More like the weekend that was, amiright?  Despite the three day work week for us fantasy baseballers, there are still numbers to be crunched, standings to be compiled and trades to be analyzed.  No rest for the weary here at Razzball HQ.  The Razzball Commenter Leagues march on.  It’s interesting that it seems like everyone really stepped away from it all during the time off.  Only two trades were completed during the four day hiatus.  Friday and Saturday things picked right back up though.  Maybe, like VictoriaB, everyone was sitting in the corner rocking and crying while they waited for baseball to return.  Let’s take a look at those trades and what else happened in RCLs in the shortened week that was, week 15.

‘PERTY ‘PERTS

Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land.  We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them.  The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.

Not a lot of action to report during the weekend in the ‘Perts League.  JB and Cram it continued their tango as they have swapped standings positions several times in the past month.  For now it’s Cram It over JB by a hair.  Cram It was also the biggest point gainer of the week, tacking on 4.5 points in route to finishing the week in 5th place.  Prospector Ralph was the biggest loser, dropping 4 of his previously acquired 10.5 points but remaining in 2nd place.  Grey dropped a whole 0.5 points this week.  Watch out!  The Grey is falling!

TOP 10

For those too lazy to check the MASTER STANDINGS, I present to you, the current top 10

RK TEAM LEAGUE RCL PTS LG PTS LG INDEX MASTER PTS
1 Vottoman Empire DFSers Anonymous 103.9 107 104 93.6
2 Cram It Sponge-worthy Anti-Dentites 102.6 109 102 93.3
3 Team Albright Razzball ‘Perty ‘Perts 101.4 103.5 106 89.3
4 Mount Fupa Squat Cobblers Smokey Joe’s Chamber of Death 100 112 98 91.6
5 South Side Hitmen Von Hayes and Confused 99.5 109 99 92.4
6 Pancake Riot BigThreeSports + Razzball = Love 99.3 107.5 101 89.6
7 Swamp Donkeys Straight Cash Homie 98.3 105.5 99 92.6
8 Returning Champ The Giant and the Jew 97.2 102.5 101 89.9
9 Rakers Nation Rio Ruiz Super League 97.1 99 104 88.6
10 Team Dingerz Daniel Murphy’s Porn Stash 96.9 107 99 88.1

Vottoman Empire survives the layoff and holds onto first place overall for another week.  Cram It was able to tack on a few points and pass Grey fro 2nd overall though.  Crammy should spend some time convincing his league mates to step their game up and boost that LCI.  102 isn’t shabby, but it will likely take a little more to push him into the top position.  Either that or a 120 would do the trick.

The Squat Cobblers didn’t take the weekend off, they gained another four spots to 4th overall, bringing their total to 10 spots in two weeks.  In doing so they bump the South Side Hitmen from 4th to 5th.

Pancake Riot, who was in first place overall back in week 4 had fallen out of the top for a bit but has come storming back the past few weeks.  The Riots take the 6th overall spot this week, bumping the Swamp Donkeys to 7th.

Returning Champ makes a return to the top 10 after falling to 13th last week.

Rakers Nation, our former number one overall team has slipped all the way back to 9th overall this week.

Team Dingerz rounds out the top 10 in the same position they occupied last week.

Apparently everyone was all good after the 18 trade outburst of last week.  Only 10 trades this week to ridicule, thankfully with 100% less leagues quitting!

Grey mentioned the possibility of buying low on DJ LeMahieu the other day.  I agree.  Looks like 50ft of poo did just that!

Grey also mentioned nearing driving his moped into a crowd of hippies (or something to that effect) while trying to hit accept on Mike Maher’s offer of Keuchel for Sam Dyson.  Apparently, Mike really wanted Keuchel gone and really wanted a mediocre closer in return.  I’m a little hurt that Justin Wilson didn’t receive an offer.

WEEKLY LEADERS

The best of the best from the week that was.

R – 34 – Team Jones (Take on the Jay 3)

HR –13 – 5 Teams Tied

RBIs – 38 – DENNIS system (South Side Titans)

SB – 8 – Respect My Authority! (Razzers Not Brazzers) & Rock Lake Bullheads (Beddict Believers)

AVG – .385 – Bad News Bears (It’s Time For Dodger Baseball!!)

K – 70 – The Obsidian Order (Chicks dig the deep Razzballing!)

W – 6 – 4 Teams Tied

SV –  7 – 4 Teams Tied

ERA (Min. 17 IP) – 0.28 – NO PEPPER (The Prospect Podcast League) (in 32 IP)

WHIP (Min. 17 IP) – 0.46 – The Kid (Rio Ruiz Super League) (in 19.2 IP)

This week’s stats won’t count towards the weekly records, but here they are nonetheless.  It’s a shame, really, I would have loved to have seen what NO PEPPER’s final ERA had been had they made it to 40 IP.  We might have had a new record there.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.

Team: Balking Dead

League: Super League

Stats:   H/AB: 50/143, AVG: .350, R: 29, HR: 8, RBI: 25, SB: 2

IP: 50.0, ERA: 1.08, WHIP: 0.94, K: 47, W: 5, SV: 1

Summary: Not bad for three days work!  Heck, I’m happy with 5 wins in a full week, nevermind a weekend.  Harper and Rendon led the way on offense, combining for 5 HRs and 12 RBIs in 3 days.  The Balking Dead didn’t have a single starter give up more than 2 runs or go fewer than 6 IP this weekend either.  They even left Trevor Cahill benched or those numbers would have been even better.  Nice little weekend, hopefully that momentum lasts through the upcoming weeks.
