Typically I write a “Why Join” article when the Razzball Commenter Leagues first open for business. I did that this year too, way back in February. You remember February right? We were younger then, it was a simpler time and you imagined all the fun you’d have managing your various fantasy baseball teams to victory. While all the initial leagues are filled, we have opened up a couple more RCLs for those of you who would like to draft a team or two given what you know now. These have been open for a couple weeks now and the most we have is two managers in these leagues. So, I thought perhaps you all may need a little coaxing. Let’s look at a few reasons you should join and then give you the skinny on how to go about signing up.
1. I don’t know about you, but half my leagues this season just folded up shop and said, “See ya next year MLB”. This is especially true of my leagues that have keepers and/or larger buy-ins. This season isn’t very representative of the grind of the MLB season we all know and love and so a lot of my leagues are just pretending this season isn’t happening. That leaves even more time for RCLs! I have a feeling that DFS is going to be a very popular option this season as a way for people to get their fantasy baseball kicks and not have to worry about their first, second, third and fourth round picks getting the ‘rona. RCLs are the season-long equivalent of DFS. Transactions daily means streaming match-ups and if there was ever a season where the draft doesn’t really matter, it’s this one.
2. Anyone can win this thing. This season, in such a small sample size, the top spot is more up for grabs than ever. We still have a $250 Best Buy Gift card up for grabs along with a Razzball T-shirt. Not to mention, once you win the whole thing, no one can ever take that title away from you and in 30 years when everyone has forgotten 2020, you saying you were the 2020 RCL Overall Champion will have the same clout as the 2019 RCL Overall Champion.
3. Use this season as a sandbox for your off-the-wall fantasy baseball strategy. I’ve mentioned this a couple times when talking about this season. Anything goes! Have you ever felt the need to draft 9 straight starters and then see what kind of offense you can build? Now’s the time! Ever want to fill your offense and then simply stream match-ups all season long? Over a 162 game season that’s quite the grind, but over 60 games, have at it! Dream big and dream weird and see how it plays out.
The first draft of the newly formed leagues is TOMORROW NIGHT, 8:30 ET. You can click right HERE and you’ll be in! Fancy! You can also scroll down on the spreadsheet below to find another league that works for you.
TO JOIN A LEAGUE
Click the LINK in the ‘League Link’ column (see below grid) for the time you want and YOU’RE IN. Damn, that’s too easy. Oh, I guess I should also mention make sure you’re joining a league for free or for money, depending on your preference. If you want a league for money, then 1) Click the link. 2) Pay the money. That’s it! No pesky third requirement! Again, Fantrax and Razzball take no money. You can join as many free or paid leagues as you like. To quit a league, go to OTHER –> All Options –> Quit League (located at the bottom). Now go join some leagues!
