Graduated From Stash List #4: Lara At The Top Of His Craft: Edwin Arroyo, Cole Carrigg, Braden Montgomery

1. Rockies 1B/OF Charlie Condon (23, AAA)

With seven home runs in his last 15 games, Condon is angling for a big league lineup spot despite a season-long batting average of .251. His strikeout rate over this hot streak is 19.7 percent against a 16.9 percent walk rate. Edouard Julien has played 58 games with a 69 wRC+ alongside negative defensive value. The organization picked up some found money over the off-season by trawling the depths of other clubs, but whatever they’ve found in Julien is messing with their invested wealth.

1. OF Walker Jenkins | 21 | AAA | 2026

The sixth overall pick in the stacked 2023 class, Jenkins is a left-handed hitter with power and plate skills listed at 6’3” 210 pounds, but as I say all the time around here, those measurements look a little out of date. He’s dealt with some injuries that have cost him reps but steadily climbed the organization ladder nonetheless, closing out 2025 with 23 games in Triple-A. In 84 games across four levels, he slashed .286/.399/.451 with ten home runs and 17 stolen bases. It’s tough to predict how the team will handle his timeline. They seem to go back and forth on trading Joe Ryan every other day. If they keep him, Jenkins could be up early. If they move him this winter, I’d bet they’ll slow-play their season in general.

Cincinnati SS Jose Barrero returned to the majors this week after an impressive 40 games at each AA and AAA. He’s the club’s best defense shortstop, but I’d be a little surprised if he gets the gig right away. Kyle Farmer has played well enough to make Barrero a utility player for the stretch run, and that might be the perfect spot for him considering the struggles Barrero encountered when forced into an everyday role in 2020. Even so, he’ll likely be the first man off the bench most nights, and Farmer is a capable utility player in his own right, so Barrero could carve out a significant role if starts out hot. His season line in those 80 MiLB games across two levels: .303/.378/.532 with 17 HR and 15 SB. That’ll do, Jose.
