When I first brought the idea of a large industry best ball competition with fan participation into Grey’s office he said, “Damnit Cougs, stop letting Donkey into the house! He’s getting mud all over my panda rug again!” Then I brought the idea to Rudy who spent the next week developing algorithms and running millions of simulations to determine if it was a worthwhile endeavor. On the seventh day the RazzSlam Bot saw it’s shadow. And so the RazzSlam came into being. What exactly is the RazzSlam? I’m glad you ask…

What: A HUGE fantasy baseball best ball tournament which will forever transform the landscape of the fantasy baseball world.

Who: Scores of your favorite fantasy baseball analysts, with a sprinkling of fans. Participating analysts include Razzball’s own Grey Albright & Rudy Gamble, Scott White, Heath Cummings & Chris Towers of CBS, Andy Behrens & Dalton Del Don of Yahoo, Eno Sarris & Derek Van Riper of The Athletic, Paul Sporer of Fangraphs, Jeff Erickson of Rotowire, Mike Gianella of Baseball Prospectus, plus many, many more! The field will consist of 75% analysts, 25% fans and .01% Donkey.

Where: The NFBC has very graciously offered to play host to this historic event on their state of the art platform using their Cutline Championship format.

Why: To crown the best fantasy baseballer in the universe, win life changing prizes and impress the babes—or dudes if that’s your thing.

When: Slow drafts featuring a 4-hour per pick clock are tentatively scheduled to begin Monday, March 1st.

How: If you’re interested in participating, fill out the form below and submit. A fan lottery will take place near the end of February, Hunger Games style. To increase your odds, sign up for the infamous Razzball Tools which Grey and Rudy have used to win three Tout Wars titles since 2017! By mandate of Fantasy Master Lothario, 80% of the fan spots will be awarded to Razzball Tools Subscribers and only 20% will be drawn from the Cheap Ass Fans pool.

Format: This contest will mirror the NFBC Best Ball Cutline Championship Rules, except we’ll feature 12 team leagues rather than 10 team leagues.

Prizes: The NFBC is generously offering each league winner a $25 credit on their site. In addition, overall prizes are as follows . . .

1st Place – RazzSlam Engraved Trophy brought to you by Young Bat Company (priceless), Razzball MLB DFS Premium Subscription ($149.98 value)Full line of shirts from the Razzball Rotowear Collection ($121 value)

What are the vegas odd’s ? How does a four hour pick work is that for real?

Never done a slow draft? Usually people pick fairly quick but everyone gets 4 hours for each pick if they need it and the clock freezes overnight.

Donkey, do you know if the RazzSlam is legal for me in Iowa? Looks like NFBC offers $25 credit which I don’t think I could use but the rest of the prizes seem legal for me. I’m pretty sure their regular games are illegal for Iowa residents. Thanks!

      Hey DFresh,

Yes, Iowa residents can play in this event…guessing you just wouldn’t be eligible for the $25 credit like you said.

Even if you don’t get a spot in the main event there will be a second qualifier contest (duplicate contest) on the NFBC platform.

      No problem!

    Hey Donkey,
Thanks for your posts. 8 team, H2H league points Dynasty league. We can keep players forever. One Utility spot. We only start 7 pitchers each week, so everyone has equal starts each week. We keep 15. Last year I did put up the most points in the league. Which 5 to drop?

Realmuto, Alonso, Moncada, Bryant, Bogaerts, Stanton, JD Martinez, Rosario, Josh Bell, Chapman, Escobar, Wander Franco, Corbin, Marquez, Snell, Whitley, Bauer, Giolito, Boyd and Woodruff.
    Thanks.

      Hey Schwab,

      No problem.

In that format I’d cut Escobar, Marquez, Whitley, Chapman, Bell.
