Another week at the top of the heap for Team Levy.  Levy put a little distance between themselves and second overall this week with a gain of 7.5 points.  Team Levy now sits with an impressive 114 points in their league, All Hail Beddict Tha God.  A quick glance at the league standings shows that a perfect score isn’t out of the realm of possibility for Levy.  With six weeks left to go, there’s only 15 runs and a tie breaking homer separating Levy from a perfect 60 in the hitting categories.  On the pitching side, thanks to a studly stable of relievers, Levy has only used 118 Games Started and the two teams they are chasing in Ks and wins have used almost all their starts.  Levy has a ridiculous 2.99 ERA, the closest competition there is at 3.573.  That leaves plenty of wiggle room for the streaming that will be needed down the stretch to chase down those Ks and Ws.  With the lack of a high LCI (thanks for showing up Tehol!) it might take a perfect score to claim the #1 spot in the Master Standings.  Wouldn’t that be something?  Good luck, we’ll be watching!  Here’s what other excitement went on in the RCLS in the week that was, Week 20.

‘PERTY ‘PERTS

Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts & other industry names to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land.  We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them.  Click the heading above to check out the ‘Perts League home page and follow along.

Well, well, well, look who decided to show up and make this league a race.  It seems J-FOH took my call to arms last week personally and set his sights on Team McLeod.  FOH gained 6.5 points this week and almost all of them seemed to come at the expense of Team McLeod, who lost 5.5 points.  That tightened things up quite a bit.  With the 12 point swing, now only 2 points separate FOH from ‘Pert league glory.  All FOH really needs is some serious SAGNOF down the stretch.  He’s currently sitting with 75 SBs and a 2 in that category.  He’s 10 steals out from picking up 3 more points and with Dee Gordon in the mix, it’s very possible this happens quickly.  FOH also tied the league leader in HRs this week.  Both teams sit with 253 HRs and 10.5 points.  One swing of the bat and this is a 1 point race.  Nice work FOH.

So I don’t get accused of running the Razzball Illuminati again, Grey had the second best week this week, gaining 3 points while remaining in 4th place.  Grey is only 2 points behind Big Magoo now though.  Grey is a mere 0.001 ERA points ahead of Magoo right now, so that could quickly turn into a 4 point gap with one bad stream.  It’s shocking to me that a Grey albright led team only has a 5 in HRs.  Big Magoo is directly in front of him there, but is 12 HRs up.  Not insurmountable, but surprising none the less.

In other ‘Perts league news, Team McLeod’s 5.5 point loss wasn’t the biggest of the week, that dubious honor goes to JB who dropped 6 points this week and fell two spots to 7th place.

Rudy stays in 9th place for another week.

Cram It jumps ahead of Backdoor Sliders this week, those two have had a good back and forth going.  Team Son jumps up from 9th this week to leapfrog Big Magoo and take over 4th place overall.  Team Lion remains in 6th place, same as last week.  Simply Fred returns to the top 10 as he’s gained a lot of points this past week or so in ECFBL.  My squad moves up from 10th to 8th and Fatous Jeffreys falls from 5th to settle in 9th place.  Finally, rounding out the top 10, is Rock Ridge Express.  Rock Ridge wasn’t even in the top 50 last week.  In fact, they weren’t even leading their league.  It wasn’t even that close, they were 12 points behind the leader as of last week.  This week, they are up 13 points.  Some close categories have made for some major swings.  This will be one of the more fun league finishes to keep an eye on.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.

Team: Bag Boy

League: Myers Superfoods

Stats:   H/AB: 119/322, AVG: .370, R: 66, HR: 22, RBI: 64, SB: 11

IP: 71.2, ERA: 2.01, WHIP: 1.14, K: 79, W: 8, SV: 4

Summary: Our very own Prospector Ralph earns Team of the Week honors this week.  You may not recognize him as his team is moonlighting as John C. Reilly here, but trust me, it’s him.  Just take a look, Bregman, Betts, Dahl, Judge, Reyes, Lopez and Bundy.  The only one missing is Benintendi.  This is Ralph’s squad for sure, and what a week it was.  This is one of the most dominating performances for TOW I’ve seen yet.  Ian Desmond and Aaron Judge were the only players not to homer and Judge was the only player to not bat over .300 this week. Streams from Shoemaker, Ervin Santana and Blake Snell helped boost up the innings and provide nice ratios along the way.  Everything came up Ralph as he leads Myers Superfoods with 6 weeks to go.  Keep it Ralph!
