Welcome to week three of the Razzball Commenter Leagues! We are now one third of the way through our season. That’s just wild and I have the feeling there isn’t enough time to correct the ERA hole some of my teams have dug. Yikes. A huge thank you goes out this week to Rudy and his FanTrax data-mining robots who were able to snag all our RCL data. That means, we have real, live standings. Week one and two I simply had to take whichever teams had the most roto points, but this week to get to factor in League Competitive Index or LCI. This system rewards players who are in harder leagues for eeking out those extra points. We also get to factor in the Master Points. Master Points are basically like you’re playing in a 924 team roto league. If you have the most HRs in the RCL-universe, you get 924 points, if you have the fewest, you get 1 point. Pretty cool, huh? For more info, you can scroll to the bottom of the MASTER STANDINGS page and read all about the secret sauce that is the Master Standings. This also means, we’ll have weekly leaders starting next week. Of course, there will only be five weeks worth of weekly data, but hey, it’s better than nothing. Hmm, that sounds like it has potential to be the new MLB slogan!
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.
And Grey takes the lead! The crowd goes wild! Grey gained himself 11.5 points this week and now sits a comfortable 10 points ahead of Son for the ‘Perts League lead. Grey had a heck of an offensive week, with 64 runs, 51 RBIs and a .325 batting average, all league bests.
Donkey Teeth was clearly a little agitated after losing the biggest loser award last week to Coolwhip, but he made up for it this week, dropping 14 points. That brings his total to 30 points lost in two weeks. He’s still ahead of me though, so I can’t say much. Although, at this pace, by the time the season ends, I’ll be in fourth place, gaining one spot each week!
Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.
Derek Rhoads (@drhoa3) of jagfantasysports.com took over the RazzSlam lead this week, moving up two spots to claim the top spot from Ray Butler who fell to fifth overall. Brent Faney, who may or may not be Tanner Bell, made a big leap this week, gaining the most points (831) and jumping 26 spots to claim third place overall. The biggest standings gain this week belongs to Ariel Cohen (@ATCNY) who gained 823 points and moved up a whopping 100 places. Nice work everyone!

Cleats Boyardee of Night of the Living Zombinos gets to take the first spin around the block as the overall RCL Master Standings leader. You’ll notice our legacy leagues all tend to have that boosted LCI. NOTLZ is always in the running for the toughest league.
Big props to Capital Offense, who I have for some reason invited into two of my league where they are destroying me in both, thank you kindly. More on Capital Offense and their hot start later on.
Matty’s Super Twos still lay claim to most league points in the RCL-universe, but that LCI has kicked him down to fourth overall. Still, a great showing early on.
You may recall FFB doing battle with Backdoor Sliders last season for the overall crown, well, they are back at it again folks. FFB is currently laying waste to COUGS R US, the RCL Champions league which is made up entirely of top 15 overall finishers from last season and has landed back in the top 10 overall because of it.
TRADES
All the trades that have gone down in the past week. Public ridicule is not only allowed, but encouraged.
DATE | LEAGUE | DETAILS |
---|---|---|
8/14/2020 | COUGS R US |
kumamoto expungers traded Tommy Pham to Fat Fuckin’ Babies for Bo Bichette
|
8/15/2020 | RCL #66 |
Son traded Ryan Pressly to Texas Aardwolves for Dansby Swanson
|
8/16/2020 | RCL #60 |
Trussell Shuffle traded Mike Yastrzemski to Mr Big & Bud Goode for Spencer Turnbull

FFB gets another mention here as they somehow manage to have the foresight to trade Bo Bichette right before he got injured. I was talking Bichette with FFB right before this deal went down too, phew! Turns out, the deal might be a wash as Tommy Pham just broke his hamate bone. Everyone seems so fragile this season.
Son got in on the trading action this week, moving a maybe closer for the Atlanta leadoff man with Acuna on the IL. Nice move Son!
I made a deal of my own, moving Yaz Jr. for Turnbull. I had more OFs than I knew what to do with and needed some pitching, so it made sense.
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: Capital Offense
League: DFSers Anonymous
Stats: AVG: .240, R: 163, HR: 62, RBI: 156, SB: 11
IP: 198, ERA: 2.40, WHIP: 0.946, K: 232, W: 21, SV: 14
Summary: Usually, this space will be for the week to week best overall team, however, since we just got our first round of data, this week it will be based on the first three weeks. The formula is of my own creation, giving weight to each stat category to come out to what I believe is a well-rounded week of scoring. It’s been quite a first three weeks for Capital Offense, as evidenced by the Master Standings and their two teams in the top 10. Capital Offense drafted first overall in this league and nabbed Acuna followed by Shane Bieber and Matt Olson. That’s 12 homers and the early Cy Young leader in the first three rounds, not bad. Next was Keston Hiura and Aaron Judge. We’ll see if Capital Offense can weather losing Acuna and Judge for a bit, but I think they’ll be fine. The next four rounds were all pitchers for CO, nabbing Sonny Gray, Kenley Jansen, Nick Anderson and Lance Lynn. Bieber, Gray and Lynn, you can see why those pitching numbers are so fantastic. That’s a solid base with a third of the season done. It’ll be hard to mess that up and leaves CO open to streaming and hunting for needs, like a few extra saves. Just don’t add Trevor Gott! Nice work CO, I look forward to your continued clobbering!
