Grey and B_Don are back for this week’s episode of the Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast. The guys start talking about Shohei Ohtani and everything going on around him right now. What do we think about his new teammate, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, first outing struggles? The duo don’t agree on how the players in the Korean games […]

There’s a section of the fantasy baseball industry dedicated to prospects; scouting, evaluating, and projecting among other aspects. Comprehensive sites like the one you’re on now have dedicated prospect writers (scratch that Itch) working tirelessly to keep you abreast of all the names to know for your fantasy teams, and there are prospects-only sites that […]

While Donkey Teeth is away, B_Don makes a call to the ‘pen and @TheProspectItch gets the bullpen cart to give him a ride to the mound. We start by talking about how The Itch has approached prospect rankings and evaluations with no active minor league system.

We discuss the start to the season using some of our leagues to talk about the difference in approaches and waiver wire strategies. AL/NL only leagues are a whole different world from the RCLs.

The Itch discusses how his approach has changed in the last couple years due to differences in the minor league system and how teams are using service time with prospects these days. We continue the prospect discussion by talking about some of the rookie pitchers and hitters that have started the season with their respective teams.

B_Don asks The Itch about the prospects that he expects to see called up next. The Itch drops a couple of bombs on B_Don as they close the show out about some of the game’s top prospects.

Oh man. It’s bad out here guys.

Oh Jesus, what even is an oblique?!

It’s okay little buddy, relax. Nobody knows what an oblique really is. Some kind of triangle I think. But damn they love to get injured lately, huh? I mean, c’mon we’re talking dynasty here, we’ll just wait until our competitive window opens in 2025, right? WRONG! But you better be prepared, son.

Do you think it’s bad now? Wait until AA and A ball get rolling. Not to be the bearer of bad news, predicting some massive bloodbath across the league but… I’ve seen Nicky Lopez starting in shallow redraft leagues. Poor, poor souls. Please say a prayer for your local Middle Infielder. Or better yet-

Buckle up and hit that waiver wire bucko, we’ve got leagues to win!

Donkey Teeth and B_Don are joined by a perennial podcast guest favorite, Tim McLeod of Prospect 365. Every pre-season Tim is kind enough to jump on the podcast to discuss the newest crop of Japanese and Korean league signings across the majors. We ask him to give us the down low on Ha-Seong Kim, Kohei Arihara, Chris Flexen, and Matt Moore. We also ask Tim what he expects from some of the other Asian league signings from recent years like Yusei Kikuchi and Yoshi Tsutsugo.

We then turn our attention to a couple of Tim’s leagues as he recently drafted in the mixed LABR league with our own Rudy Gamble. Plus, Tim has agreed to join the RazzSlam for the first time this season. We start by asking him what he thinks of the RazzSlam and give him the 4-1-1 on the league setup before asking him what his strategy might be. Finally, we wrap up with Tim’s LABR team from his first 4 picks to some of the prospect picks we’ve come to expect from the great Tim McLeod.

Bingo

You’ve made your pick. You feel energized, confident. You look over. Your queue is proud and strong.

I’ve got this.

Nothing can tear you down. You’ve done your research, crossed your Ts, and dotted your I’s.

Until… The next pick. One player taken from your queue is no big deal, right? You’ve still got… Ding. Ding. Ding. And just like that, your best-laid plans have vanished.

My good do these scrubs read Razzball, too?

You panic as you search the top available picks left. All your targeted prospects, all your value veterans, all hope… Gone in a flash. Even Hedbert!
