He’s up… and we are sad prospectors. I’m of course talking about the promotion of the Pirates Nick Kingham! Joking, joking, you know I’m talking the chosen one Ronald Acuña Jr.. Lance and I chat a little about the news makers in MiLB over the last week, as well as my weekend looks at the aforementioned Acuña and the rehabbing Luiz Gohara. After getting all that out of the way, we do a brief overview of the Tampa Bay Rays and Texas Rangers systems. We talk everyone from Leody Taveras to Willy Adames to Jake Bauers and Hans Crouse. It’s an action packed show spanning two systems and over 15 other minor league players. Lots of jelly in these donuts, Frank! Finally, please make sure to support our sponsor by heading over to RotoWear.com and entering promo code “SAGNOF” for 20% off the highest quality t-shirts in the fantasy sports game. Ralph,
    Most my hitters are off to terrible starts, including Pavin Smith. He is also blocked by Goldy. I was thinking to taking Naylor, but he too is blocked and is starting to play LF now.

    i am going to grab Peter Alonso, who has picked up where he left off last year. Hitting near 400, with as many BB as K and 5 HRs. All he has in front of him is Smith who is strugling in AAA and Gonsalez, who is doing the same in NY.

      @jose: Go for it, I still think Dom Smith gets the shot first, but Alonso is a good add.

    Hey Ralph,

    Thanks for the podcast! How come no love for Daniel Robertson of the Rays in the fantasy community? Former first round pick, multi-position eligibility, killing the ball right now! A case of devil [ray] magic like we normally get with the Cardinals.

      @DeerHeadGhost: I’m not sure, likely small sample size and we’re all skeptical. He’s always had a strong hit tool, so this isn’t a shock.

    So, pretty unrelated question. HTH points dynasty league prospect trade question. I have a ton of OF and SP prospect depth and limited roster spots-this trade would speed up my team’s rebuild quite a bit. Is this fair value and how much more should I add?

    My Eloy, Keller, and a rookie draft pick

    Get: C-mart, suarez

      @Matt: I like the Eloy side but I get the allure of getting C-Mart in that format.

    • Matt says:

      @Matt:

      Oh, I have OF prospects Calhoun, Oneil, Tucker, and Eloy all close with Soto and Adell further down.

      SP prospects Reyes, Kopech, Keller, Baez, Luzardo, Hansen, Whitley so depth is there to make the trade if value is good (obviously if it isn’t I can hold them til later).

    Good work as always Ralph!

    Free Willlie!

    Dynasty trade offer:

    I get Kris Davis n Sean Newcomb.

    I trade Jose Martinez & Ken Giles.

    Thanks!

        @Ralph Lifshitz: thanks!

        1 more ? Who would u prefer in a dynasty?

        Odor or Mancini?

        Enjoy the weekend!

    Thx Ralph! Roman Quinn is having a good year(and a big night last night). Have you heard anything about the Phillies plans for him? I think he’d be a better addition than what Altherr is doing.

      @Jake: I have not, should be interesting to see if he gets the call sometime next month if Altherr’s struggles persist.

    Any SP you see that could be called up soon you think will be Top 30 this year?

    • Nightpandas says:

      @Launch Angle: I’m hoping on Soroka

    • Lance

      Lance says:

      @Launch Angle:
      As in top 30 SPs rest of season upon their call-up? That’s what I’m assuming here, rarely do you get a call-up edge into the top 30 SPs overall simply because of innings.

      Kopech for me, real shot to do so with his strikeout upside. As Nightpandas says above, Soroka has a shot too, but Kopech above him.

    hey ralph,

    if im a longshot to get in the money this year would you trade Gallo for Eloy and a first rounder (we keep 11) 15 teams

    • Lance

      Lance says:
      (link)

      @Nightpandas:
      Really like Gallo personally, but don’t mind either side of this deal.

      I’d hold Gallo, but wouldn’t fault you for doing this. I think the “longshot” you’re looking for could actually be Gallo with how he’s looked early on the peripherals side of things.

    National league 10-team league which side of the trade do you like better cargo and McCutchen or Rizzo and Trevor Williams

    • Lance

      Lance says:
      (link)

      @Marti:
      Rizzo side for me.

      Get the want for diversification of assets on the Cutch/Cargo side, but I just want elite players, especially in NL/AL Only leagues.

    Ralph,

    I traded Acuna and Pivetta for Syndergaard and Benintendi.

    Nuetral, like or love the deal?

    Hope Acuna doesn’t go crazy on the counting stats. Was hesitant to move him.

    • Lance

      Lance says:

      @Launch Angle:
      Like the Syndergaard/Benny side.

      You’re gonna miss Acuna, but you’re getting two top 30-40 guys back.

    I live in eastern NC. And am fortunate enough to check out the Down East Wood Ducks, and all of the Carolina League prospects that come through. Leody has not impressed me much. As far as a fantasy prospect he will never be 20 /20. I don’t see the power projection. Watched Keston Hiura all weekend and he hasn’t made very good contact at all. Yesterday had a couple of choppers to SS that he was able to get on base on, but overall, expected better. One guy that’s going underrated is Jonathan Hernandez. I’ve watched 3 starts of his and he’s been unhittable. Striking alot of guys out and has been around 93-94 mph. Don’t know why he’s not in AA yet. Tucker Neuhaus is another guy that has made loud contact all weekend for Carolina. Just a couple guys that aren’t being talked about to keep an eye on. Juan Soto is up to Hi A now. Can’t wait to see him in Potomac when they come to town.
