Welcome to the Razzball Commenter League week 18 recap! I’m on family vacation this week and will keep this short and sweet, but load it with all the usual numbers. VinWins ran the Emmanuel Clase report earlier this week and asked if it’s something I’d be interested in using and I jumped at the chance. This is the final week (well, actually just three more days) to improve your team via trade and one of the biggest trade targets is Saves. Clase was the top drafted closer during draft season and Vin checked in to see how each team that drafted him is doing, let’s have a look:

I’m not sure we learn a whole lot from this info. The fifth round was the most popular place to pick Clase, but interestingly, those who drafted him in the sixth seem to be doing worse, which is odd. Getting a bargain on the draft’s top closer wouldn’t seem to be a negative. I think the biggest takeaway here is that of all 44 teams who drafted Clase, we have two in first place and four in second. In other words, it may not pay off to go after that top closer on draft day. What do you think?
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.
Son held onto first for another week despite dropping six points. He was helped by Cram It losing 1.5 points despite leading the league in Runs, HRs, RBIs, Saves, and ERA. Meanwhile, MarmosDad continued his yo-yo season, gaining 8.5 points this week, the most of anyone. Great Knoche took the biggest tumble, dropping a whopping 11 points this week thanks in part to a 9.30 ERA and 2.033 WHIP. Luckily that was only 30 IP worth of ratios.
Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.
And then there was Son.
TOP 10
VinWins take on the Master Standings while we await official standings.

Six trades this, penultimate trade week, and a couple of doozies. Aaron Judge for Freddie Freeman is maybe the biggest. I have a 20 save lead in RCL 33 and sent Devin Williams packing for Elly De La Cruz (I have points to gain in SBs) and I scooped Gallegos…who is maybe a closer to replace Williams. We’ll see. Trea Turner was moved twice, once for Bo Bichette, that’s tough luck.

TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: Bayou Swampers
League: RCL 28
Stats: AVG: .344, R: 67, HR: 23, RBI: 55, SB: 11
IP: 71.1, ERA: 3.66, WHIP: 0.953, K: 68, W: 5, SV: 6
Summary: The Bayou gang had a very nice week for themselves which includes winning TOW. Those hitting numbers are bonkers and while what ERA and K/9 aren’t the best, that sub one WHIP always maes me drool. Adolis Garcia and Lane Thomas led the way on offense and Zach Eflin and Dane Dunning killed it on the pitching side. Nice work to the Bayou Bunch!
