We’re about to enter that weird time of the year where baseball and football meet. It’s almost as if your parenting both DFS baseball and football, trying to show both equal attention. Deep down you know you have a favorite but you don’t want to let it show out of fear of the other one finding out. I’m a dog dad so I know the struggles of showing equal attention to both pups, but I can guarantee you every parent has a favorite whether or not they’d like to admit it, right mom? I wish my mom read my write ups. I’ll let you in on a secret, I like baseball more than football. Sorry for taking up your whole Sunday with a long intro but without further ado I would like to present Luke Weaver as my lede today. Sale and Severino are off the main slate today, which is a huge relief (salary relief). I think you must get cute today and play Weaver. My man crush is starting to formulate for Weaver because of his high K rate. Weaver goes up against a weak Giants offense and is in the pitcher friendly park. Weaver has 20 k’s in his last 2 starts with 2 earned runs. It’s hard to gauge his ownership today because you have some good arms going today but they are all more expensive than Weaver. Weaver’s price today is $17,600.

Matt Andriese, SP: $13,200 – This would be a nice pair with any of the expensive arms today. Andriese returns to the rotation to take on the struggling White Sox lineup. Before going on the DL, Andriese was shaping up to have a nice season. He still owns a modest 3.38 ERA for this season in 12 starts.
Andrew Albers, SP: $11,200 – For as many expensive pitchers as there are today, there are plenty of bargains at the pitcher position. There is nothing sexy about Albers other than his matchup and the offense behind him. At this price range you’re looking for about 4-6 k’s and a win, which is totally possible.
Mike Fiers, SP: $17,700 – I’m not the biggest Mike Fiers fan but Streamonator voted him most likely to walk away with a win today. Fiers gets a cupcake matchup against a depleted Mets offense. Fiers should walk away with the win today and a decent stat line. There is a chance he goes under owned after getting rocked by the Rangers earlier this week.
Jonathan Schoop, IF: $8,800 – Schoop there it is. I will have a few stacks of Orioles and Blue Jays today given both are putting gas cans on the mound today. Schoop has had the most success against lefties this season on the Orioles.
Kris Bryant, IF: $9,600 – Bryant has been held hitless in his last 3 games and is due for a breakout against a left-handed rookie. Bryant will face Max Fried who has struggled a bit in relief and gets his first start today. The Cubs should walk away today as heavy scorers.
Ryon Healy, IF: $6,600 – I really like Healy today and he’s cheap. Healy’s lefty splits are nothing you want to ignore. He has 7 home runs and sports a .339 average against him. At this price and this matchup he’s a must in every lineup.
Kendrys Morales, IF: $8,100 – I told you I will have a few players from this game. Morales has been hitless in his last 2 games after he belted 3 in one game. Morales gets a favorable matchup against Chris Tillman. I don’t know how the Orioles continue to sell tickets by putting Tillman on the mound with his 7.91 ERA.
Justin Upton, OF: $9,300 – Upton here, Upton here. Upton gets a favorable matchup today against a lefty. Upton has 10 home runs and a .349 average against lefties this season. Put him in your lineup, do it, do it.
David Peralta, OF: $8,700 – I’m trying to get the cheapest invite to this game. Peralta has not been anything special lately but DFSBot likes him today. I’m going to have him a few lineups to get exposure to Colorado.
George Springer, OF: $9,300 – Springer has already surpassed 30 home runs on the season. He will attempt to close in on 40 as the season winds down. Today he gets a favorable matchup against Flexen who has more walks than strikeouts. There is a good chance Houston gets to the Mets bullpen early today.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
I don’t anticipate any issues with the weather today. I would just keep an eye on the Dodgers vs. Padres game as there might be a storm right around first pitch but as of right now nothing looks like a PPD.
Doing Lines In Vegas
Mike Montgomery and the Cubbies are todays heavy favorite at -265. There are only 2 games with run totals over 10 today, Angels vs. Rangers and Diamondbacks vs. Rockies.
