The prospects are coming, the prospects are coming!  What fun the end of week 16 brought.  I, for one, was so excited that I happened to catch the news on Twitter of Manuel Margot being pulled in the 4th inning of his game that I totally whiffed on the David Dahl news.  Turns out Manny Margot just had a bum foot…awesome.  Now these Hippos are almost entirely Dahl-less in the RCLs.  That makes me sad.  As of this writing Dahl is owned in 75% of leagues and if he stays with the club through this week and makes it back to Coors still on the roster, I could see that number growing pretty quickly.  Alex Bregman also got the call, but he was already stashed in most leagues.  In fact, he’s only available in three leagues as of now.  Those three leagues are clearly asleep at the wheel.  Trea Turner is doing his thing and all his owners are happy to see he’s not getting Dusty’d…yet.  With Nomar Mazara, Wilson Contreras, Tim Anderson and Max Kepler also out there making an impact, it’s been quite the season for the rookies so far.  Let’s see who out there is putting these rooks to good use and what else transpired in the week that was, Week 16:

‘PERTY ‘PERTS

Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts & other industry names to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land.  We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them.  Click the heading above to check out the ‘Perts League home page and follow along.

My question is, how in the world does Prospect Ralph not own Alex Bregman?  He let J-FOH stash him all this time?  I am appalled.  At least Ralph dropped Bregman for someone worthwhile.  Oh, what’s that it was Angel Pagan?  Oh dear.  Come, sit with me prospector, let’s talk this one out.  Perhaps David Dahl will help ease Ralph’s pain, and he’s got some serious work to do now that Ralph has fallen three places, down to 6th place.  Ralph was the ‘Perts League’s biggest loser this week in both the standings and total points (-4).  Meanwhile, JB was moving in the opposite direction.  JB was the biggest points gainer this week (3.5) and made the biggest jump in the standings, moving up two spots to 5th place.  Our heros, Grey Albright and Rudy Gamble remain stuck in the middle together in 7th and 8th place respectively.  At least Grey still has bragging rights going for him there.

We got the skinny from Cram It last week, too much time at the beach, not enough time with the roster.  Cram dumped the sand out of his shorts this week and ran his league points up to 106.  That, combined with a 104 LCI has Cram once again sitting in the catbird seat.  Last week’s leader, Team Lion fell to 4th this week as You had to make it weird jumped over him and Backdoor Sliders, into 2nd place overall.  Sliders remains in 3rd for another week, picking his spot.  Chicken Shack and Fatuous Jeffreys swapped spots this week.  Team Frost jumped back in the top 10, from 12th place last week.  T1000 moves up one spot to 8th overall and two newcomers joined the party this week.  AK FortySevens jumped from 24th to 9th this week while Team Levy made the move from 15th to 10th.  Nice weeks for those two, let’s see if they can hold on.

You wouldn’t have thought in the preseason that Adam Jones, Anthony Rendon and Justin Upton would be getting traded for Adam Duvall, Dexter Fowler and Joey Votto, but you can see it now.I can’t believe that Jonathan Villar netted Justin Verlander AND Ryan Braun.  Nice get for the Yogurt Slingers.

July 20th was Starling Marte moving day as three of the four deals made that day involved the speedy Pirates outfielder.  Speed kills.

I don’t see anything else outstanding here, just the typical dose of Saves and Steals changing hands.  See a great deal that I missed?  Let’s hear about it!

The FCL showed again this week why it is such a strong league, placing two teams in the overall leaders chart.

@StatsR_Us blew past the stolen base record of 17 this week with 21!  Billy Hamilton and Ryan Braun had 12 between just them.  Nice week, that should be a tough record to break.

Shout out to Nick the Dick, gotta love him busting out the Positive K reference team name.  You know, I got a team, but your team ain’t run by me.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.

Team: Slammers Slam

League: The Greatest

Stats:   H/AB: 98/294, AVG: .333, R: 67, HR: 21, RBI: 56, SB: 8

IP: 63.2, ERA: 2.26, WHIP: 1.05, K: 58, W: 6, SV: 2

Summary: The greatest week ever for Slam?  I think so.  Slammers Slam now sits just one point out of third place in The Greatest RCL.  Slam was led by Trevor Story who’s 6 HR/2 SB killer week carried a lot of teams this week.  Evan Gattis and Joey Votto each pitched in 3 HRs and Votto batted over .500 for the week.  Ryan Braun swiped 4 bags this week and Corey Kluber and Steven Wright led the way on the pitching side.  If only Chris Carter would do something, it’d have been a perfect week.  Nice work Slam, keep it up.
