Have you seen your family today? They’ve missed you. Spend the next couple days convincing them you’re in good health and that it’s fantasy baseball that has kept you away all this time, not a crazy, religious cult that demanded you move into a hut in the woods and live off wild mushrooms. We’re at the unofficial halfway point and it’s time to take a breather, reflect, regroup and get back to the grind on Friday. Maybe you can visit the Fantasy Golf section of the site and dabble in some PGA DFS for The Open. Say “hi” to Joe, he gets lonely over there from time to time. Speaking of lonely, it’s lonely at the top and that’s where Cram It remains for another week. This guy is a machine. He has now dispatched of fellow frequent commenter, MauledByPandas, who had been his closest league competition and is now fending off one of our five female readers, frequent commenter, MuneForNothing. By “fending off” I mean, keeping a healthy twelve point cushion as he steamrolls us. At this point, we’re all just his little helpers, keeping that LCI high so Crammy can stay at the top of the Master Standings…I feel so used. Kick back with that knitting project you left collecting dust in March and let’s check out the other RCL goings on in the week that was, Week 14.
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts & other industry names to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. Click the heading above to check out the ‘Perts League home page and follow along.
Another week on top for Team McLeod! I really thought this squad would start fading back to the pack by now but it appears the outsider is going to give our Razzball crew a run for their money. With 90 points and no other team even in the 80s, this has become a bit of a commanding lead to Team McLeod. Big Magoo regains second place this week by adding four points, but still sits twelve points back. Mr. Albright was the biggest point gainer in the ‘Perts league this week, tacking on 5 points and moving up from 8th to 6th. In the process of making that jump Grey passed Rudy as the two engage in what is becoming an epic game of standings ping-pong. Tehol was the biggest loser this week…have fun with that one. He dropped 5.5 points and now sits DFL.
TOP 10

10 | Simply Fred | ECFBL | 100.9 | 97 | 104 | 98.4 |
The top five looks exactly the same as last week aside from Backdoor Sliders 1 swapping places with Team Lion. S’All Goooood, Man jumps back into the top 10 this week after sitting in 12th last week. Chicken Shack shakes on up three spots to 7th overall while T1000 tumbles two places to 8th overall. Team Frost fell a spot to 9th and Simply Fred climbs back into the top 10 this week after missing out for the first time all season last week. The top 10 this week says goodbye to Poe Dameron and the third member of Cougs R Us, Team Bromelia. Better luck next week.
TRADES
All the trades that have gone down in the past week. Public ridicule is not only allowed, but encouraged.
DATE | LEAGUE | TRADE |
7/4/16 | Cougs R Us | Always Be Closing traded David Price to Rookie Monsters for Byron Buxton and Jason Kipnis |
7/4/16 | Riverboat Fantasy | Ill Will Phil Hill traded Daniel Murphy to Team Riner for Zack Greinke* |
7/5/16 | Be About Yo’ Paper | Deuce Caboose traded Carlos Estevez and Maikel Franco to The People’s Champ for Brandon Belt (The People’s Champ dropped Michael Bourn) |
7/6/16 | Original Recipe 2016 | HIPPO RULES traded Cody Allen and Josh Donaldson to Summah’ Dawgs for Anthony Rendon, Carlos Martinez and Craig Kimbrel (HIPPO RULES dropped Ryan Zimmerman) |
7/7/16 | Stream or die! | TN Achilles traded Justin Upton and Willson Contreras to Vin and Jackie for Arodys Vizcaino and Ryan Braun |
7/7/16 | The Heat Is On | A**y’s Fish Fry traded Max Scherzer and Michael Fulmer to Jets Dynasty for A.J. Ramos and Jeurys Familia |
7/8/16 | Gettin Frisky | Springfield Isotopes traded Brett Gardner to The Iron Horse for Alex Colome |
7/10/16 | RCL Razz | Smoak and A Pancake traded Rich Hill to Team E for Seung Hwan Oh |
Only eight trades this week, everyone was likely nursing the 4th of July hangover and was too hazy to trade. I get it. Of the trades that did go down, you have to like getting David Price after his last two starts, especially if you’re in need of pitching help.
From being drafted in the 5th round to being traded with a closer for Brandon Belt, how Maikel has fallen. I love this deal for The People’s Champ (Razzball’s own, Teddy Heater) though as Franco could easily outproduce Belt ROS and he got a closer to boot!
Bad Hippo karma for HIPPO RULES in Original Recipe this past week. About three days after this trade goes through, Kimbrel goes down for 3-6 weeks. Tough luck.
A**y’s Fish Fry currently sits at 179 GS (with three other team, none of which are Hoboken Squat Cobblers!) and decided now would be a good time to move some starters to try and improve on those 18 saves they’ve collected so far. Good work at the Fish Fry.
WEEKLY LEADERS
The best of the best from the week that was.
R – 68 – The Clap (RCL Razz)
HR –26 – The Life of Franco (Oscar’s Gambling on this League)
RBIs – 70 – The K Giles Band (Gettin Frisky)
AVG – .360 – Team Rogers (Stream or die!)
SB – 19 – Team harris (The Third Greatest)
W – 9 – Team Taters (American Dream), Team A-Roider (Dropped Third Strike), Railing Kill (Gettin Frisky), Team Codo (Mortals Vs. Beddict) & Team moore (RCL 1000)
K – 110 – Team Codo (Mortals Vs. Beddict)
SV – 13 – Vin and Angela (Center Field)
ERA (Min. 40 IP) – 0.78 – – Bo Knows – (Sultans of Swat) (in 58 IP)
WHIP (Min. 40 IP) – 0.75 – Team harris (The Third Greatest) (in 42.2 IP)
Team harris blew away Grey’s weekly record of 17 SBs this week, with 19 of their own. Starling Marte led the charge with 7 steals, while Bryce Harper and Jonathan Villar chipped in a few of their own. Even unlikely SB contributors like Evan Gattis, Hanley Ramirez and Albert Pujols got in on the fun. Team harris also held the lowest WHIP of the week, not a bad week. They currently lead The Third Greatest by 6 points at the break.
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: Besaid Aurochs
League: Take on the JayWrong 2
Stats: H/AB: 87/308, AVG: .283, R: 56, HR: 16, RBI: 64, SB: 9
IP: 70.2, ERA: 1.78, WHIP: 1.03, K: 73, W: 6, SV: 6
Summary: This has to be one of the most well-rounded weeks of the year. The Aurochs didn’t slack off in a single category this week, which is an impressive feat. They benefitted from a 6 HR Tuesday thanks in part to CJ Cron and Josh Dongaldson. Then Melvin Upton pitched in Friday with a double slam and legs for a nice 3 HR/4 SB day. The pitching was no slouch either, keeping that K/9 above 9 and you have to love the symmetry of 6 wins and 6 saves. Unfortunately the ratios haven’t been kind to the Aurochs the rest of the year and their current 4.075 ERA has them dead last in the category in Take on the JayWrong 2. It’ll take a few more weeks like this to dig out of that hole. Good luck Aurochs and nice work this week!
