Once again, congratulations go to the Pesky Pole Dancers (Trippin’ Baseballs), who continue to set the pace. They lead all teams in runs scored, and their lowest score is a 7 for WHIP. That’s a Shame (The Dread Pirate Rides Again) has moved into 2nd thanks to a strong league index. RCL 5 remains the most competitive league, despite the fact I own a team  there that is dropping like a rock. (Probably because I named them the Toronto Bautistas, and then didn’t trade Matt Holliday for Jose when I had the chance). Sleeve Of Wizard (More Donkeycorns, Please) gained 21 points this week and jumped 200 places in the standings to 203rd.

Master Standings are here.

Other category leaders:

Rosie Jones (36th place)  98 home runs
Auto Draft All-Stars (101st)  338 RBI
The Jets (80th)  85 steals
Team Beefcake (34th)  .286 average
Joe For Oil  (143rd) 534 Ks and 41 wins
fried chicken skins (55th)  41 wins
Champaign Enema Bandits (19th) 60 saves
Killa Beez (28th)  2.36 ERA and 1.04 WHIP.

Blockbuster: A big trade in RCL 34 on the weekend. Hack Pack traded Kevin Youkilis, Carl Crawford, and Matt Holliday to The BallBusters for Brian Wilson, Torii Hunter, … and they threw in Jose Bautista. Hack Pack should improve on their points for saves (4.5), but will Bautista hit enough to make up for the loss of those 3 stars? Of course, Holliday is still dealing with tightness in his left quadriceps muscle.

There have now been 82 trades. I’ll put the complete list in the RCL Forums.

Jose Bautista: I wasn’t planning on writing about Jose, but Grey said to me, “Vin, if that is your real name, we really need to hear more about Bautista.” And that’s me misquoting Grey! (Okay. Okay. Outright lying).  Bautista had an average draft position in the 38 RCLs of  36.3. The earliest he went was 23rd to Simply Fred in the ECFBL. 2 teams were lucky enough to grab him in the 5th round, including Knockatomi Plaza in RCL 25, who drafted Bautista with the 56th pick, the latest he went. Only 9 of the teams that drafted him are currently in 1st place, so I guess he can’t do it by himself. Hey, the Blue Jays aren’t in 1st either. 3 teams with Bautista are in 10th.

First Base: 170 of the 456 players drafted in the 1st round were first basemen. Prince Fielder’s ADP was 14.7, but somehow fell to 27 in 1 draft. Ryan Howard (19.1 ADP) went 31st once.

Chase Utley: With Utley now returning, all those owners who took a chance drafting him are hoping to be rewarded. Utley’s ADP was 66.7, but Revenge Of The Lawn in RCL 9 was able to pick him up in the 18th round with the 209th pick. He didn’t make it past the 10th round in any other drafts.
