Just to clear my head the other day, I threw on some bicycle shorts, jumped in my El Dorado and went for a spin. Cause that’s how guys with a ‘stache roll. If you didn’t know, know you do. Consider yourself informed. As I was rocking out to some Don Henley, I was thinking back on some guys that helped me win leagues last year. John Axford – Thanks, Ax-Man! CarGo, you DaMan! All She Wants To Do Is Dance DANCE! Thanks, Konerko, we had some good times! Hey, Posey, I enjoyed your production! Can’t feel the HEAT… Coming off the STREET… Hey, Jayson Nix– Actually, you weren’t much of a help. Hey, someone dropped Jon Rauch, don’t mind if I do. Why such a long face, Chris Perez? I’ll own you… In the non-biblical way! She wants to party, she wants to GET DOWN! Having worked up a bit of an appetite for some roast beef, I pulled off the freeway in search of an Arby’s. As I hit the side streets, I thought two things: number one, I had no idea what waiver position I was in when I used it for any of those schmohawks. Number two, why was I in Anaheim?
The preceding was a fancy way of saying, “USE YOUR WAIVER CLAIM!” (Caps for emphasis and the people reading over your shoulder.) Who gives an effin’ eff in the eff hole what waiver claim position you’re in? While you’re holding onto your waiver claim like Cowboy Jon from The Real World: Los Angeles holds onto his virginity, your leaguemates are going to be winning your league. Because, guess what, Maverick? Cowboy Jon is still a virgin and he’s like 57 years old!
You don’t want to be Cowboy Jon praying Mike Moustakas comes up in June while you sit in 8th place not even needing a corner man. Or are you holding your waiver claim because you’re afraid someone is going to drop Prince Fielder? Who are you, John Q. Law? This is your job why? Wait, even better. If you’re in a league with a guy who wears fancy dungarees and who would drop Prince Fielder, you shouldn’t be in that league. If you need a guy for your roster, then claim him. While your leaguemates are waiting for someone they deem worthy of a pickup, you’ll be grabbing all kinds of other players that are immediately useful. Remember…. Rebels been rebels since I don’t know WHEN… And all she wants to do is dance!

Best … Razzball … EVER!!!
You da MAN, Grey!
I make it easy. I never sit on my waiver claim long enough to make it to #1, and then I never have to worry about whether or not to use it!
People really do this? I always assumed that someone having the number one spot meant they left the league or died.
word grey: And I recommend burning it early just so you aren’t afraid to put in a claim for the next guy. I dont know if anyone was waiting on Maybin in my league this morning, but I burnt my priority again to make SURE that i got him back after i kinda quickly/dumbly dumped his 3-4 days ago….
Grey I need you and your mustache to put ur collective heads together and help me out. In 12 team, razzball commenter league I’ve been offered a trade. I get Josh Johnson, I give A-Rod. Now I know that seems like a possible low offer for A-rod , but 2 things. 1 josh is my favorite player in baseball (Which actually has nothing to do with helping my team or not) but more improtantly, 2. no one in this league is giving me any pitching. i tried to move sandoval, but got nothing. im pitching desperate. so ill lay out my roster, tell me if 1. my hitting is still great, and 2. if i should do this

@Mike from Jersey:
i forgot to add in arod to that. obviously if i dont do the trade, arods in my lineup, if i do, i have josh johnson.
Ogando with another good start today against the Tigers. Drop Edwin Jackson, Kyle Drabek, or Narv-Dog for him? I don’t think so, just fishing for an pinion on Ogando after today.
@Grey
Ogando is dealin right now. Ogando or Drabek?
So you’re saying the waiver wire will NOT be strong after the boys of summer are gone*?
*claimed off waivers
@Mike from Jersey: no dice, keep AROD< you can find waiver gems, there will be no waiver pick up to replace AROD…. at 3B? no way. If your leaguemates wont deal then sit, its week 2!
@gray. ogando, narveson, lowe i need to choose 2 of the 3, any thoughts?
@Rodger-Dodger: Thanks!
@El Famous Burrito: Ha!
@Tony: Nice
@Mike from Jersey: Agree with Tony.
@ltf: I’d hold.
@DP: Tomato-tomahto… Ogando may not stay in the rotation.
@ChrisV82: Nice
@Garvey’s Illegitimate child: Ogando, Narveson…
Grey: Narveson or Beachy… I think you’ll side with a sunny day at the Beachy, right?
But Grey, when you lose your #1 waiver it’s…it’s…the end of the innocence.
AL only league, 10 teams, 4 x 4 (AVG, RBI, HR, SB & W, WHIP, ERA, S). Auction League with keepers.
I’m currently in first place (which means soooo much in April). Where are the holes in my team?

I have four arms to fill three spots in a deep mixed H2H-Points league.. Who sits this week?
Hammel @NYM (Pelfry), vsCHC (Coleman)
Chacin vsCHC (Garza)
Hudson vsSF (Cain)
Anderson @CHW (Danks)
Hammel is the weakest arm, but it is two starts in H2H-Points…
@Grey: Walden or Ogando in the RP slot? I can drop Narveson, Walden, Nathan or Wood for him…
Billingsley and Beltran for Shoo. Good trade for me…or great trade for me?
People who play in leagues that don’t use FAAB might as well play in 6-team mixed leagues.
PS. I get Shoo
@Rob:
depends on the league type, size, format. But you’re getting the best player in the deal, so I’d say you did well.
@ujoh:
agee with you 100%. I don’t get those waiver claim leagues. What is that an ESPN thing?
Sandoval and McClellan or Lind and Kennedy?
@Pops: depends on needs, but I’m going Lind side. Who knows if Duncan’s magic pitching fairy dust will work on McClellan.
Not that this applies to me, but does this advice apply to AL/NL only leagues? In those leagues, it is entirely possible for a guy of the caliber of Prince Fielder to magically appear as a free agent solely due to guys changing leagues due to trades.
Thanks for the smiles Grey.
Which suprise/unexpected ‘hot’ pitcher and hitter do you think will actually contribute well above their forecasted expectations? Also, which pitcher and hitter would you go out of your way to trade for before their value explodes (in a positive way)?
As always…mucho grassy-ass amigo!
@Mo: this helped me win an NL-only league a few years back when Tex got dealt to the Braves. I had the #1 claim and got dibs on him when he swapped leagues. I would still say use your claims, it just so happened that I had the #1 claim, I hadn’t saved it for anything, because (as I’m sure Grey will tell you) who knows if/when anyone of value will be dealt across the AL/NL lines.
Zimm to the DL…what a surprise. I’m already regretting passing on Tex in the 2nd rd.
And another nicely written missive as usual, Mr Albright.
Rumor is that Ryan Zimmerman is headed to the DL with one of those oblique thingamajig injuries. What the hell is going on this year?
@Nomar Mr. Nice Guy: Beachy, Rudy’s taking Narveson.
@Long Bawls: Ha
@Dom: Your hitting looks like it’s risky, injury prone and average liability. Nothing terrible though, team looks solid overall.
@Commish Cauda: Hammel
@Fletch: Walden…
@Rob: Take Choo.
@Pops: Lind
@Mo: You’re gonna hold your waiver until the end of July for the hope someone is traded into your league? I wouldn’t.
@Dr. Stats: Thanks, but your question is very vague.
@Eng: Thanks!
@Wilsonian: Yup
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH GANDO!
A friend has been trying to tell me that Gio Gonzalez is a mediocre pitcher. His reasoning is that he doesn’t throw strikes and he plays in a crap division. I countered with the example of Ricky Romero and the guy says Romero is way better because of his division (despite me pointing out his awful stats against the big 3). If anyone can make a case for Gio being mediocre and not being comparable to RR Cool Jay, go right ahead.
@xopchipili: Ha
@Tom Emanski: The AL West is a crap division for what? Hitting besides Texas at home? Agreed.
@Grey Would you start Hellickson at Boston? Short term (hopfully -emoticon) replacement for Zimm: Rolen, Glass Chipper, Freese, Tejada? Thanks Grey! Keep on rollin’ in that El Camino, moustachioed one!
I picked up Greinke with a #2 waiver claim.
I feel good about that.
Yes sir.
From the previous post. About Jonny Gomes, I guess I am really encouraged about the 12BB/6Ks so far this year. Being on base more should lead to more steal attempts (2 so far this year to 5 in all of 2010) and lead to more runs. I do love Kila and will probably own him again this year but right now he is killing (Kila-ing?) my team.
@Howard: Nope, Rolen… Ha, thanks.
@Stophe: Yes, indeed.
@Cole: Roll with Gomes then.
Would you ever talk to an owner again that offered you Prado and Valverde for Howard and Uggla in a $200 buy in league?
@fitz: Yeah, why not?
as someone that had #1 priority and waivered sean burnett on the 4th day of the season, i support this post. thumbs up.
Grey-
Have Miggy, Lind and Belt at first and Aaron Hill at second. Should I drop Belt for Danny Espinosa?
Wright/Burnett or Kemp/Valverde
Heck I burned my #1 waiver on Vernon Law and then dropped him a day later. Heck I didnt give it a second thought. My brother PaulyNuts was wow ya wasted the #1 waiver pick. My thought was first of all I am not goin to hold on to a pick if the guy sucks or just not producing now…Move on. Anyway good article.
McDonald is making me grimace (–childhood obesity point); I’m tempted to drop him for imaginary rabbit Narveyson (–pointlessness point); yeah?
Thanks!
yeah bat rastard,i dont hold on to mine very long either,
@Grey:
Hate to be this guy, but is Vernon Wells droppable in a 14-teamer? Ended up with him via autodraft and no one will trade for the guy…
Hey. I play in a ridiculously shallow (6-team mixed) league, which makes much of the conventional fantasy wisdom inapplicable. Knowing that only elite players are above replacement level, I’m worried about my corner infield spot (currently subbing Carlos Lee/Carlos Pena behind Cabrera at 1B and Wright at 3B). I think I have a surplus of pitching (I start six of Lincecum, Lester, Weaver, Carpenter, Gallardo, Billingsley, Scherzer, Hellickson, and Bucholz), but this is my first time playing in a league this shallow and it’s hard for me to gauge what caliber of pitching is normal.
I’m thinking that pitching holes will be easier to fill than hitting ones, and I should make a move for a hitting upgrade, even if it means weakening my rotation. Would I be wise to offer the hot-starting Weaver for a CI like Youkilis, Bautista, or Tex? Would such a trade likely be accepted?
@Grey: someone in my league dropped Clay Buchholz. Clay and I had some good (albiet lucky) times last year so I wanna pick him up but my pitching has been pretty solid so far. Here’s my staff:
Kershaw, Gallardo, Brett Anderson, Dan Hudson, Ricky Romero, Edwin Jackson, Jhoulys Chacin and Jordan Zimmermann.
Do I hold course or drop either E-Jax, Chacin or J-Zimm for Buchholz?
It’s a completely Razzball endorsed staff…..just wanted to say thanks to the stache.
pick 2- willingham, crisp, francisco, morrison
and
ian desmond or asdrubal cabrera?
Which is a better start for tomorrow?
Pineda at home vs TOR?
Niese at home vs COL?
Rich Harden (lat muscle) was shut down from throwing again Monday.
Harden was expected to throw to live hitters Monday, but suffered a setback with his lat muscle. It’s the same issue that has bothered him since first arriving to A’s camp in February. This sounds like a broken record, but he’s sidelined indefinitely.
Water is still wet!
And clears the way on-going for McCarthy.
@Tony: @Grey:
Thanks guys
Great and timely write-up as usual Grey. Have Ogando on a bunch of teams but on one that I do not he is still available, as well as Narverson. Want to drop Anibel Klarabell for one but not sure which. Leaning Narv simply for NL but O’s division is practically NL anyways. What say you sir?
@GTS:
i’m jumping all over the pineda match-up …. which means …?
ADD boy released Phil Hughes – is he a must pick up?
cheers
@Grey: Ugh Zimmerman. Own him in the ol’ H2H. Can move Gordon from LF to 3B, but need a replacement LF. Who do you like? (12 teams, we count OBP):
Ibanez
Francisco
Vern Wells (just been dropped by someone)
Boesch
Raburn (I drafted and dropped him)
Gomes
Murphy looks as good as anyone, but doesn;t get enough playing time, right?
One spot left in rotation with Cueto on the DL.
de la Rosa, Britton, or Travis Wood?
What’s up Grey?
12 Team, H2H
Current OF: Holliday, Huff, Markakis
Lose Nyjer, Torres, Adam Jones, or Belt
for
Norris, Morton, Masterson, Ogando, or McDonald?
(Like how I ask 8-9 questions in one?) Thanks for any help savant.
@Steve: Sorry to rub salt in your wounds, but they’re saying three weeks is hopeful for Zimmerman’s return: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/nationals-journal/post/ryan_zimmerman_headed_to_disabled_list/2011/04/11/AFrYRAMD_blog.html?wprss=nationals-journal
Wait, I own him in our RCL. Now my damn wounds are all salty!
@royce!: Blech. Though you owning him in the RCL does make me feel a little better.
@the rockstar from Mars: Sure
@fitz: Kemp side.
@the bat rastard: Thanks!
@Long Bawls: Ha… Yeah.
@Chris: Eh
@friar: Sure… Probably not…
@Sucklingduck: Zimmermann… No problem.
@5 dolla yo: Desmond… Francisco, Morrison…
@GTS: Pineda
@BKK: Thanks for the heads up!
@nyydj2: Narveson
@Deeeeeeez Nuts: Sure
@Steve: Francisco
@Dan: Wood
@Whiskey Diet: Morgan for Ogando…
@Grey
How long you hanging onto your love child Raburn? Time share in weekly is killing me. There really ain’t shizz out there, but I am sick of holding him.
Hey Grey.
I was watching the Sawx last night and thought to myself, why did you call Beckett the Red State Jeter?
Ok so how high are some of you on neil walker? This is the offer I’ve got offered to me:
I give: Phillips, Hanson, Krimbel
I get: choo, berkman, neil walker…..
I dont like the deal at all (especially berkman) but its giving me ideas since he has CANO and has mentioned he’s willing to deal him, and I have lester and i KNOW he wants lester….
@Grey: Thanks chief.
All these injuries – wasn’t anyone in the gym over the off-season?
@ Tony:
I am not Grey. But, I would not do that. You give up top 2-4 2B, possible top tier pitcher (arguable) and potential dominating closer.
You get Choo, who is very good. But you get terrible berkman and neil walker. I do not believe that that trade benefits you in any way. Unless your OF is dreadful.
I’m thinking about dropping James Mcdonald, what do you think about Tyler Chatwood?
@chris
You have another OF’r you can plug in with 20-25 homers, 80 RBI in a 14 team league?
At the very last stash him on the bench
A follow-up to the Phil Hughes question: He was dropped in my league as well. But in this league we have no bench spots but have unlimited DL.
Would you drop McDonald while Hughes figures things out? I guess worst case he hits the DL in two weeks.
As a Youk owner in the RCL, is it too late to introduce Walks as a stat category?
10-team. Not really sure how to manage closers. I have Marmol, Putz, and Valverde, and Francisco on the bench. Better to drop F.F. and pick up Contreras or Rauch, who are actually doing something, and hope to get Francisco back later if he succeeds, or just continue to go with what I have?
@paddytwotimes: Lose him.
@LMack: And what did you answer yourself?
@Tony: Eh
@Joe F: Way too raw.
@Big Nate: I’d drop McDonald for him.
@Steve: You want Zimmerman?
@bogbert: Sure, go with Rauch.
Come on Rockies. I need Pelfrey to get clobbered.
@Grey: If royce! will take my Raburn – sure.
Wow…Dice K is throwing BP to the ways…6 runs in the 2nd inning so far.
@Grey:
I answered to myself “meh, someone smarter than myself must know”
which side:
Holliday/Jeter for Choo/Bumgardner/Motte
I normlly don’t do this, and normlly I spell “Normally” correctly, but my co-manager and I are at an impasse. Furcal and Carlos Pena just got dropped in our 12 team league. We have #1 waiver priority.
We are strong at 1B with Adrian Gonzo and Dunn, and weaker at SS with Alex Gonz and Willie Bloomquist (Really? Bloomquist). I want to add both guys, but there are only three bench spots.
Roster:
C – V-Mart
1B- A-Gon/Dunn
2B – Kelly Johnson
SS – Bloomquist/ Alex Gonz
3B – D Wright
OF – Stubbs, CHris Young, Bourn, Rasmus, Pierre
SP – Marcum, Gallardo, Clayton Richard, Brett Anderson
RP – Axford, Kimbrel, Lyons, Walden
Is there room to make a move? If so what is the best course of action?
@grey and whoever: what do you think of a CANO/CHOO for Phillips/LESTER?
I’d get cano/choo, it’s a 10×10 h2h league, 32 inning min per week, so alot of times if you fulfill your innings and your stats are good you bench your pitching, i have Hanson, Liriano, Beachy, ogando, harrison, and RP’s Krimbel, hanahrahhahn, brox, and fuentes LEFT?
thoughts? offer it up?
@Moonlight’s Grahams: My two cents: I’d say there is. Furcal over either of your SS, then drop the other one. I’m a Royals guy and I can tell you Bloomquist is terrible. You don’t need Pena if you have A-Gon and Dunn, maybe take a flyer on a SP.
Wakefield in for Dice-K. Who will be throwing harder?
OK Dempster – bore me.
Belt just hit the wire. For the U: Belt or McGehee?
@WDE05: What else is new?
@LMack: I tend to go with that answer for a lot of things.
@Whiskey Diet: Holliday
@Moonlight’s Grahams: Ha… Drop both of your SSs.
@Tony: It’s fair, you need Lester.
@Steve: Ha!
@Buge Hoobs: McGehee
Iannetta taking a walk. What’s up with that?
Belt or McGehee for the U? (Belt just hit the wire)
@Steve: Well, I’m glad I could help. It’s great to be so useful!
@grey: ya i dont wanna deal lester, in the past i’ve been an SP short and league has 10 pitching cats, including Wins/losses, QS’s, etc…. he’s my HORSE if liriano/hanson bomb…. i just sent the guy a Phillips/Hanson/Fuentes offer for CANO/choo…. that would upgrade my Offense pretty nicely and not kill me pitching wise. I THINK, lol.
Hey Grey- now that Kimbrel seems to have locked down the closer spot, would you still rank him just below Street? Someone made me an offer of Dempster for Kimbrel, which I’m inclined to take, because I also have Street, Hanrahan, Storen, Rauch, and S. Burnett.
@Steve: Needed to clear his head?
@royce!: Googled it. His dog needed to take a leak, apparently.
Would you rather have Brantley or Bourjos for your 4th OF in a 16-Team H2H Yahoo! League?
@Tony: Safer for your team.
@royce!: Nope… I’d want Kimbrel there.
@Kevin: Bourjos
@Steve: Ha!
@Grey: Thanks. Would you take D. Hudson for Kimbrel? How about countering with either Street or Hanrahan for Dempster?
Heading to the Padres/Reds game- Latos v. Volquez. Based on how they’ve been pitching, I’m sure it will be a BBlast!
@royce!: Based on that match-up, I hope you’re walking to the game.
ATTN-crawford doubles
@AL KOHOLIC: Did a fan snatch a fly-ball out of the fielder’s hands?
@royce! and Grey: would you toss voltron tonight? lol
i dont know if i’ve seen anyone ask…
royce,that should be a great game,drink 1 for me
@Tony: @SD, the answer is pretty much always “start him”
@royce!: I’d take Hudson. I wouldn’t trade for Dempster, he’s so whatever. You can find him for cheaper or off waivers.
@Tony: Yup
@Grey or anyone:
Ogando is available in a 12-team standard H2H ESPN league.
To pick him up would need to drop:
League (have Hanrahan, Axford, Broxton)
Harang
Colvin (and go without a 5th OF as I wait for Andres Torres to get back on the field)
Other SP: Weaver, Oswalt, Volquez, T. Wood, Chacin, D. Hudson
Any? None? Leaning towards League assuming he will only be closing for a couple of more weeks. Thanks!
@charlie batch: ughhh its something I “KNOW” but dont feel real good about….
Please someone say DROP SALTY for Avila in DET….
@Grey: What’s your take on this Fuld fella?
@RA Dickey Jokes: Colvin
@Tony: Drop Salty for Avila.
@Steve: Gotta grab him while he’s hot.
fuld all set up for the cycle , but i don’t think he’s gonna get it .
he’s too fast .
@ Grey
Thanks. Some times I just need that push
@Steve:
you gotta root for this new hampshire kid (fuld) .
new hampshire is like the new zealand of the united states ,
except a lot fewer recreational goats .
Buer le…
Grey/All : Drew or Cabrera at SS tonight?
@chata: Ha!
@Mr2Bits: Drew
@Grey
standard 5×5 11 team roto… 2b empty, formerly occupied by raburn
my Broxton or Valverde
for
Uggla or Pedroia or Weeks?
is new hampshire in the U.S?
@Wake Up: wow…insta-jinx…it worked! put the H back in Buehrle(wherever the hell it goes)
@AL KOHOLIC:
live free or …. (you know what) .
Grey, I grabbed Avila the other day , I just feel that having napoli out of the lineup for that many days out of the week is bad.. Scale of 1-10 how dumb was that?
chata,hehe,man the rays have been set on defense right where the redsox are hitting bullets,for what its worth good game plan
home field scoring,crawford hits a 1 hopper right at scutaro who bobbles and they call it a hit
@Grey: wow, your comment feeds are getting alot more attention than last year….anyways, do you like adam jones or andre either. both dropped. public leagues r so dumb
@impaulsible: Any closer for Uggla or Pedroia.
@Wake Up: Ha!
@tggq21: Eh
@Nick: Ethier
thornton blown save on another error,bring on sale
wow,then thornton pulled with 1 out guy on 2nd,tie game?
@Grey: Damn, A. Cabrera goes yard once again. I don’t know who’s hotter between him and Castro, who also did well tonight. Who do like between the two for the year?
I wish my team could always play against Hundley. Phillips racks up steal #5 against him in 4 days. Is he really that bad? He’s Posada-like apparently.
lol sam fuld is too fast to finish the cycle haha wowow!
Jesus Volquez – WTF are you doing?
volquez 1st inning crap going on again
hahah volquez WHIP: INF….. what else is new
@Fletch: Castro
@Cain Fan: He is.
@tggq21: Ha
@AL KOHOLIC: Blech
Dempster – you’re a f****** idiot too.
The Matt Thornton experience.
What a ride.
How about Asdrubal Cabrera? Dude is tearing it up. 4 hrs already on the year. His career high is…6 in 131 games in ’09.
@tggq21: Volquez is going off like A Tribute to Fireworks and you know what that means… SHUT IT DOWN
@WDE05: Must be the roids! manny got to him
Grey,
Settled on a Lind for Sandoval swap. I like the fact that he’s seeing the ball well against lefties this year. He’ll have first base eligibility by mid week. As always, thanks for the advice.
@tggq21:
Haha yeah, so elsewhere that supposedly he has put on a ton of muscle this winter. I really hope he doesn’t get popped for PEDs because I really need him with the way HanRam and Mauer are producing.
Good grief. I had Dempster, Farnsworth and Volquez doing their ‘thing’ simultaneously for a while there.
I did not enjoy that.
*make that “saw” elsewhere, not “so”…haha.
@Grey: Is there a term for a player that is playing like crap, but gets to keep the job because everyone else around him is playing even worse? This is my wish/reality with Matt Thornton.
@preptime: Ha
@WDE05: Oh, yeah.
@Pops: No problem.
@preptime: Nope
Kemp swiping bags like it’s 2009…
Pujols slump is becoming pretty epic. .132 average, grounded into 7 DPs and he just popped out with the bases loaded.
Yo, 2 questions for ya Grey or whoever wants to answer…
A. Should I grab Beachy and drop Volquez?
-You are hyping up Beachy pretty good and Volquez’s K rate has been up but so has all the other stats which isnt a good thing… He is starting tonight but he already gave up 2 runs to the Padres and they are only in the 2nd in PETCO.
B. Should I grab Bastardo and drop Gregerson.
Bastardo is killing it in the K’s and ratios so far and Gregerson has been just okay comparatively. Who do you think will have better stats looking out now through the season?
PS I always use my waiver yo, might as well thats what its there for.
@Grey: Narveson, Masterson or Guthrie?
latos looking like ,well latos of last year
Kevin Gregg’s Theory of General Craptivity.
. . . or something
@AL KOHOLIC:
Yeah I’m pissed I don’t have him going for one of my teams tonight. I had him on the DL and I didn’t see that he’d be starting today until late last night when it was already too late to drop a player to make room for him today.
WDE05 ha me to,pissed me off,i forgot you cant even drop a guy the day of,
Bautista gets a SB when Mariners mess up a rundown after a missed hit and run. 3rd time in the last week Jays have escaped rundowns.
drop wells(vern) for gomes?
@WDE05: Yeah, sweet that it’s the first year I’ve ever owned him.
@Dominic: Nope… Sure…
@McBainus: First two.
@preptime: Ha
@bubba long stocking: Eh
Ellsbury was dropped in my league. That is an obvious waiver claim, yes? I would drop A. Escobar for him.
grey what round did you get latos in
@Robert: Yup
@bubba long stocking: Don’t own him.
It was only a matter of time before Razzball law caught Latos.
Drop M. Pineda for C. Narveson?
Grey, I’ve got JPA but he’s only getting 60% of the playing time. Should I drop him for any of Hundley, Avila or Hanigan? Hundley and Avila seem to have the surest PT, but Hundley’s in Petco and Avila is….Avila.
Does it even matter and am I splitting hairs over 3 Rs/RBIs?
if im going to jinx him,im glad i had him dl,d and its against my reds
Also, time to drop Raburn for Espinosa or SRod?
@Grey: ok what about Masterson, Harang or Holland over Volquez?
Brilliant post today Grey. Also the wrap-up with the Russell Martin entry was epic. I think I’ve gone home with that Rosie lookin’ broad too… and boy was she broad! HEY-OH
Three words for all ya’ll Ass Dru Bell!
I have a name for Justin Smoak: The Human Pun Funeral
Okay Razzballers, I’m in a shallow OBP league and have got SBs pretty well covered. Rank these borderline yawnsipating players for the rest of the year: Beckham, Zobrist, Abreu, Logan Morrison, Markakis, Alex Gordon
@Dr. Orlando Schadenfreude: What the heck kind of league are you in? I would bumrush the waiver to get guys like that.
i really like beck at 2nd,gordon at a shallow 3rd in yahoo and then morrison,markakis and abreu
I support comment #166.
@Tom Emanski: They are all on my team, I’m just trying to figure out who to cut/trade to improve the back end of my rotation. ESPN league, so not 3b for Alex Gordon
BUMgarner!
figgins leaves game early?
@Dr. Orlando Schadenfreude: LoMo is an OBP god. I’d trade Abreau and capitalize on his usual blazing hot April.
@AL KOHOLIC: Ground ball off his wrist as he was diving for it.

Hey everyone,
I flipped Haren for Holliday. Good for me?
Edinson Bipolarquez
- 0 outs through the first 4 batters, gives up 2 in the first inning against the lowly Padres.
- 0 strikeouts through 3 innings.
- 5 K over the next 3 innings, with only 2 baserunners allowed.
Final line: 6-3-2-2-3-5-0
I wish I knew how to quit you.
Corey Patterson!
Like chewing gum stuck to your shoe, he just won’t go away.
Guerrier in for Kershaw – anything out of the ordinary there?
@Calogero:
The day he gets through the first with a 1-2-3 innings is the day he throw a complete game shutout.
@Steve:
Nope. Just a high pitch count. I was actually surprised they let him throw in the 7th considering he eclipsed the 100-pitch mark at the end of the 6th.
Not convinced, but do we need a Razzball term for an H2H situation where you are relyinh in your opponent’s closer to save a win for your pitcher.
I have thins going in SD right now…
screwing your 2nd cousin,its allowed in kentucky,hehe
@Eddy: Yup
@AM2: Sure
@3FingersBrown: Thanks!
@Mark: Eh

@Grey: I’m about problems, not solutions.
@Grey:
Evening, Grey!
Early stage trade talk:
Longoria, Andrus, Tabata, Walden…..Tulowitzki, Pence
Which side do you prefer? It seems like a no brainer, but it’s an awful lot of speed.
@Grey: Walden or Nathan
@Tele: Actually, looking at that now… I have no idea what to think.
@Steve:
you’re into double-reverses .
does that closer feel like your bald-headed step-father ?
or just another uncle leo ?
Just returned from the Padres game…I drank one for you, AL, which may have put me over the limit, but I’m not going to let you down…Latos looked solid, but even more importantly, Brad Hawpe comes to bat to Warrant’s “Cherry Pie.” He’s not old OR young enough for that to be ironic.
Shawn Camp was left in for a 5 out save for the Jays and coughed it up with two outs in the 9th. Not sure what this means for the saves situation in Toronto.
royce yeah you did get a heck of a game,latos got tired,the pitch hiesley hit out was 90,hed been at 96 earlier,and cordero,well he keepsem in the stands till the end
griff,frasor maybe?
Grey, which end of this trade would you take?
Roy Halladay, Robinson Cano, and Ryan Howard for Albert Pujols, Ben Zobrist, Josh Hamilton, and Victor Martinez.
*****Hamilton out 6-8 weeks****
Updating an earlier report, the Rangers said Tuesday that Hamilton (shoulder) will miss 6-to-8 weeks with a small fracture to his humerus bone, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Spin: Not having Hamilton in the lineup for up to two months will be a big blow to fantasy owners. David Murphy and Julio Borbon should both get a shot at regular playing time with Hamilton out a while.
