Yeah, it is sort of a play on words for the band Journey, so what?  The “so what” is that if you ever want a whole-hearted laugh to yourself, go watch Steve Perry sing the seventh inning stretch.  It is fitting because the postseason save aftermath that is happening is coming from San Francisco, the home of the band Journey.  See what I did there…? A huge cartwheel.  The removal of Santiago Casilla, because he was a little save chilly has thrown the usual or at least semi-stable job into a committee situation.  Never fun for anyone.  Hunter Strickland got the first save chance post Casilla castaway.  Bochy is a finicky beast, if he was a cat owner, never married, and possible a 50year-old scorned woman, it would make sense, but he isn’t, he is a manager that flies by the beat of his own drum.  I usually have dynamite steals info, but since this happened in between my closer/reliever post on Saturday, you get a double dip of save-ness.  The adds for me are Strickland, Romo, Cory Gearrin, a hold on Casilla and unless the inning is straight LOOGY’d up, Javier Lopez could be a factor.  That is how I see the saves getting divvied up.  That is a cavalcade of names to chase for saves, but if you wanna bank on one guy getting a mass majority I would look for Hunter to be that guy.  So continuing on with the S part of the AGNOF, let’s see what has happened around the baseball fantasy universe over the past week in thievery.

Kevin Kiermaier – I always liked/loved him, but he never ever hit enough.  If defensive metrics are part of your fantasy league, he is prolly a first round pick.  You also take fantasy baseball way too seriously if that is one of your parameters for scoring.  You also probably couldn’t describe what the sun looked like because the basement windows don’t face that direction.  Hitting over 5 bills with 2 homers and 3 steals over the last week.  Ownership is tiny and right for the swooping.

Andrelton Simmons – This is the all defensive SAGNOF report, and it wasn’t intended to be.  Two steals for the hapless Angels, but let’s be honest, everyone is looking for a MI eligible guy that has at least one hit in 17 of his last 20 games.  7 of those of the multi-hit variety.  Production sounds right to me, what says you?

Carlos Gomez – Resurrected in the land of Arlington?  He is basically producing what we thought he was until he turned into a fantasy pumpkin some time ago.  Playoff race stimulation gotta be the answer, it’s either that, or sweet tart candy.

Tyler Saladino – Imagine if the Jimmy Rollins experiment didn’t happen and we added his at-bats to what he has done so far.  Rollins had 166 plate appearances up til June, Tyler stands at 8 HR’s and 11 steals right now… add in J-Roll’s and would 12 and 20 out of the question with two-plus weeks of games left to add to the total.  Shakes fist at Rick Hahn and points the not nice finger to boot.

Adam Ottavino – He has been the closer for a little over a month and has stellar periphs, but only 4 saves to show. He also has 4 blown saves.  If it were free throw shooting he would not look so hot, but basically it’s shot put with bats.
