The RCL Bots are still mending their wounds from the battle with the Spam Bots, it really did a number on them. Hopefully, they are ready to roll next week. These bots really know how to pace themselves.
Speaking of pacing (that wasn’t an awkward transition at all…), let’s have a little chat about pacing ourselves through this grueling baseball season. No, this is not a PSA reminding you to mix a glass of water into your whiskey drinking (but do that too). This is about pacing your innings pitched. Some simple math tells us there are 26-ish weeks in this season and we need to get to 1400 IP. That means you should be looking at about 54 innings pitched per week in order to stay on track. In other words, you should be sitting at between 180 and 210 IP as of this writing.
FanTrax does offer you a glimpse of your current pace if you click the Min/Max button on your team screen. I’m not sure I trust their math though. I followed their pacing in the past and with about a month and a half to go had to stream my arse off in just about every league to catch up. I’m not sure where the breakdown was, but I prefer my own tracking. With any luck, you’re reading this early enough this season that you won’t fall into the same trap.
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. The heading is also hyperlink, so feel free to follow along as we go.
Son rocketed up the standings this week and is now just behind Grey in the standings. Son gained 17 points this week, the most in the league thanks to leading the league in battings average, IP, Wins, and strikeouts. Grey gained a point and led the league in saves. He is now tied with Knoche for the league lead in saves. Kirksey was caught going the other way this week, losing 17.5 points and falling seven places in the standings to fall to tenth. Big swings are still happening all over the place.
Each week we’ll also take a look at the top ten overall standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, the RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from all across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers just like you.
Ryan Beck and Yatta swapped places this week with Beck now on top of the Razzslam rankings. Shoutout to friend of the show, Heath Capps who vaulted into the top ten this week. Also on the move this week, Ray Murphy led the Razzslam in total points (700) and gained the most places in the standings (124). Son had a very nice week as well, gaining 108 standing places and finishing the week in 99th place.
TOP TEAMS
Normally a spot to call out our top te in the Master Standings, for now, a spot to call out our 100+ points teams
TEAM | LEAGUE | PTS |
---|---|---|
Merry Band of Schmohawks | COUGS | 105.5 |
Beefstu127 | RCL 34 | 103 |
PlatanoPowers | RCL 5 | 100 |
West Foundation | RCL 15 | 100 |
Congrats to our top teams this week. I have to imagine that 105.5 in the Champions League would be leading the entire RCLs if the Master Standings were up and running. That league is tough as nails and Merry Band of Schmohawks is treating it like a playground currently.

Seven trades were processed this week, including one blockbuster from Oaktown Steve and a couple of unfortunate timed trades for Garrett Mitchell (injury) and Edouard Julien (demoted). The Julien trade netted a free Anthony Volpe. Volpe was moved twice this week, the other netting Nolan Gorman. I think I’d rather have Gorman at this point…didn’t think I would say that back in March. What do we think of Steve’s deal? I definitely think I’d rather have Acuna and Semien there. Acuna is just electric.

We set a new weekly record in HRs, Saves, ERA, and WHIP this week. RCL 12 was well represented on the pitching side.
Backdoor Splitters (ECFBL) did his thing, leading the RCLs in ABs (356) and Hits (108).
Vin also grabbed some fun weekly stats for us (Huge thanks again to Vin for his record keeping and data collection):
17 teams hit under .200 (including one of Matt’s teams, The Sneetches)
90 teams had an ERA of 5 or worse.
68 teams recorded 0 saves.
2 teams did not have a steal this week! (The average was only 5)
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: PlatanoPowers
League: RCL 5
Stats: AVG: .291, R: 50, HR: 15, RBI: 58, SB: 3
IP: 70.1, ERA: 1.66, WHIP: 0.839, K: 77, W: 6, SV: 7
Summary: I was wondering why this team popped into last week’s article to ask when this week’s would be written! Ha! Carried on the offense by Adolis Garcia – 4 HRs, 14 RBIs and on the pitching side by Max Fried, 11.2 IP, 0.00 ERA, PlatanoPowers knew they had a good week brewing and boy, did they! The sub 1 WHIP to go along with the one-man wrecking crew of Adolis Garcia set the Powers up quite nicely. The big week also vaulted them into first place in RCL 5 and they are one of four 100+ point teams. Nice work!
