*BLOWS TRUMPET THAT IS REALLY JUST MY HAND IN A FIST WHILE I MAKE TRUMPET NOISES*

The time has come, and we have our very first Razzball Commenter Leagues overall standings update of the year!  BIG thank you to VinWins for collecting the data and to Rudy for plugging it all into the bots and getting the kinks worked out.  For those who can’t remember or didn’t read my first article of the season, we’ll be updating the standings on (or around) the first Monday of each month.  So, what did our first update of the year tell us?  Who is leading the RCL universe after the first seven weeks?  Let’s find out!

‘PERTY ‘PERTS

Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land.  We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them.  The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.

Itch gained 17.5 points two weeks ago to move into first, and he gave back nine (the most in the league) of those this week as he slipped to second place.  It’s quite a tight race at the top with Itch, Whip, and Derek all separated by just two points.  Several teams gained a little this week, with Mike, Grey, and Knoche all gaining 5.5 points as MarmosDad gained five.  I also managed to lose eight points as I gave Itch a run for his money at biggest loser.

RAZZSLAM STANDINGS UPDATE

Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam.  This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.

James Sweeney remains atop the leaderboard for another week.  Roto_Wan moved into second as TopherV keeps sliding down the rankings, this week landing in fourth overall.  Andy held onto fifth place, but Mike C fell one place to seventh overall.  Kevin Hasting blasted into the top ten this week thanks to a league best 693 points.  He shot up 18 places with the effort.  Dan Richards, last year’s consolation winner, was the biggest standings mover this week, picking up 65 spots to move into 97th overall thanks to a 615 point week.

20 Clyde RCL 30 92.6 95.5 100 90.3

You’ll recognize a lot of these names from earlier updates.  It makes sense that the teams who keep hitting the leaderboards/TOW would be here in the first update.  There’s a drive takes the top spot in our first run through, followed by Bucks in 6 and familiar face, DFresh.  Both ECFBL and COUGS have two teams in the top 20, winning these leagues will be no easy feat.  NOTLZ and the LHC are both out to early LCI leads, with each league repping a 105.  Congrats to our top 20!

I’m not sure why the leagues aren’t showing up yet.  Rudy is on it, but I filled them in manually for the chart above.  That should be sorted out for the next update.

TRADES

All the trades that have gone down in the past week.  Public ridicule is not only allowed, but encouraged.

DATE LEAGUE DETAILS
5/6/2026 RCL 9
El Duderinos traded Freddie Freeman & Munetaka Murakami to cjsullivan3 for Nick Kurtz
5/7/2026 RCL 19
Low-End Seamster traded Jarren Duran to Sea Pilots for Drew Rasmussen
5/10/2026 RCL 31
WahooFan76 traded Paul Skenes to cubbiebluez for Juan Soto

Just three deals this week, but they involved a couple of doozies.  Soto for Skenes is pretty fun and a very even deal.  I also love the deal for Murakami.  Freddie is a nice compliment should the average bottom out and I think Roba (I’m going to make this nickname stick) outhomers Kurtz.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.

Team: Josheast

League: NIGHT OF THE LIVING ZOMBINOS

Stats:   AVG: .289, R: 50, HR: 18, RBI: 46, SB: 12

IP: 51, ERA: 2.29, WHIP: 1.02, K: 59, W: 5, SV: 6

Summary: Josh’s #1 pick, Bobby Witt, Jr, paced the offense, hitting .450 with three home runs and two steals. Spencer Steer, Drake Baldwin, Wilyer Abreu, Rafael Devers, and Brandon Lowe all homered twice, while Pete Crow-Armstrong chipped in a long ball and 3 stolen bases. Payton Tolle had a 2-start week, and contributed a win and 12 strikeouts in 12 innings of action. He allowed only three runs and nine baserunners. Mitch Keller and Randy Vasquez each won their start. Graham Ashcraft lasted just 4 2/3 innings, but picked up seven Ks. Rico Garcia and Devin Williams both won a game and saved two, while striking out four.  The big week was a boon for Josh, gaining them 21.5 points and moving them from ninth to fifth in one of the toughest leagues in the RCLs.

Big ups to Bucks in 6. That’s my league, and he’s tearing it up with an Ohtani/James Wood/Jordan Walker super squad.
