The humans are making their move now!  Mad Beach Bums (Rakers Nation) continues to put the heat on Rudy Is Snooty and our human hero, Cram It has vaulted up the standings into third overall.  It might be slightly unfair for the robots as Cram It seems to be half human, half Razzball Commenter Leagues machine.  We’re all pulling for you Cram, make us humans proud!  Only two of the four bots remain in the top 10 overall, however, all four remain in the top 20.  Of course, two of those four bots are in the top four overall.  They are the bread to the human sandwich of MBB and Cram.  It was yet another excellent week for our Fantasy Master Lothario, Mr. Grey Albright.  Despite this, he slipped back a spot from 7th overall to 8th overall.  It was a very busy week of trading in the RCLs with a whopping 19 being completed.  Some of the most competitive leagues were very active with three trades being completed in each of the ‘Perts League, ECFBL and DFSers Anonymous.  All this, plus a familiar name makes an appearance as the team of the week.  Come check out this and more in the week that was, week 8:

‘PERTY ‘PERTS

Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land.  We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them.  The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.

It was yet another stellar week for Grey as he gains the second most points in the league (5) to bring his total over 100.  Everything Grey touches turns to gold for the past 4 weeks.  I have a formula that former RCL Updater, VinWins put together to determine the Team of the Week honors every week.  The formula counts X number of points for a HR, X number for RBIs, X number for a Save, etc.  I then add all these together and whoever has the highest total is the TOW.  Here are Grey’s standings in those ranks the past 4 weeks: 3rd, 10th, 28th and 4th this week.  That’s a just plain crazy run.  I am trying feebly to chase Grey down but as of this writing I’m 15 points back.  FIFTEEN!  The rest of us can only hope Grey goes cold here soon or this RCL race is going to be over before July.

On the flip side, Prospector Ralph is in free fall.  Ralph dropped 11.5 points this week, the biggest in the league by a wide margin.  Maybe it’s all the pressure Jose Altuve is putting on his other first round pick, Manny Machado.  Ralph also had the biggest drop in the standings, losing two spots in falling from 4th to 6th.  The second biggest drop this week belongs to Tehol, who lost 7 points and slipped from 2nd (where he’s been for three straight weeks) to 3rd.

I already mentioned the top four in the opening paragraph, it’s going to be a fun race.  Swamp Donkeys and Returning Champ swap positions this week in the overall standings, 5th and 6th respectively.  FIP U Guessed It made an impressive move this week shooting from 33rd overall to 7th!  Nice week there!  Team Dingerz moves up seven places this week to return to the top ten and Hollywood Knights edges out Pancake Riot to get back into the top ten overall this week as well.

There were too many trades to go into too much detail on any this week there is, of course, Ralph’s trade heard round the RCLs for everyone to see.  If you haven’t seen/heard, there you have it.  You can catch Grey’s reaction to the trade on last week’s podcast.  No word yet from M-Strudel on what he was thinking there.

It looks like someone got ripped off for Miggy this week…yikes.

Also, look at Bradley Zimmer making moves.  Three different deals involving the speedy young prospect.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.

Team: Calgary Cannons

League: My Nightly Fantasy

Stats:   H/AB: 81/278, AVG: .291, R: 39, HR: 18, RBI: 47, SB: 3

IP: 174.2, ERA: 3.97, WHIP: 1.36, K: 153, W: 11, SV: 9

Summary: I didn’t speak to the Cannons achievements in the weekly leaders section because I knew I’d have the chance to here.  The Calgary Cannons opted for quantity over quality in order to take home TOW honors this week.  They didn’t have a super week, but when you throw 28 Games Started and 174.2 IP, your numbers pretty much dwarf everyone else.  The Cannons actually finished second last week for the same reason, but only having 10 HRs didn’t boost the numbers up like this week’s 18 did.  The Cannons are easily going to be the first team to cross the 180 GS threshold, likely doing so before June.  As of Monday night the Cannons are sitting on 166 GS.  Just 14 to go!  That will leave four solid months to work down that 4.11 ERA and 1.34 WHIP while trying to add to those 61 Wins with relief pitchers.  It will be interesting to see what impact RPs can have on those subpar numbers.  It was a big week, but this could be the last we hear of the Calgary Cannons for a bit.
