It’s officially the mid-way point of the season (you know, 81 game mark in 162 game season) and with the long weekend coming up, Nick got lazy with this week’s installment, rather, more lazy.  A podcast on a Wednesday?  What is this France?  Any the hoo!  Nick had JB and JayWrong on at the same time to battle it out in a match of “Guess who’s projections these are.”  JayWrong wiped the floor with JB; JB said it was because he was hungry.  I heard the fight between JB and JayWrong gets completely out of control, but I wouldn’t know because I’m on by myself.  Why do I feel like the special needs kid that is tutored separately from all of his friends and is told, “Grey, you need special attention, because you’re creative in ways the other kids aren’t.”  I used the name Grey there, but I’ve never actually heard that line said to me.  I’m not special at all.  Quite ordinary.  Singing John Legend, “We’re just ordinary PEOPLE!”  Man, I love that song.  Rudy comes on the ‘cast and talks about similar halfway mark stats jazz, then I talk about everyone’s favorite player that they own or least favorite player that they don’t own, Chris Davis.  Then I drop on you a surprising buy for the 2nd half.  A guy you haven’t heard me say I like in the last 24 months or so.  I also drop into your eardrums my biggest sell for the 2nd half.  It’s a doozy or my name isn’t Cousin Brucie.   Finally, Rhino Energy wanted to help Razzballers party like animals all weekend so they’re giving away a case of Rhino Energy drinks to the person who comments first with the trivia answer to:  What European country, and home of Rhino Energy, is known for its fall festival where ample-bosomed waitresses serve you steins of beer?  Anyway, here’s the Razzball Podcast (now with JayWrong and JB applying oil to their arms and legs so they can grapple):

Wow… Kinda crazy… What’s his home run distance like? Is he driving the ball as far? What pitches are getting him out this year that weren’t last year? Is he slow on the inside fastballs? I got questions, y’all!

      • Carnac says:
        (link)

I’ll answer your questions with an answer to none of your questions: So far in 2013 Pujols’ “avg true distance” is 411.6 feet (#9). In 2012 (full season) it was 401.5 feet (#53).

Grey…would you attempt to buy low on Pujols or avoid? Other team needs 3b so thinking my Aramis/G.Cole for Pujols/Hamels. Not sure he’d go for it, worth a shot in 12 team h2h redraft points league? Pujols would be my UT which is where Aramis is right now.

Traded Matt Joyce for Homer bailey after Joyce’s hot month of May/early June. Feelin pretty good right now. Baileys gone 7 innings or more in 6 of his last 10 starts, with only 1 of those stars being less then 6 innings, with 2 complete games. Not to mention his K/9 is pretty solid also. He’s pretty underrated but maybe not after this last start. BUY BuY BUY if you can!!!

The pickings are beyond slim for SPs in my league and limited transactions make jumping around for streamers difficult. I currently have Erasmo, Kluber and Kennedy. Cut any of them for ROS for Griffin, Marcum, Wacha, Volquez, Blanton, Miley or Vargas?

    • Grey

Lose Kluber for Griffin at home, otherwise they’re all streamers…

What, if anything would you do with this team (12 team H2H) for the stretch run (in 1st in my division/2nd in league)

    2 Carpenter
    3 Plouffe

    OF Cespedes
    OF Puig
    Util Freese/Revere

    SP

    Ryu
    Gallardo
    Roberto Hernandez (Streamer)

Thanks!! Looking to make a move for the stretch run if necessary…

@Hotrod: IDK how you’re in 1st with that offense, but I’d get some infield help

      • Hotrod says:
        (link)

@CramYourCatcherQuestionUpYourCramhole: Well my outfield is the sexiest outfield possibly ever assembled, so makes up for the lack of infield. and Tulo/Everth are pretty beastly when healthy, so i feel like my outfield can carry my offense and rest of team is “Solid”…Grey your thoughts please?

        • CramYourCatcherQuestionUpYourCramhole says:
          (link)

@Hotrod: Yeah NOW it looks like that, but Harper and Stanton both missed a month and Puig’s only had 100 AB’s, and in their stead, Cespedes has batted a cool .225. I mean, does not compute, but good on you.

@CramYourCatcherQuestionUpYourCramhole: I would like to argue that in my 12 team mix my outfield of

McCutchen, J. Upton, Bruce, Cruz, Marte, and Kemp is pretty damn sexy cust kayin…

@The Dredd Pirate: That’s sexy too. Hmmm I can’t tell whose is sexier though. Why don’t you both walk your outfield’s down the runway for me?….And make sure you turn properly!

Your infield’s a bit of a mess and you have two pitchers that are gonna get reduced workload in Sept. I’d trade Miller for a better 3B, or Harvey for a 1B or 3B and probably just lose Gallardo…

    Dragging this question here:

In what rounds do you see the following players being drafted in a 10 team H2H points league that favors pitching? In our league we keep 5 players, so the first round of picks is really round 6. I would be giving up these players now and am wondering what you think is a good draft pick (round) for each player in our 2014 draft.

Shelby Miller, Jason Kipnis, Starling Marte, Wil Myers and Julio Teheran

        @Grey: Thank you sir.

Was offered an 8th (13th) round pick for Miller, but negotiated a 3rd round pick (really the 8th round) since he has RP eligibility and he is the only SP on our league’s market.

I asked for a 3rd (8th) round pick for Myers, but the other guy only wants to give up a 6th (11th) round. I don’t think I’ll be giving in.

Was offered a 6th (11th) round pick for Kipnis, but think I will ask for 4th (9th) rounder.

Just got offered reyes for latos. I’m first in era, whip, and k’s with a rotation consisting of Harvey, gio, latos, shields, j zimm, Corbin, garza, and Ervin. My MI options are asdrubal, gyorko, and rendon. Gotta take reyes here right? Slightly worried he hasn’t attempted a steal but he seems healthy.
