I start this week’s podcast by wondering if JB still listens to the show and/or reads the website, but based on the nugget of information Grey passes along, I’m going to assume the answer to that question is no. I also thank everyone for the awesome podcast reviews this week, while Grey is unsatisfied and unimpressed. On the fantasy baseball side of things, our main focus is middle infield, kicking things off with the surprise of Elvis Andrus being the current #1 SS in fantasy, and Zack Cozart being the current #1 SS in real life. We also talk about if Grey is coming around on Daniel Murphy, how real the Whit Merrifield breakout is, and debate Carlos Correa vs. Trea Turner in Dynasty Leagues. Finally, I get excited for the return of the Razzball Only FantasyDraft Contest today, so make sure to sign up and join in on the fun. It’s the latest edition of the Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast:

@Mazel Tov: Yea, he is very interesting and a tough one to value right now.

I just realized I don’t think I’ve ever heard Villar’s name said out loud before. Or if I did, I wasn’t paying attention. I’ve been saying it wrong in my head for a year now.

@mikeMaher: I would caution you to not assume however we were saying it is correct, ha. But yea, I think the L’s are silent.

@Ralph Lifshitz: That was helpful. Turns out not taking Spanish in high school and taking French instead was a huge mistake. Who would have guessed?

@Halp: I dunno… the curse words in french were fun. Do you recall how to say “shower” in French? How about “seal”.

@Halp: I think its Le Phoque or something. I know I’m likely getting some spelling wrong. But it was fun talking about the seals in the shower. That was for sure. Zut Alors!!

If I knew how to say “Nice Pods” in French I would.

hahahaha. Hey! The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is one of my leagues that I wrote a draft review for! A couple things for the official record:

    1. Yes, the league name is ridiculous. It’s been around for like 15 years and was named before I joined about 6 years ago.

    2. Grey was never invited, haha! He is probably just remembering the ridiculous name from my draft review and mixing it up with one of his other league invites :::shakes fist in the air in faux outrage:::.

    3. While the name is dumb, it’s a big money keeper league where transactions cost money, so the stakes are high and the pot is big. So that maybe makes up for the name a bit? Maybe not.

  6. knucks says:

Guys. I creep around on the Perty Perts league, peepin’ them transactions.

You should know that JB just picked up K. Middleton.

Now I don’t wanna be the one to tattle to his girl or anything. But I don’t think he’s fully quit the fantasy life. Whether that be baseball or royal famtasy…

@knucks: I’m still in the REL with him too. That’s why i was curious if he was still hanging around.

@knucks: By “you should know” I meant, “get a load of this shizz”. I read that back and I sound like a “shower” in this comment.

  7. I need Paxton to get SHELLED to hold onto this top spot I’m currently holding onto with my fingernails.

    • @Hugman: Oops, not anymore, hahaha!
What’s your name in the contest? Why isn’t it Halp?! What’s Grey’s? Why isn’t it Grey?!

@Hugman: I’m mch210 but keep messing up with invalid lineups. Nobody else has this problem, haha … Grey hasn’t played in one yet.

So for those of us who don’t use iTunes, is there any place we can rate the podcast that helps?

  10. Saints says:

    Hay Halp nice pod :)
I have more of a dynasty question. What do you think about Matt reynolds and Mac williamson ? Can they become valuable MLB Starters or do you think they wont have value in Fantasy and its time to move on ?

    • Halp

      Halp says:
      (link)

@Saints: Thanks, Saints. Both are definitely fringey guys. I can see moving on from them for younger, more upside types.

    J. Hoffman – he been pitching really well so far – what do you think of him as a player that you can depend on to trade for in keeper league – The match up well favorable so far this year but his numbers were still impressive

    • Halp

      Halp says:
      (link)

@mrbaseball: I personally have a strict no Coors pitchers policy (unless it is a super deep league and you basically have no choice). On his own, Hoffman is an excellent prospect with great stuff, but for me, he isn’t someone I am trading for in a keeper league. He is still a young, unproven pitcher who is likely to go through growing pains, and tacking Coors field onto that is just more risk than I am willing to handle. His two good starts were on the road of course against San Diego and Philly. In 6.2 IP at home this year he has given up 4 runs.
