Isn’t that how the Taylor Swift song goes? “I don’t know about you but I’m feeling 49.” Wait, that’s not how it goes. I think she is feeling 22. Anyway, I’m feeling Julio Teheran today. Why 49 you might ask? Because he wears jersey number 49, you goofball. The bummer with today’s slate is that if you want to have a good pitching core, you need to spend more than you’d like. Well, with my guy Julio, you don’t. He is reasonably priced at $7,700 which is essentially a steal. But don’t worry, I won’t report you to the cops. That is, of course, if you don’t report me.
Kyle Henricks, SP: $12,900 – I know, genius right? But I am putting the most expensive pitcher up here for a reason. The Padres are absolutely atrocious against righties. And besides, it’s fun picking on the Padres. Honestly though, it’s crazy that Hendricks has come this far to begin with. How has he worked his way into NL Cy Young talks?
Trevor Bauer, SP: $11,300 – Look, I understand the A’s blew up Salazar yesterday, but I don’t trust their offense as far as I can throw them. And trust me when I say I probably can’t throw their team that far.
Miguel Cabrera, 1B: $4,400 – Did the people who set the lines for DraftKings forget that Miggy is still good? I mean he’s batting .308 with 27 homers so I’ll take him and run today.
Chase Utley, 2B: $3,800 – Utley hits righties well, he’s hot and he has dominated Cueto over the course of his career. What’s not to like?
Brad Miller, SS: $3,900 – I’m not totally confident with this pick, but if you are playing in a tournament, Miller might be a good option. He has three hits off Rick Porcello in his career all of which have gone over the fence.
Nolan Arenado, 3B: $4,500 – Talk about a bargain. I love Nolan Arenado and anytime he is below $5,000, you should too. After a home run last night, I will gladly take Arenado again against the lowly Brewers.
Billy Hamilton, OF: $3,600 – I know he’s facing Yu Darvish today, but Hamilton is a guy that does most of his damage around the base path anyway. If he is able to find base once or twice, he’s turned this into a steal at this value.
Jayson Werth, OF: $4,800 – These are the types of matchups you lick your chops over. Wade Miley is nothing more than… I got nothing, he’s bad and he’s a lefty.
Adam Eaton, OF: $3,700 – I always have been a big Adam Eaton fan and I always will be. He’s a guy that I throw into my lineup when I need to save some cash and today is certainly one of those days.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
Should be clear skies today.
Doing Lines In Vegas
Well, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the Cubs are huge favorites tonight but it might that the Marlins are as well. In other news, the Rockies-Brewers game should be a high-scoring contest according to Vegas.
