85 runs, 23 HRs, 110 RBI, 2 SB, .293 AVG, .358 OBP, 635 at bats

Player 2-
92 runs, 37 HRs, 106 RBI, 14 SB, .285 AVG, .335 OBP, 611 at bats

Player 3-
96 runs, 34 HRs, 96 RBI, 3 SB, .292 AVG, .344 OBP, 590 at bats

One of these guys is going on the average #10 pick. The others, #82 and #103. Granted, one is 36 years old, one is 34 and the other is 25 but c'mon, it's only next year, we're not giving them a 5 year contract here, we're just trying to scoop somebody.

What this tells me is, cover your corners and let the outfielders fall into place.

Are you making a case for Jermaine Dye and Raul Ibanez over Ryan Braun? I was down on Braun last year going into the season because I felt people might think he was going to hit .330 every year. He's not, but I do think he's a better bet for 40/15 then most players. Jermaine Dye is a good bet for 27/2 and Ibanez for 22/1 -- They're not that close. They're solid two to three OFs, they're not a number one.

Simply making a case for stacking your corners first.

Braun as a 3B was a legit #10 pick, as an outfielder, not so much. He won't be eligible this year. He was last year in yahoo and people are overpaying for him this year because of it.

Wouldn't you agree that outfield is much deeper than corner infield? Especially in auction leagues?

I just think Braun is going way too high for my money.

That's pretty quick by the way, to get those three guys.

The rankings are coming this week, where I go over Braun. Right now I'll say, I do like him a lot. And outfield is deep, but everyone is grabbing at least three of them and some teams grab 6 or 7 of them depending on league rules.

I didn't think I'd ever see the day when Ryan Braun is being compared to Dye and Ibanez. Yes Dye and Ibanez are nice options, but are not going to win you a championship and are not even comparable. Dye and Ibanez are old, and sometime soon, age has to catch up to both of them, if it hasn't already.

I'll take the guy with 100 R, 40 HR, 100 RBI, 15-20 SB, .300 Avg potential any day of the week. Leave him for me to draft please.

In addition, there is more depth at 1B and 3B now more than ever. 3B isn't as thin as it used to be. It seems like there is a new option or two at the corner infield every year.
