Razzball’s weekly look around the minors is back for 2012.  In case you’ve forgotten, this is where we’ll highlight notable performances by fantasy-relevant prospects.  We’ll keep track of any minor league storylines which might carry fantasy significance here, too.  In this first edition we’ll get things started with baseball’s top prospect, Bryce Harper, who’s off to a slow start at Triple-A Syracuse.  Please, blog, may I have some more?

I hate guys that are injured before the season even starts.  I should’ve emphasized that more in the preseason.  I should’ve followed my gut on that with Stanton too.  At least Stanton can play through the nagging pain (hopefully), on the other hand, Mike Morse is shut down for 6 weeks and he has a history of injuries.  Please, blog, may I have some more?

Did you hear the one about how so-and-so is no longer a closer but this guy is but he’s not anymore because the other guy is now?  Well, you’re about to.  Herewithin (which I don’t think is a word, but should be), we go around to every bullpen and then make up teams and make up closers for those made-up teams and talk about those too.  Please, blog, may I have some more?

Even though major league teams have only played 3 or 4 games, RCL managers have been extremely active, averaging 50 moves per league. 10.6% of rostered players were picked up from the free agent pool. Factoring in players on the DL, you’re still left with the fact that 8% of drafted players have been dumped after only 3 full days of action. Please, blog, may I have some more?
