On Dancer! On Prancer! On–Oh, I didn’t hear you come in. Welcome, reader! Grab some egg nog and brandy it up to the fire. You look festive. I love that Rudolph tongue ring, though not as much as I love your Facebook photo with Santa while wearing an “I Can’t Breathe” t-shirt. That’s the great thing about Christmas, no matter what your interpretation is, it’s all about commercialism. That’s unless you light the Munenori Kawasaki. The 2015 fantasy baseball rankings are not far away. Right now, January Grey is throwing darts at a board to figure out where to rank Rusney Castillo. Exciting! In the meantime, let’s look at the players who have multiple position eligibility for this upcoming 2015 fantasy baseball season. This took me far longer than it probably should’ve. Can’t someone write me a program that sorts all the players by games played at a position? Why do I need to go through every player on every roster? It totally harshes my buzz. I did this list of multi-position eligible players because I figured it would help for your 2015 fantasy baseball drafts. I’m a giver, snitches! Happy Holidays! I only listed players that have multiple position eligibility of ten games or more played outside of their primary position. Not FIVE games at a position, not six, definitely not seven. Ten games. 10, the Laurel & Hardy of numbers. So this should cover Yahoo, ESPN, CBS, et al (not the Israeli airline). Yes, Christmas came two days early this year. Players with multiple position eligibility are listed once alphabetically under their primary position. On a different post, I’ll make some comments about some of the players. In the mean’s while, you make comments in these comments. Say that fast 117 times! Anyway, here’s all the players with multiple position eligibility for the 2015 fantasy baseball season and the positions they are eligible at:

Merry Christmas Grey.
@gareth: Merry Xmas!
@gareth: gareth!!
I know you got burned last year by Ryan Zimmerman. But if playing 1st base helps him stay off the DL, that 1b/3b/of eligibility is pretty nice to have.
Heath permitting of course.
@gareth: He’ll still get hurt…doesn’t matter where he plays
@gareth: Yeah, if he can stay healthy…
@gareth: burnt here too. his shoulder would probably hold up longer @1B, but if memory serves, his 2 major injuries in 2014 (thumb and hammy) both occurred on the base paths. prob one of those 1/2 season guys regardless of position.
Grey, happy belated giftmas.
In a $200 budget 5×5 (w/OPS) which 2 would you hold?
* Votto $3
* Rios $4
* Pedroia $6
* Myers $4
You too, dem ribbies! Myers, Votto
Our league format starts out with only one position eligibility. For example, M. Morse may be 1st base eligible because that is where he is deemed to play even though he played more games in the outfield in 2014. This post helps a lot for drafting some flexibility for my draft and potential line-ups. Once a player gets to 10 games played at a position then he becomes eligible at the said position. Thank you, and Merry Christmas to you and the whole staff at Razzball.
@Nimrod: No problem… Happy holidays!
Keep 5: runs, obp, rbi, hr, sb position in draft does not have to be given up to keep a player…
Lucroy
Hanley
Braun
Cano
M Brantley
R Zimmerman
Rizzo
T Frazier
JD Martinez
Danny Santana
Soler
Thank you
@Chris: You didn’t say the depth of the league, but assuming it is 10-12 teams, I would keep Cano, Hanley, Brantley, Rizzo, and Frazier.
I guess you can make a case for Lucroy, Braun, or Soler, but I wouldn’t keep a catcher and Braun leaves little reason for confidence re a resurgence. You could definitely go for Soler’s upside, but Frazier was so good last year it is hard to throw that back.
I’m not huge on position scarcity, but it is nice that this gets all the IF positions covered for you, which is nice.
@Ralph: Thank you all
@Chris: Cano, Brantley, Rizzo, Frazier, Hanley
@Chris: Braun, Cano, Brantley, Rizzo, Frazier
@Chris: Cano, Brantley, Rizzo, Frazier, Hanley
@Grey: 3 out of 4 on that on….survey says
Huh?
@Grey: you, Nick, and Ralph all picked the same 5, Jeff had one different. It was funny for an offseason morning to get three people answer one question.
Like a baller!
@Grey: I’d totally keep Zimmerman
@J-FOH: Yea to me it was a coin flip between hanley braun ..just figured braun would play more
Yeah, it is a coin flip on those two… Hanley just has a bit more interesting position eligibility…
@Grey: Forgive me….im hung over from winning my football championship last night
Awesome, congrats! Nice pot with that one?
@Grey: Nothin crazy $300
Not bad… Every little bit helps with the roof!
@Grey: You got that right
@Grey: Soler will probably wind up being better than both of them ha ha
Hope so!
Hi Grey;
Asking for some advice on Who to keep in 15 player, keep forever 14 team keeper 6×6 ROTO League?
(regular categories plus BB’s, and Holds)
Bats include IF, Utility, and 4 OF’s;
Arms are 6 SP and 3 RP’s.
Bench = 10 players and 3 DL spots.
Pick 15 From:
Bats- F Freeman, J Kipnis, N Arenado, I Desmond, Goldy, T Frazier, A Gordon, Cargo, C Dickerson, S S Choo,
Spares -JD Mart, Duda, Avisail Garcia,
Pitchers – Jordan Zimm., Z Greinke, M Latos, C Carrasco, Fister, H Bailey, G Holland, Cischek, Melancon, G Perkins?
Tough to whittle down to 15… Should I consider keeping JD over Choo? Carrasco over Fister/Latos? A. Garcia? Can T. Frazier do it again?
Suggestions/discussion encouraged! Thanks!
@goldirocks: F Freeman, J Kipnis, N Arenado, I Desmond, Goldy, T Frazier, A Gordon, Cargo, C Dickerson, Duda, Avisail, Jordan Zimm., Z Greinke, M Latos, C Carrasco,
@Grey:
Thanks for the advice!
No problem
Grey,
Great, helpful post. Thanks for the time you put in.
@Alcibiades Escobar: No problem
uh oh Miggy had exactly 10 games at 3rd eh? hmm didn’t factor in his 3rd base eligibility into possibly keeping him. is he a must keep at $40 over a $10 pence or lester.
thanks for all the great work. happy holidays.
I’d keep Miggy… You too!
Awesome, thanks Grey! Carlos Santana just got a lot more delicious. And some guys really get their at bats one way or another – Amarista and Aviles anyone?
Yeah, doesn’t make most of these guys that appealing, but at least they have position eligibility…
Keep 7: 4 Offensive Players and 3 pitchers.
HR, RBI, OBP, R, SB & K/9, ERA, WHIP, SV, QS
Happy Holidays!

Grey!
All the best, man!
Really gr8 research on this one. I think I agree that 1 ‘n’ Zimm is much less of an injury risk (therefore a gr8 chance to produce this year with 500+ ABs). Maybe he still qualifies at 3B in CBS leagues?
All the best for the holidays!
Cheers,
Ante
Thanks, man! CBS is 20 games played
In my dynasty league..i won last year and am thinking about trading Miggy before this season…Im feeling like hes still really good but his best days are behind him….all depends on what i can get but i think i can get a nice package for him….I have Arenado Frazier and Goldy…so it wont hurt me position wise to move him….You think hes a hold or sell him before he comes down even more.
Yeah, I could see moving him, depends what you can get…
Do I want Homer Bailey or Stroman going forward in dynasty?
Stroman
We need cheesiest top 40 hip hop tracks all time
@J-FOH: I’ll get to work….
Go for it!
@nick the dick: @Big Magoo: @Grey: Maybe we should go with over rated…or how about most ridiculous when tried to be imitated by a white boy.
Yo bro, a little bird told me you did some mock drafting of late. Which is weird. I didn’t know I was Dr. Doolittle. You got a link?
You told me Dickerson over B ham for my last keeper in a previous post. Could you expand a little. I have a ton of power in my other keepers and I also thought you were really high on B ham last year. Bham cooled for you? Or Dickerson that good? I love the rockies too just don’t know if i trust Dickerson.
It’s a coin flip between the two…. If you have a ton of power, then go Hamilton… I was never really high on Hamilton though…
@Grey: i used you to justify my “highness” on b ham. Haha. Damn. Didn’t you write about him as your first rookie last year. Then emphasize the fact that trout and myers had those honors before him. the two. You have me doubting my b ham and giancarlo combo.
Yeah, but I wasn’t higher on him than anyone else who was ranking…
@Grey:who looks/gives a shit about anyone else’s ranking. I don’t win these things paging attention to yahoo. I still like B ham to be a weapon this year. Just hope he doesn’t play like the aug/sep. What would you put the over unde at on his sb this hear? I say 65.
That looks about right…
” i bet you sleep with a night lightttttt… cuz ur scared of the dark.. and you stink like a fart!”
Is that Nas?
@Grey: hahah! yup.. bonus tracks off stillmatic!
Thought I recognized it!
@Grey: while catching up on some razzball material, i read about your stone episode.. that sucks!!! glad you are doing better old man!
how did it come out? did you have to piss it out?
Yeah, shizz was crazy painful… They gave me Flowmax which expands your urethra and stone passed… You should’ve seen my urethra, I could’ve worn it as a skull cap!
@Grey:haha, ohh my god thats awful! ive always been scared about them,.. i use to drink alot of red bull, like alot of red bull. everyone always told me i would get them and im sure one day i will.. although i dont drink red bull anymore. ive always had that fear tho… did they say what it could have been from?
Yeah, they said it was from drinking caffeine and nothing else… Sorry, Prezii!
@Grey: shit! haha well im glad ur okay… i had to use a catheter before… so you still got a while to go to top me!
The thought of that made me dry hurl… Why did you need that shizz?
@Prez: I’m with you..I had a hard time even hearing about it
@Prez: You guys need to stop this conversation immediately
STFU!
gun shot… bitches did a drive by and got me in the back. 2 inches away from being paralyzed. i was in 3 hospitals for a month. this was in like 06. im fine now.. they thought i wouldnt walk again at first but im back walking and jumpin around! suck that doctors! :)
catheter was the worst tho. they made me do it manually for a while while i was in there. do u know what it takes to look at ur own shit and do that?? i get the chills typing this
Yeah, that’s some scary shizz… And nasty shizz too… Damn, prezzii, be safe in Oaktown!
@Prez: STOOOOPPPPPP!!!!
jef, you had to put it all the way up there too, til you felt it hit the bladder….
happened in richmond… but theyre shooting everywhere now a days.. stay inside and be on razzball is the best thing to do, kids.
Amen, unless you’re dating a bad ass beeyatch and she wants you dead…
@Prez: Richmond? Man, I’m about 10 miles away from there now. Good thing I just hole up in the man room these days…
yeah dont go there, bud. where are you now? im about the same distance.
@Prez: Midlothian. Just moved here in Sept. Where are you?
@Prez: Ah, I just saw Grey’s comment about Oaktown. Are you out in CA? I thought that you were referring to Richmond, VA…
magoo, im in vallejo, CA now haha i meant richmond, CA..not VA. whoops! richmond CA is just a little city out here in the oakland/ san fran area.
@Prez: I wasn’t even aware that there was a Richmond, CA. My bad. Steer clear of those drive-bys. Don’t want to have to suffer through another catheter experience (or worse)…
haha yea im sure youll be safe in richmond VA. i had to google the place you mentioned because i was lost when trying to think of where that could be.
@Prez: Oaktown, Richmond and now the Vallejo. Do you have a death wish?All are not great places to be hangin out. Pittsburgh is not pretty either. My buddy used to live in Bay Point and when I would have to go down the hill to the McDonalds for hangover breakfast it was night and day. Back to the point, I have a lot of friends from Vallejo and Benecia and done house parties up there and all I can say is yikes. Move to like Dub C or something lame like those spots
stockton is another one thats been awful the last couple years.the bay is my home tho, jack! i hate to live in it but love living in it.. if that makes any sense? although, eventually i got to get up and out of here.. nothing but bad news. a close friend moved to colorado not too long ago and wants me to come along. its tempting for sure.
@Prez: I love Colorado, tons of family there too. It’s funny, my friends who live in concord/clayton/ walnut creek think the bay is mary fuckin poppins
@Prez: Sounds like it’s time to get out of there. I researched some places out west for a potential move about 7-8 years ago, and Denver and Colorado Springs looked like solid options. Decent crime rate, cost of living, etc. Might be worth a look.
jack, i love concord and walnut creek! the females there, OH MY GOD! and martinez… yes! hahaa the bay area isnt ALL bad, its not like you are going to walk outside and have to dodge bullets. just some stupid people out here.
Magoo, my buddy says hes paying 900 a month for a two bed, two bath on 20( i think ) acres. its nice too, he sent me pics. just in the middle of nowhere! i dont know how i would adjust to that, im a city boy. if you wanted a 2 bed, 2 bath out here, youre EASILY paying $1500 a month. unless its like a superrr ghetto area.
@Prez: I know the good and bad of the bay. redwood city dog!
Long Beach, or the LBC as you know it is my second home.
@Prez: Go stay with your buddy and look for some hot farm girls. Might take a little while, but it could be worth it. Would save some money too…
donaldson now in toronto or robinson canó for next season only.
Donaldson
Chris Davis in the 4th. Nice!
Not even I am as high on Kipnis as the Belltown Irregulars apparently. Seems like that team made a bunch of interesting picks in your mock…
To say the least… 6 of his first 7 were head scratchers… Fielder?! Oy…
@Grey: Yeah, Fielder. Donaldson in the 1st was surprising, but it gets iffy once the top 10 or so players are off of the board, so I could see that pick. Maybe.
You like Hanley over Desmond? Channeling January Grey…
I don’t, I was just drafting by the seat of my pants… I don’t hate my team, but I wasn’t going off of anything…
@Grey: Yeah, I figured that’s what you were doing. Everyone else was probably doing the same thing, which is why you can’t put too much stock in these early mocks.
It’s always interesting to see how certain players are valued though. Marte at 71? Soler at 152? I hope that those slots hold up. Love those values. I like your Carrasco, Gattis, and McHugh picks too. Really solid value with those players.
Yeah, some of these would be insane… The crazy thing this is for a magazine so people will be looking at it as gospel… Assuming people read magazines still…
@Grey: I still get one magazine every offseason just to provide a point of reference on draft day. So much changes between early January and mid-late March though…
Yeah, that mock was for Lindy’s…
@Grey: Do you get any sort of percentage off of the back end? I’ll make sure that Lindy’s is my mag of choice, if that’s the case…
Nah, not at all… Just did it for PR, if there’s any…
I asked Santa for the baseball season to start two months earlier…I’ll keep you posted
@Jef with 1 f: that a mets hat?
@Prez: Yes sir
@Jef with 1 f: sorry bro…
@Prez: thank you…it’s a tough life but someone has to do it
@Jef with 1 f: so was it double the pain with ike davis?
@Prez: I’m just shocked they got that one right by keeping Duda
@Jef with 1 f: a’s got him now.. should be fun!
@Prez: yeah I just don’t think he’s that good
@Jef with 1 f: neither do i….
@Jef with 1 f: but…. if anyone can make him somewhat decent, its the a’s.
#hope
I’m feeling good about that this year!
had a spinal tap too..
prez here for all ur christmas cringes! hehe
@Prez: Jeebus, dude. Not as bad of a visual as the manually-inserted catheter though…
@Big Magoo: haha it hurt just as bad man, maybe worse. not as cringe worthy tho, by a long shot.
Thanks to the conversation above I just made my wife rub my penis to make it feel better…I’m good now…but she is now blind in one eye
@Jef with 1 f: I’d have to draw my wife a map in order for her to find my penis these days.
@Big Magoo: ha ha…I’m getting to that point myself
@Jef with 1 f: lolll! remember to be grateful man!
@Prez: yeah I just don’t think he’s that [email protected]Prez: I am..I told her if she kept rubbing my penis her eye would feel better
@Jef with 1 f: not sure why my post from above was included in this one
@Jef with 1 f: double the post, double the fun!
Ha
Any quality SP/RP 2015 pitchers other than Alex Wood and Carlos Carrasco? Or is that for another post?
Rudy will do that sometime in the preseason…
butter tits… haha can we start calling matt adams that?
@Prez: only when he’s not hitting, since remember, it’s about ONLY having those.
@Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey: got it, got it. im taking notes buddy! ill get it down, dont worry!
Yes, please
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!
Happy holidays, F!
Imbibing with the good stuff this holiday? Haha if I’m reading the list correctly Frazier played 167 games??( 124 at 3b & 43 at 1b= 167?)
Maybe I should draft all the guys who play an extra 5 games?
Haha Merry Christmas!
Extra Nog hold the egg… Frazier likely played a few innings at 1st and 3rd in the same game multiple times…
Hey Grey, thanks again for all the advice this year: 2 Firsts, 1 Second, and 1 Seventh. Need some advice with keepers for 1 team – 6×6 (Standard Hitting plus OPS, SVs, K, ERA, Whip, K/9, BB/9). Keep 4 players, can keep players forever and must keep at least 1 pitcher. (1C, RF, CF, LF, 1 Util)
Possible Keepers:
HItters: Anthony Rizzo, Jorge Soler, Brandon Moss, Jay Bruce, Alcides Escobar, Drew Stubbs, and Josh Harrison.
Pitchers: Matt Harvey, Corey Kluber, Michael Fiers, Alex Cobb, and Carlos Carrasco
I’m leaning towards Rizzo, Soler, Harvey, and Kluber
Kluber… Rizzo, Soler, Bruce
Grey, which side in keep everyone forever CBS 5×5 roto dynasty?
Stroman, Arcia, Brandon Drury, Eloy Jiminez, Rafael Montero
Pence, Hector Rondon
Merry Xmas!
Pence side… You too!
Who wants to challenge me to a feat of strength???
@Wake Up: how do we do this over the net? I bare my grievances all year long…It’s always festivus with Jack
@J-FOH: HA…You’re right I take it back…off to wassell…
@Wake Up: wait which part?
My feet are weak…
Merry Christmas big man, can’t wait for this year. I’ve got Arismendy on my minor league squad, you think he will be a starting 2b this year? That would be huge to already have my 2b filled before the draft. Also, what do you make of Crush Davis being allowed to take adderall this year? I’ve played sports on adderall and that shit makes sports easier, I think he could have a bounce back year. Thanks.
Starting 2b for fantasy, its a 12 team keeper league and I’m keeping Brantley, Trout and Cutch so my OF is filled. Arismendy would probably played 2nd for me since it’s a tough position to fill.
Baez is their 2nd baseman right now… Ruiz was allowed to take Adderall too… Seems silly they even suspend guys for that… Merry Chirstmas!
@Grey: i think they just have to have a legal script, same as any other allowance for drugs anywhere else. If/when we get pulled over we’ll be in trouble having adderall too without script (it goes from legal to a felony without).
Gotcha
Merry Christmas Grey…quick question for ya regarding which 4 players to keep. I finished 2nd in my 12 team H2H 5×5 league last year. I can only keep 4 players, and each player costs you the slot/ round they were drafted in the previous year, if the player was undrafted they are slotted in the last rounds of a 26 round draft. I’ve narrowed down my current choices to the following players, with the round they were drafted in parenthesis :
G.Stanton(2nd)
F.Freeman(8th)
Y. Ventura(18th)
G. Springer(20th)
T.Frazier(22nd)
C. Kluber(23rd)
D. Gordon(24th)
M. Betts(undrafted)
J.Soler(undrafted)
I have excluded Cano(1st) and Ellsbury(4th) due to their high round selection, but maybe I’m wrong to do so. I was leaning towards Stanton, Kluber, Springer and Frazier based on value vs draft slot. But Im curious to see if you’d go with a different 4 and if so why? Thanks in advance!
Merry Xmas! Stanton, Kluber, Springer and Frazier works for me…. You have a lot of great choices though…
@Grey: Thanks for the reply and I know… Freeman, Betts and Soler are the ones I’m struggling with the most. But Stanton and Kluber are no brainers to me. I still want to believe the Springer hype and Frazier seemed like better value in round 23 than Freman in round 8.
Yeah, I could see going for all of those…
Merry Hanumas!
Watched that movie Chef last night with the baby’s mama. We enjoyed it. As a father it was good.
I thought it was awful… Mother Cougs really liked it though…
@Grey: if you had kids you would get it. It was entertaining.
Nope, it really wasn’t… It was one of the worst movies I’ve seen this year… And I’ve seen some real stinkers!
@Grey: wait a minute albright, any movie that makes me hungry like that did is not bad. It has Sofia who always makes for a good distraction, speaking of her, did you see aging gigolo?
Sofia is ridunk hot… Nah, haven’t watched that one yet… If you mean Fading Gigolo…
@Grey: Tomato Tomacco
Hehe
Oh, and Merry Xmas!
@Grey: oh and when I say Hanumas. I say it like Jimmie Walker says Dynomite!
Haha

@Grey: lasagna is one of my fav dishes.. easily! some smoked sausage up in there, bomb!
cougs needs to be put in timeout for that tho. maybe you just dont make good lasagna?
Nah, my shizz was on point… Spicy sausage, meatballs and pork shank… All stewing in there…
@Grey: I’ll see you tomorrow for leftovers. I love the lasgna
Yeah, it came out awesome too…
@Grey: seriously freeze me a piece. I love a good lasagna and with you being from Jersey I can only assume.
I watched that Pauly Shore flick on Showtime the other day and it was pretty good. Really sad, but not in the way you think it would be. You know he is the celebrity endorsement for SAGNOF.
Inherent Vice, not as good…Unfortch…
@Grey: looked like a hard one to pull off as a film. It was a cable watch for me and I will probably like it because you don’t.
Crazy hard to pull off… There were some amazing parts, but the whole was kinda messy…
finally a date for Inherent Vice, and it’s soon, Jan 9th! (might be much earlier in your neck of woods)
@Adult Onset Dia Bit Us: yep, if you search for it it says it’s been out since Dec 14th. So really how good was it? MF’ing midwestern wait times for this shit.
@Adult Onset Dia Bit Us: except for KC, they seem to have had an early 13th Dec show.
@Adult Onset Dia Bit Us: i just noticed above, so it wasn’t that good.
Merry Christmas, y’all.

Appears Starlin Castro is having a quite the off-season.
Hopefully it means Arismendy can play short!

Idea for a screenwriter…Kevin Costner pitches a perfect war against The Dragons… “For the Love of the Game of Thrones”…
@Wake Up: This sounds like a Jeopardy question
I like it! Can we get Tim Robbins to be the dragon?
Cool to trade doolittle for Carrasco?
Yup
