4,000 – Jones is practically must play at this price.  I’d also check on Ramiel Tapia ($3,300) to see if he’s in the lineup.

Starling Marte, OF: $3,400 – This is much too cheap for Marte’s talent level.  Just playing the numbers here.

Josh Reddick, OF: $3,100 – Reddick has been en fuego and clearly his price hasn’t adjusted accordingly.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

There is possible light rain in LA for the Angels game, but I don’t buy it.  Otherwise, the coast is clear tonight.

Doing Lines In Vegas

Naturally, we have a 10.5 over/under in Coors, but the TOR@TEX tilt is right behind with a 10 spot.  Load up those Rangers. OAK@PIT and LAD@SD share the smallest total on the night with a 7.5 over/under.  That makes me even more confident in Trevor Williams. Eduardo Rodriguez and the Sawx are the biggest favorites tonight at -165, but I’m not trusting a Red Sox pitcher right now.
