Frequent commenter, The Big Yabu backdoored his way into the top spot in the Master Standings this week after threatening to do so for the past several updates.  This wasn’t a case of Cram It slacking off either, has he put up a very strong week himself.  In fact, when looking for this week’s Team of the Week, Cram It checked in at 18th overall and Backdoor Sliders 1 came in at 29th.  The TOW leaderboard was a who’s who of big names and top RCL performers this week, but more on that in a bit.  The biggest difference I can see in this battle at the top of the Master Standings is the slightly higher LCI in the FCL compared to DFSers Anonymous.  That LCI can really have a big impact down the stretch, but at the same time, the competition in FCL should be stronger and odds are someone will start cutting into the Slider’s lead.  Interestingly, Cram It is also in the FCL and is one of the teams trying to chase down Backdoor Sliders.  He could really help his own cause two-fold if he was able to even take a nibble out of the Slider’s FCL tally.  It will be fun to watch these two duke it out as we head towards the finish line.  Here’s what else went down in the RCLs in the week that was, Week 17.

‘PERTY ‘PERTS

Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts & other industry names to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land.  We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them.  Click the heading above to check out the ‘Perts League home page and follow along.

What a week for the Hack formerly known as hate!  J-FOH finished the week 10th overall in the TOW standings and was hot fire in the ‘Perts League jumping from 4th to 2nd with a 6.5 point gain.  J-FOH now sits 8.5 points out of first and my preseason pick to win the league is looking to be making a charge.  Rudy was right behind J-FOH in the TOW charts, but didn’t move up any spots and gained 3.5 points, the second largest gain this week.  Grey gained 1 spot and 1 point this week and is still ahead of Rudy (6th vs. 8th).  Jay Wrong was the biggest loser this week, dropping 5 points and slipping to last place, but hey, it’s fantasy football prep season!

7/31/16 Night of the Living Zombinos Pittsburgh Lumber Company traded Kenley Jansen to WAINWRONG WAYWRONG for Corey Kluber

The trade market ebbs and flows.  I expect as the August 12th RCL trade deadline nears and now that the MLB trade deadline has come and gone the trades will really increase the next 10 days.  This week, there was only 15 trades and nothing too outlandish.  Although, C-Mart and Cole seems like a lot for Adrian Beltre, but to each their own.  Maybe BROKEBACK is nearing their GS limit.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.

Team: Team Bastaich

League: South Side Titans

Stats:   H/AB: 84/312, AVG: .269, R: 46, HR: 20, RBI: 55, SB: 8

IP: 92.2, ERA: 3.50, WHIP: 1.11, K: 92, W: 3, SV: 9

Summary:  TOW was quite the competition this week.  In the top 30 were J-FOH, Rudy, Cram It, two of VinWins teams, two of my teams, MauledByPandas, Teddy Heater and Backdoor Sliders.  Yet, topping us all was Team Bastaich.  Team Bastaich got big weeks from Swiggy, Xander, Odor and baby Khrush Davis as well as nice pitching from Syndergaard, Cole and a double dip of Tyler Skaggs.  Not too shabby.  Team Bastaich sits 10 points behind Team Lion in 2nd place after the hot week.  You may recognize Team Lion from the top 10 overall standings, tough competition.  Keep up the pace.
