What is up party people? We’re almost to the point of reflection on the season but we’re not quite there yet because there are still championships to win. I won’t lie to ya, at this point, the pickings are slim so this one is gonna be short and sweet. You don’t want the guy that might be good in the future, you need the guy that’s good right now. And with that allow me to introduce you to  Matt Vierling. The man was a Razzball sleeper going into the season and while he didn’t blow us all away he has still been a very solid option. Actually, I think he has been more than a solid option. A .262 average and only 9 home runs is certainly nothing to write home about At this point in the season he may just be the most undervalued player out there. I am actually very surprised that he is still this widely available at this point in the season.

Nolan Jones – He has regular at bats. Praise Bud Black for finally playing him. Talent was never in question, we just want him to see the field. The last week of the season sees him at mile high. That sounds like some beautiful music to my ears.

Thairo Estrada – He is one of my favorite players and I will admit that may cloud my judgment a bit… but he has been pretty darn good. You can use him at second base or short and both his batting average is pretty good. Power is decent but unspectacular. However, when you add it all up you get a pretty good points league player.

Robbie Grossman – I was a fan before the season and he didn’t really live up to expectations. On the year he only has 10 home runs and is betting under .250. So why do I like him? Well, I’m banking on his preseason potential to finally show itself. He has hit much better recently (over .300) and there is some power lurking in his game. Look for him to close out the season strong.

Aaron Hicks – Baltimore has been good to him. He still feels like a risk but he brings some great upside to the table. Of course, you have to monitor his injury stats. If he is going to be back in the lineup I am in. But we can’t overlook that he has missed a couple games. The early reports said he was dealing with some cramping issues so ideally he’ll be back in the starting lineup before too long.

Jake Burger – Gimmie some cheeseburgers in paradise because he has power and right now he is showing out. He is a shot in the dark but deeper leagues should take note.

Logan O’Hoppe – Still way too available. If you need a catcher he is your man. He’s been showing off his power with 5 home runs over the last couple weeks. Batting average isn’t great but you take power when you can get it behind the plate. If he has played the whole season he would be one of the top catchers and I suspect he will be drafted accordingly next season.

Edouard Julien – If you’ve been following along you know that I love shiny new prospects. He’s closing out the season on a high note and I imagine that he will shoot up draft boards next year. Power is there along with contact skills. Let him help you.
