Welcome to the recap of week three of the Razzball Commenter Leagues. How are your teams making out so far? I have a mixed bag myself. My offenses seem pretty middle of the pack so far, and my pitching ratios are all over the board. Take my Perts League team for instance. There I have the second best team ERA (2.99) and the second worst WHIP (1.351). What do I even do with that? (besides drop James Paxton and his 8 walks, which I did with gusto Monday morning) With a lot of Tanner Bibee & Shota Imanaga shares, it’s pretty easy to see why things have been a mixed bag. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that the season is long. Just try to stay in the mix for now and hope things turn around and equalize. Unless you drafted Hunter Brown, in that case, pack it up now. Let’s dive into the all the happenings in the week that was, week 3.
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.
Weee, what a roller coaster! Knoche reclaims his top spot this week and everyone else seems to be adding or subtracting 20 points per day. Kirksey gained this most this week (25.5) and gained seven spots to land in second. I lost the most this week (20.5) to fall four places. It’s silly season.
Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.
Speaking of silly, points leagues, amiright? Although, I must say, Kirksey having a great week in both Perts and RazzSlam is impressive. Clark Olson nabs the top spot this week thanks to a 716 point gain. That was the second biggest gain of the week. The biggest? 717 points by our very own Butters, who also gained the most spots this week moving up 195 places to 70th overall.

I mentioned in the comments last week maybe needing to trade for a closer in one league where I autodrafted none. Well, to be fair, I drafted Will Smith and Justin Lawrence, so, yes, none closers. I had a plethora of starters and was sick of waiting on Bassitt, so while it seems lop-sided in a vacuum, everything is needs based. Can’t fall totally behind in saves in the first month. Vin traded Cowser for Julien, both of whom were picked off waivers the same day and then traded for each other. Cute!

We are still in “set new records every week” time frame as last week’s records lasted one whole week in every offensive category except batting average. We also set a new weekly record in saves and WHIP. Nice work everyone, maybe these records will stand for a bit longer.
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: DFresh
League: RCL 7
Stats: AVG: .301, R: 58, HR: 19, RBI: 57, SB: 10
IP: 57.2, ERA: 2.18, WHIP: 1.110, K: 65, W: 6, SV: 8
Summary: I was wondering why I had a perfectly fine week in RCL 7 and still fell out of first place. The answer is, DFresh had a perfectly amazing week. This time last week DFresh had 53 points and sat in 9th place. Today? 90 points and first place. Pete Alonso went ham, 9/21 (.429) with 4 HR/7 RBI while Jake Fraley hit the speed dial (thanks, Vin!) times three on Sunday. Jose Berrios and Mitch Keller each had 2 wins and 13 strikeouts, while Zac Gallen added a win and 17 Ks. If DFresh keeps up weeks like this the rest of RCL 7 and I stand no chance. Nice work!
