The injury news just keeps on coming. This week, it was very ambiguous news about Aaron Judge’s ribs.  It could be 4-6 weeks, it could be the rest of the season, who can say!?  Sunday saw Bobby Witt Jr. leave the game with knee soreness. Hopefully, that isn’t serious or two of the top three picks will be on the shelf.  With Judge, Raleigh, and Murakami all IL’d, we are left with Schwarber and Yordan leading the HR charge.  Ben Rice also remains close and is currently number one on the player rater, what a steal he’s been this season.  Speaking of Rice, he was involved in a pretty wild trade this week.  Let’s check in on that and the rest of the stats from the week that was, week 11.

‘PERTY ‘PERTS

Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land.  We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them.  The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.

Grey and Cram It both led the league in points gained this week with six.  Cram It moved up two spots to fifth with the effort, and Grey leaped over me in the standings even though we are tied with 50 points.  We’re really doing badly this year.  MarmosDad went the other way this week, dropping 4.5 points and falling from fifth to seventh.

RAZZSLAM STANDINGS UPDATE

Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam.  This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.

I hope all your FAAB dreams came true last week.  I nabbed Casey Schmitt, who was my main target, and also swapped out Robby Snelling for a $1 Aaron Ashby and Bo Naylor for a $1 Mickey Gasper.  Just shedding some dead weight and spending every last dollar.  We’ll see if it helps me any.

We did have a lead change this week with Matt Poole overtaking James Sweeney for the top spot.  Andy Behrens moved into third while Mike C jumped into fifth.  He’s gunning for Andy after adding Casey Schmitt, Antonacci, and Ben Brown, a nice FAAB haul.  Roto_Wan slipped to seventh this week.

Grey was the best team in the RazzSlam this week, gaining a massive 784 points and jumping up 76 spots to 55th overall!

TRADES

All the trades that have gone down in the past week.  Public ridicule is not only allowed, but encouraged.

Crystallizing traded Jo Adell & Paul Sewald to cubbiebluez for Brandon Lowe & Ivan Herrera

Eight deals this week, including a few doozies!  I had a few spare pitchers and was desperate for saves in DFSers.  Vin traded for Elly in RCL 15 only to see him immediately pull a hammy.  That’s brutal timing.  James Wood for Davis Martin is crazy speak, but Storminator made me promise not to blast them this week.  They are leading all hitting categories and are in last place in ERA/WHIP.  I still think they could have gotten a little better return for Wood, but I get it.  See also, Sal Stewart for Kyle Harrison.  This one feels about right, though.  Our zen teacher, AD Hamley swapped Shohei Ohtani for the top two players on the player rater, the top hitter and top pitcher while also swapping Mason Miller for Louis Varland.  I think if I’m trading Shohei, this is the deal that makes sense.  Impressive swap for both teams, honestly.

WEEKLY LEADERS

The best of the best from the week that was.

R – 60 – Big Doinks (RCL 6) & Mr Big & Bud Goode (RCL 34)

HR –21 – El Duderinos (RCL 9)

RBIs – 65 – cubbiebearz (RCL 28)

SB – 16 – El Duderinos (RCL 9)

AVG – .330 – All about the Basallo (RCL 26)

K – 93 – OysterToads (RCL 12)

W – 11 – OysterToads (RCL 12)

SV –  10 – Fightin Gobblers (Caught Looking)

ERA (Min. 40 IP) – 1.09 – Chesofero (RCL 14) & The The (RCL 22) (in 49.2 IP)

WHIP (Min. 40 IP) – 0.711 – Orlando Calrissians (Original Recipe) (in 45 IP)

No new records this week, but an improbable coincidence as we had two teams with the exact same ERA in the exact same number of IP.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen a tie in ERA since I’ve been doing weekly leaders for…*whispers*…the past decade.  ANYWAY, moving on!  Also, extremely impressive to go full on slam and legs king and lead the RCLs in both HR and SB.  Nice work, El Duderinos.

Some more stats from the week from VinWins:

11 teams had an ERA under 2, while 50 teams were over 6!  MarmosDad had 2 teams with a 7+ ERA.  A little ribbing for our top 100 SP writer.

14 teams hit under .200, and 26 hit over .300.

99 teams had 0 saves this week! (Down from 123 last week)

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.

Team: Leader of Mice

League: Original Recipe

Stats:   AVG: .278, R: 48, HR: 17, RBI: 62, SB: 11

IP: 49.1, ERA: 2.19, WHIP: 1.216, K: 55, W: 5, SV: 5

Summary: Yordan Alvarez featured prominently on the top team for the second week in a row. This week, he hit .476 with two home runs, nine runs batted in, and six runs scored. Hunter Goodman hit four homers and drove in eight, and even stole a couple bases. Isaac Paredes smashed three long balls to knock in nine runs. Freddie Freeman (.345/2 HR) and Jake Bauers (7 R/2 HR/7 RBI) were also big contributors. Ronald Acuna Jr didn’t match his monster numbers from the previous week, but did chip in three steals. Jacob deGrom was the pitching star with two wins and 14 strikeouts in 11 shutout innings. Bryce Elder struck out 10 in his two starts and added another win. Robbie Ray also picked up a win with 5 scoreless innings. Raisel Iglesias (3 saves), Jake Latz (2 saves), and Robert Suarez combined to allow no runs in nine and a third frames. Trevor Megill gave up the only run by the relief corps, but did get a win.  The big week, gained Leader of Mice 15 points to make them the leader of mice and men. Lennie would be proud.  LoM knocked off perennial leader, Man or Stroman? as they jumped from fourth to first and dropped Stroman to second.  Impressive.

A rough week for your SP writer for sure.

Any Trey Yesavage meltdown hurts even more when you roster him in every league.
Somehow I’m still in 1st in RCL2 though!

Can you guess if that’s the league I where have Shota Imanaga? Smh.

Cool, thanks. Leader of mice refers to hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.
