It’s a very scary thought to pick the two highest priced pitchers on DraftKings, but that’s just what to do today. If you’re afraid of us having to fill out the remainders of our lineup with players from the likes of the Flying Squirrels and the Muckdogs, you aren’t far off. However, on this day it will be worth it, as both aces I’m asking you to pick, Johnny Cueto and Jose Fernandez, are the best we have to offer.
New to DraftKings? Scared of feeling like a small fish in a big pond? Well reserve your spot in the 25 Team Razzball Exclusive League set to run Monday August 1st to wet your DK whistle. Jose Fernandez, SP: $13,400 – He’s averaging over 13 K/9… That’s just disgusting production that you can’t turn down.
Johnny Cueto, SP: $11,900 – You get extra points for each shimmy, right?
Salvador Perez, C: $2,900 – Talk about a huge underprice against a lefty in Arlington.
Brandon Belt, 1B: $3,000 – Between Belt and Salvy, I’m not quite sure of what’s going on with the pricing here.
Trea Turner, 2B: $2,700 – Had to play this speed demon against Cueto; just too good a value.
Conor Gillaspie, 3B: $2,800 – This guy hit the most exciting grand slam of a guy I ever owned in one of my season long leagues; love him.
Addison Russell, SS $3,000 – We should really hope that the White Sox decide to wear throwbacks again so Sale doesn’t start.
Willson Contreras, OF: $3,200 – If I ask twice, will the White Sox please wear throwbacks?
Ji-Man Choi, OF: $2,700 – This guy likes to hit homers off of lefties, and David Price is a lefty who likes to give up homers. Well, he probably doesn’t like it, but you get the idea.
Mac Williamson, OF: $2,600 – Can never go wrong with a guy named Mac, especially when he hits a homer once in a blue moon.
I’m Only Happy When it Rains
The Subway Series that isn’t a Subway Series because it takes place in Chicago and not New York, otherwise known as the Chicago Derby to all you soccer fans, could see rain; other than that, we are good to go.
Doing Lines in Vegas
The over/under of 9.5 in the game pitting Baltimore against Minnesota is the biggest “outlier” to be found today. It’s mostly one of those go with your gut days (along with all the guys I picked in this article too, you can go with them too!).
That’s all for today… Third time is the charm; here’s hoping the White Sox go for the throwbacks!
