Happy week four, everyone. I hope all your elbows remain intact and you were outbid on Jack Leiter. This week we have the Colorado Rockies playing one of the most fun weeks of scheduling with four games at home against the Padres before traveling to Mexico City to play two games against the Astros at 7,200 feet. There shouldn’t be a Rockie left on the waiver wire this week. This really highlights the daily moves and the impact of saving some rotating roster spots on your RCL team. If you haven’t yet, go stock up, drop your Luis Rengifo for Brenton Doyle, or slide Elias Diaz into your UTIL spot. Don’t miss out on these counting stats. I can’t wait to see the impact on next week’s numbers, but for now, let’s take a look back at what happened in the week that was, week 4.
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.
Coolwhip and I tied for the most points gained this week with 12. Coolwhip’s points moved him into first place though. Meanwhile, last week’s chart-topper, The Great Knoche, lost the most points this week (19.5) and slipped to fifth. Grey slipped back to last place as he lays in wait for his time to strike…or something.
Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.
The top five remain unchanged this week, including Clark Olson in the top spot. This is just furthering my belief that whatever place you are in after two weeks in the Razzslam is where you will finish the year. Obliterating that belief this week is Razzball’s own The Lineup Builder who gained the most points (697) and moved up the most places (135) to finish the week in 54th place. Speaking of our Razzball gang, Kirksey finds himself in sixth place this week, up from eighth.

Four trades went down this week including someone bailing on Aaron Judge. Jose Caballero for Tanner Houck is a nice little move. I was surprised to see Jose Caballero on waivers in one league this weekend. People are cutthroat around here.
WEEKLY LEADERS
The best of the best from the week that was.
R – 59 – Man or Stroman? (Original Recipe)
HR –16 – 4 Teams Tied
RBIs – 55 – Prarie Dogs (RCL 5)
SB – 18 – Ballville (RCL 4)
AVG – .317 – Killing Me Smalls (RCL 35)
K – 95 – Duderinos (Writers League)
W – 9 – Wake n Rake (RCL 25)
SV – 13 – Stretch Run Punchouts (RCL 10)
ERA (Min. 40 IP) – 0.54 – Casper Cobras (RCL 7) (in 49.2 IP)
WHIP (Min. 40 IP) – 0.668 – Razzkai (J-Rod Take 2) (DFSers Anonymous) (in 70.1 IP)
It was the week of the pitcher as our offense numbers took a dip this week. We did however set a new weekly high in steals thanks to Ballville swiping 18. Stretch Run Punchouts stands alone with the new weekly saves record and Razzkai had an amazing week with the lowest WHIP in the RCL universe in an amazing 70.1 IP!
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: password is taco
League: RCL 5
Stats: AVG: .261, R: 45, HR: 7, RBI: 34, SB: 11
IP: 66.0, ERA: 0.95, WHIP: 0.788, K: 69, W: 7, SV: 8
Summary: This may seem like de ja vu all over again, but it is not…exactly. This is the second time taco has graced the end of the Week That Was column and the TOW, however, this is a different team. Week 2 saw taco’s RCL 9 team in this spot and now their RCL 5 team gets the job done. It was the biggest offensive output, their week 2 team had 11 more HRs the week they won, but in a weak, um, week of offense, this pitching really stands out. A Sub 1.00 ERA and a WHIP that would lead the RCLs most weeks, seven wins, and eight saves is very well-rounded. The offense didn’t tank, and that’s really all we need this week. Jordan Westburg 11/23 (.478) with 2 HR/8 RBI & Julio Rodriguez 13/28 (.464) with 4 steals paced the offense while Tanner Houck went complete game shutout with 9 Ks and Zach Eflin also chipped in 12.1 shutout innings with 11 Ks. Jason Foley, Kirby Yates, and Craig Kimbrel each contributed 2 saves, and that, my RCLers, is how you win the week. The nice week moved taco from fifth to second in RCL 5 and gained them 11 roto points. Not too shabby.
